The Shape Returns

With one week to the big Halloween Countdown, how can I not share the new Halloween Theme composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies!

Halloween Streams!!

Oh, how I love to watch free movie's on my Roku, and thanks to Vudu and their free movie selection there is something for everyone to get into the Autumn spirit.

First up and this was a complete shock to me

That right the Sam Rami flick that started it all for me in the early days of VHS is streaming with adds for those of you that have not seen this gem yet! The story goes a little something like this, In 1979, a group of college students who, during a weekend getaway, find a Sumerian Book of the Dead in an old wilderness cabin they've rented. When they unwittingly unleash evil spirits and demons while reading incantations from the book, that's when the real havoc begins. As each of the kids, one by one, are possessed by the demons they've let loose, body parts and bodily fluids go a-flying until only one young man is left to face down THE EVIL DEAD.

Next up Harry Potter sort of...

Now I have not seen this yet but it has crept closer to the top of my long list of must-see movies.
Blamed for the murder of his girlfriend, Ignatius Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) awakens one morning to find he's grown a pair of horns. Armed with new supernatural powers, he sets out to find the true killer.

YouTube Killed the Video Star...

YouTuber Fred is back in this Halloween Special for Nickelodeon. So gather the family pop the corn and well prepare to be annoyed. Fred Figglehorn (Lucas Cruikshank), is back in an all-new movie adventure, and his life has gone from kooky to spooky. Fred's beloved music teacher, Mrs. Felson, has mysteriously disappeared, and Fred is convinced that her replacement, Mr. Devlin, has a secret life - as a vampire! And to make matters worse, Mr. Devlin is dating Fred's mom! Look its not Ernest Scared Stupid but it will do.

Ok, I seriously have not clue what this is, do you? If so let us know if it is worth diving into.
This film may take place on Halloween, but it has nothing to do with horror movies and everything to do with that moment everyone has when they realize life marches forward and they're the youngest they'll ever be. This isn't an indie drama about a boy becoming a man, it's a comedy about Tony Phillips, a guy who doesn't think childhood passions should have an expiration date. I really might check this one out soon.

I don't know about you but I'm ready for the cooler weather rustling of the leaves and of course movies and tv specials about our favorite holiday.

Halloween Costume time!

You know have been stalking the Halloween stores already and if not you know you have been googling costumes I mean come on Halloween is 43 days away! So here are the top five I have seen so far!

Number 5 Sandy

I guess in my heart we should all go as Oliva-Newton John just to show support as she battles cancer for the third time in her life.

Number 4 Rockford Peach

I don't know I just think this is cute would love it if my girls would go as Rockford Peaches.

Number 3 He-Man

I mean come on look at the wig! Pure gold.

Number 2 Johnny

Man, I love Johnny Bravo and to have fake buff muscles for a day sign me up.

And Number 1 Cobra Kia

Yeah, this is cool! So glad to see the classic looks coming back as we get away from the whole sexy look and by god may the Emoji trend be gone forever!

Magic Mummy

Man, I can not help fighting these Halloween feels! The weather is the perfect hint of chill to get you in the mood. So why not share A Van Beuren short film featuring Tom and Jerry in which the duo are a pair of policemen working the graveyard shift who are sent to investigate a stolen mummy. Their search leads them into an underground world full of strange characters.

The music features renditions of "The Cop on the Beat The Man in the Moon and Me" and "Sing (It's Good For You)".Margie Hines provides the voice of the singing mummy.

The Official FreeForm Halloween Schedule

FreeForm has announced its 2018 31 Nights of Halloween and is set to be wild. With six new movie premiers and one new Disney TV special I will need to clear some space on my TiVo stat! Two big tiles really stand out for me with 2013's romantic Zombie flick Warm Bodies on October 2nd to the Arnold Scherzinger zombie vehicle Maggie hitting the small screen on October 18th.

Other's getting there FreeForm debut Disneys Malifacent on October 6th, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street On the 7th, On the 14th Hotel Transylvania on rounding out the new frights The Witches of Eastwick on the 22nd. On Sunday, October 14th we also get a new Decorating Disney: Halloween Magic so it looks to be the family time in front of the tube will be wild this year. Also to be noted most of us will be glad to see Twilight has been removed for this year. Seem's Disney is trying really hard to make Hocus Pocus the Halloween movie equivalent to A Christmas Story with its marathon on Halloween. So let me know in the comments below of what you're looking forward to seeing this spooky season.

We don't want to give anybody sleepless nights.

Ghostwatch
1992 | Color | 1 Hr 31 Min | Horror | PG-13 | BBC

Director: Lesley Manning

Writer: Stephen Volk

Stars:
Michael Parkinson
Sarah Greene
Mike Smith

Synopsis:
The BBC gives over a whole evening to an 'investigation into the supernatural'. Four respected presenters and a camera crew attempt to discover the truth behind 'The most haunted house in Britain', expecting a light-hearted scare or two and probably the uncovering of a hoax. They think they are in control of the situation. They think they are safe. The viewers settle down and decide to watch 'for a laugh'. Ninety minutes later the BBC and the country was changed, and the consequences are still felt today.

On Halloween 1992 the BBC aired their Mocumentry Ghostwatch that lead viewers into hysteria! It was so scary it caused PTSD, Labor, and sadly suicide of a ten-year-old boy. With 11 million people watching this one-off which appeared to be broadcast live from a house in Northolt, troubled by a malevolent presence that manifested itself by banging on the water pipes. With its Crimewatch-style setup, complete with a Crimestoppers style phone number flashing at the bottom of the screen "Pipes" become folklore that night that is still talked about today.

Even the News set was fascinating.

And with so many children watching and with plenty of clues along the way that the programme was fake people still believed what they were watching was real. As for those children maybe they shouldn’t have been up – it was broadcast after the 9pm but that didn’t mean anything if your parents let you watch it and it was Halloween for crying out loud I know I would have been up!

Yeah Pipes is here!

The first 45 minutes of the programme were rather sedated. Then things started to go wrong. Even tho I knew it was fake those little girls really suck you into there world! I could escape by reminding myself its only a movie so I can understand watching this live holy crap! Ghostwatch freaks you out all the way to the end and lingers in your mind for a while after.

The girls where just the right amout of creepy.

Pipes was described as a bald man in a long black dress buttoned up to the neck. Almost with affection, the little girl pulled the reporter to the cupboard under the stairs to show her where he “lived”. Gradually, the fake phone-ins started to flesh out the story of the house: one caller revealed that a child molester had lodged there in the 1960s; he had hanged himself under the stairs and his face had been eaten by cats. As the “public” began to contribute, the presenters began to flounder. All the time, there were real members of the public trying to get through! All I can say is brilliant.

Do you see him?

If you have a chance to watch Ghostwatch this Halloween season turn out the lights and let your self-escape into the movie and I promise it will still leave you gasping for air! After you have watched it make sure to google the after effect. Might not be War of the Worlds but it helped lunch Point of View horror like The Blair Witch Project.

4 Bloody Brains out of 5

Ghostwatch is currently playing on Shudder.
