The most Kick ASS Villain ever.
Back in 1988 I was pretty much over the comic book thing and had moved on to more important things like...girls. I was a huge Spiderman fan growing up so when all the buzz came about with the Venom character my curiosity was peaked. So without telling my buddies I snuck down to the comic book store to pick up my copy! I was hooked right away.
I would buy them from time to time but it was not until I was working at a production studio that I found myself reading comic books again. All the guy's I worked with helped me get caught up in the Marvel Universe.
And who could forget those hard Venom video games on the NES or Saga that took many hours of my day. Still to this day Venom has to be one of the coolest villains ever!
The A to Z Challenge is almost over I can not believe I have made it this far. If you like what you have seen please feel free to follow me. I'm not always posting about Horror movies I promise.

My copy of that issue of venom is signed...
ReplyDeleteWe were a fan of this villain... then later, they (Marvel Comics) turned him into a "Hero"....
that was after the "Trial of Venom" ...(Murdock, "Daredevil" was his defense attorney) ....
by turning him into a "Hero" they "ruined" this character for us...
I agree when they made him "Kid" friendly just to sell it to a younger market it went to pot! I did like Trail of Venom tho.
DeleteI'll admit, I was never into the comic book thing, but I have a teen who sure is. I am stopping by today from the #atozchallenge – where I am part of the A to Z Ambassador Team! (I’m a minion/volunteer under Lisa.) Congratulations on making it this far! Finish strong. You can do it! and Don’t forget our after party. The Reflections Linky List will open on Monday May 4th. (For links directly to posts, not to general blog addresses.)
ReplyDeleteWe never had a lot of stores that sold comics so I missed out that part of childhood.

I thought he got too popular but the early stuff was great. The effects used in Spider-Man 3 were great - but man was Topher Grace miscast as Eddie Brock.
