Sunday Funnies

I truly feel at this time we need a little laughter in our lives. Make it a day you turn off the news, grab a good book, google some jokes or find an old sitcom, just take a deep breath and relax today! In the meantime some toilet humor for you.

Did you know that in 1973 this Johnny Carson joke cause a great deal of panic? Yet his joke about a shortage left stores scrambling to keep it in stock as people went crazy!

Yeah thought this was pretty funny.

Why? Because this kids smile will put a smile on your face!

Ok and for the single people reading I'm here to help with some of today's hottest pick-up lines.

If Covid-19 doesn't take you out, can I?

Even during the corona pandemic, the most contagious thing is still your smile

You can't spell virus without U and I

I wash my hands when there's no pandemic too

Wanna get closer than 6 feet

Is that hand sanitizer in your pocket, or are you just happy to be within 6 feet of me?

and of course...

Whisper in her ear:
"I have 60 rolls of ultra-soft toilet paper"

Keep smile friends we will get through this together! Also, check out She Who Seeks post Keep on Smiling for more Toilet Paper humor.

February Movies

Ok catching up on what I watched in February will only take a few minutes as I only watched 5 flicks!

Police Academy
2/22/20 I was looking for a brainless time killer so why not Police Academy. "Time is still good for this one! Such a blast still today." was my review on Letterboxed and its true still funny after all these years. I know as a child I watched this every time it was on HBO.

I gave it 3.5 but a 4 is still true.

Tom Papa: You're Doing Great!

Watched on Sunday, February 16, 2020. This one is a solid 4 stars Papa had me rolling for the whole hour! His new Netflix standup is worth the time I promise! And if you have girls like I do you will laugh even harder.

Gabriel Iglesias: I'm Sorry for What I Said When I Was Hungry

On Feb.8th the Fluffy One talked to me about "Portillo’s chocolate cake shake baby!" I don't write about tv shows much but his new show Mr. Iglesias about a high school teacher was amazing. Netflix better bring it back for another season! I decided to check some of his stand up shortly after and I'm So Glad I did this was an hour and a half laugh out loud good times. And hey it was recorded in Chicago so win-win!

The Lion King 1½

My pour 12-year-old was home sick early on in the month. She learned that Lion King was going to be the kid's musical this year so we talked a lot about it. She and her friend want to try out for Timon and Pomba so what better time then to show her a truly underrated Disney flick Lion King 1 1/2. And the songs still pop along with a story that is still wonderful my revisit was just as fun as her first viewing. If you have not seen this wonderful side story you are missing out!

No Beezy Bear 1955

Watched on Friday, February 7, 2020. The one thing I have been looking forward to with Disney Plus would be the classics. I love that all these old shorts are on there as well. Pure nostalgia gold.

Well, there you have a very shortlist. I have already topped that in March so that is a plus! Hoping today to sit and watch some Disney Plus with the girls as they are still locked in the house.

Letterboxd - Bob Johns

And remember to wash your hands to stay safe! Oh, and what have you watched this month that has blown you away?

Chicago Polar Plunge

And my final video this week comes from a fidged day on Lake Michigan. I took part well from the sidelines of this year's Polar Plunge. What a fun experience maybe next year I will get it. (who am I kidding no way!)

Volleyball!

Ok, yesterday was all about Ella today lets celebrate Lainey's volleyball season. I made this video for her birthday earlier this month. I told you the girls are keeping me busy!

Ella's Choir Competition

For those that read my last few posts, they have been a little on the sad side so let's lighten the mood a today! Ella had her first Choir Competition from last month. They missed an excellent my a fraction of a point put this show should have you tapping your toes by the end.

COVID-19 A look back upon the week.

I have a few videos to share with you in the next few days. Sadly going to start with a sad one but a very important one. For those that have come around know my oldest suffers from PTSD, anxity, and depression. When this first hit the states she started having trouble going to school the one thing that kept her going was The Wizard of OZ. But when everything came crashing down I told her document everything as a way to fight the thoughts in her head. She has not made a video yet but I decided to as well. This is a look back on the first week of crazy.

Coronavirus can SUCK IT!

Wow oh wow (Takes a deep breath) its been a hot minute. To say life has been busy is an understatement and then life came grinding to a halt! I was invited today to join a blog hop for Disaster Movies thanks to Dubsism and Mid-Night Drive-in and it got me thinking. When I started blogging it was to escape the life I was going through at the time. We all know that we are going through a crazy time together and life is changing quickly thanks to the Coronavirus. But before I get back into Music Mondays and Svengoolie's what have I been up to?

Volleyball Season

The man did #13 keep me busy this year the running from game to game and then to rehearsal was a very consistent part of my February. It was a long and stressful season only winning a few games and losing a few really close games. Never the less a ton of fun. The greatest achievement came in the fine tournament when the girls made it to the final game. And what a game it was, I don't think any parent did not breath a deep breath the whole time as the girls went back and forth with one point separating the score most of the match. We may have finished with a second-place trophy but walked away with a mental win.

Nunsense the Musical!

Of course, my oldest has kept me busy as well between practice for Wizard of OZ and Nunsense (Yeah this kid is doing back to back plays and she is crazy) but this kid let anything slow her down. Not to mention all the choir practice and competitions for the past few months. It's safe to say we have been busy and that's ok.

Amelia and Ella

Yep, my kid is a Nun in Doc Martins!

Such a fun show and on the last day she really shined. When one of the cast members got sick and the director was in a panic Ella stepped up and said: "I got this I know her part and dance". And well she did, and of course, it was the one show I did not get to see.

And we were set to open Oz with both my kids getting roles the Coronavirus reared its ugly head and here we sit (Literally).

Who needs toilet paper not this guy living with three women, Ugh!

E-Learning from bed

Work has been a mega stress ball of emotions! When you live with a child that should not get sick and you work retail and are facing hundreds of panicking customers all your mind can think is I'm going to bring this shit home on my clothes! I literary take my clothes off on the back porch and run to the shower as my wife Lysols behind me, lol yeah I'm sure I'm a fun sight to see but that is how my mind has worked. I would say I'm a strong individual but this has me overwhelmed and overthinking. So glad I'm home today to unwind with my family.  Due to a crazy workday on St. Patricks Day, I have my corn beef in the crockpot today we have already watched Karate Kid followed by the oddly entertaining NASCAR Race that was all done on the computer and now Caddyshack. It's been a nice day so far even kind of pretty as the snow falls as no traffic goes whizzing by.

So how is everybody doing? I sure hope you guys are safe I missed you! And one last piece of advice...
