Gratitude Week 2 My Spouse

Week 2 My Spouse

My wife of almost 20 years is my rock, my best friend and the one person on this earth that really gets me.

She has given me two of the most precious and adorable girls a family could ask for.

I'm sure if you ask her what I could change about myself it would be more patient.

A little history

I meet Erinn at a bar the one thing I never thought would happen but this was 1995 and we did not have Tinder or Single Farmers dot com. The bar we were at was the gay bar for the night. She was at a table with two guys that I knew so, of course, I felt my chances were pretty good that she would at least talk to me. We talked about a mood watch that she was wearing. And life became just a little bit clearer. I remember what she was wearing a plaid skirt with a black sweater she drank bud lite and that was rough I was a miller man. We went out for breakfast that night and exchanged phone numbers. You know that stupid guy code that you have to wait three days or you look desperate, well screw that I could not wait to talk to her again so I called pretty much the next day. I know it sounds cliche but I knew deep down inside this was the one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I still do not know how to explain it, but the feeling was real.

Sure like most couples we have had our share of up's and down's but when love is so strong you always find a way to work it out or for my wife If I say I'm sorry (LOL). She let me marry her on Halloween the one holiday that we both loved and it was part of the month we meet. She was willing to move out of the small town that she grew up in and moved to the small town I grew up in. Sure we live in a small house and have way to much stuff but we are happy.

It's nice now to laugh at the crazy things in our life, just ask her she will love to tell you about cracking a pan over the sink and bending it when she got mad at me once. Or the one time she had a meltdown over baked beans. Yeah, Hormonal drugs when trying to get pregnant or not fun at all but we laughed and still laugh today when we tell our girls about our past.

The best part of this life I have is after 23 years together I look and my wife and think "How did I manage to be this lucky" I swear I look at her the same way I did those 23 years ago. I love every minute we have had together and look forward to the future still to this day.

Am I grateful for my wife simply the answer is yes! She has given me a lifetime of love and understanding. She lets me leave for a week out of the year to head out to MDA Camp to take care of Steve. She lets me have a basement full of horror movies and video game collectibles and I let her buy way to much nail polish and Bath and Body but it works, we work!

Grandma Ran Over the Redneck Dracula!

Welcome to Family Fun Thursday This week Dr. Elmo Halloween.

Well did you know that wacky mega-platinum Christmas standard "Grandma Got Ran Over By A Reindeer" writer made a trick or treat CD just for you?

The songs on “Dr. Elmo Sings the Boos” will appeal to adults and kids as each captures the wacky, cheerful, hilarious sensibilities of “Grandma.”.  Who else but Dr. Elmo would set Count Dracula down in a redneck bar in Kentucky and confront him with a veritable litany of American horrors, including Wrestlemania, NASCAR, big hair, gun racks and chicken-fried steak?

I drank her blood 'til I was full, then lost it all on the mechanical bull

With songs like “The Fly,” “Texas Chainsaw Halloween,” and “Pointy, the Pyramid Pumpkin,” Dr. Elmo’s new CD provides a perfect soundtrack for the scariest night of the year.

This is truly a bizarre Halloween CD that should not be missed. You have to love Haunted Hoedown as well! Also, Dr. Elmo.com has a new iPhone app check out is the weird website for more info.

Grab it before its gone. I will be dropping this November 1st. I did pick this up at the dollar store so keep your eyes open for it. The kids are not overly impressed but I do enjoy this album for myself.

Getting ready for fall

Lainey woke up so excited about the first day of autumn and soon started to get upset. When I asked what was wrong she said: "why are the leafs still on the tree's?"

Moving Ella over to her own blog

Sorry for the lack of updates lately been really busy with the end of summer coming a school starting soon. I'm going to move all of the girls updates to a different blog. I did not feel it was fair to them they had to be part of dad's geek-dom. So watch for that soon.

Trust...

OK so one of the biggest things I have had trouble getting over is being over protective of Ella. I feel that I have to stand by her all day to make sure she is fine, and I hate that. Its so hard to trust somebody that's not with her all the time. But I'm working on it. Letting her stay with my parents house, letting her run around out side with out me worrying about her. Then this weekend I let her go with Heather all day. She took Ella after we went to the Home Depot. They headed to Burger King to eat and run around and then to play and I felt OK with that, this is a big step. Mind you I trust Heather she is around kids all day and I know she would since something wrong with Ella and call me right away. But hey I did it I let her walk away, man whats going to happen when she brings home that first date!

This was an action packed weekend. Fireworks on Friday in Peru on Saturday in Spring Valley and Utica (picture) on Sunday. That means bed at 11:00 every night! Lainey did not make it out on Sunday the poor thing melted down by 8:00 and went to bed. Earlier that day Erinn gashed her finger chopping Broccoli and had to go to the Emergency Room for glue and a shot. OOOOOH and the nurse really mad me mad get this she tells Erinn it must hurt do to all the nerve endings in your fingers then oh yeah then so goes on to say how there would be no way she could be a diabetic she can't she how they can poke them selves all the time..boy did I let her have it. I snapped at her " yeah I know I have to Poke my poor 4year old every day" I'm sure my face was not nice. She did not know what to say! I say "SHUT UP!" and do your job.

This is a messed up week as well Rusty's dad is not doing good, Pete's Mom is not doing good and Erinn's grandma is not doing well. I hope nobody needs much from us at the pro desk.
On the 4Th Lainey Turned 16 months. Boy time is flying by.
I also can't wait for this week to be over, Erinn is putting together a book sale for St. Jude. Growing tired of books every where. The good news this week Big Brother starts its like the only show I watch on TV next Baseball and Svengoolie.

The Cuz's Play Date

Dance of the Dead

So after I hooked up the Xbox 360 Ella and I was looking for a game demo she could play. After we settled on "Up" I was looking around and found a video to "Rise of the Dead 2" and this is what happened....That's my girls! Also, Ella really wanted to play a game, well the games you sold me were really not kid games but we settled on "Transformers The Game" that lead to some great laughs. I'm going to have to find some code for unlimited health for her.

Thanks again Steve hope you enjoy the video.
