What a killer poster that is right? And scream queen Adrienne King too! How could we go wrong with this 2013 remake of 1972's Silent Night Bloody Night? The only way to be wronged is to watch this big pile of fruit cake! That poster art will fool the best of us and I'm here to save you!!

The human experiment!

The amazing living puppets of Andre Toulon have a new master. In a desperate attempt to duplicate the great Puppet Master’s work, Dr. Magrew has been experimenting with his human assistants, but Hell is about to break loose.

As captives in Dr. Magrew’s “House of Marvels,” the puppets have watched silently as lives have been destroyed with every failed experiment. Now, the deadly puppets’ hunger for revenge is the only way to stop the legacy of evil.

So in an attempt to finish the Puppet Master franchise by the end of the year I better get going. I have always heard negative things about David DeCoteau's Curse of the Puppet Master so let's take a look shall we?

Puppets Vs. An All New Evil!

After having his demon destroyed, an ancient evil creates a puppet of himself to release on the world. With the help of Toulon's spirit, the Risk Myers destroys the demon and becomes the new puppet master

Shoot back to back with Puppet Master 4 its pretty obvious this is a continuation. What I did not realize was the two movies were going to be one movie released to the multiplexes everywhere under the name Puppet Master: The Movie. In a way, I'm thankful for the direct to video that we have today.

So with this movie picking up where the last one ended it's a little more of the same thing. Rick is in jail for the murders and Blade has been confiscated but thankfully he knows how to escape. The new director of the Artifical Intelligence project is very interested in Toulon's secret. So of course he hires some thugs to break into the hotel and get the remaining puppets.

Of course, the Demon is not done trying to recapture the secret he sends up one more Hell Bound Dark Totem for one last battle! This time it will take all of them as a team to bring down the evil. Toulon even warns our hero's to get out and let the puppets do the dirty work. When all is said and done Rick takes the puppets back home to repair and care for them. Toulon speaks to Rick one final time, again entrusting his puppets and their secret to him while they will act as his protectors. And Rick muses that his fight has now just begun ...

What I was shocked by was this was not the weakest on the bunch so far. In fact, I rather enjoyed this one over the 4th installment. And if the series would have ended with this one I think the fans would have been happy with. We are treated to a few good puppet battles and death scene but oddly enough for a Charles Band movie we do not get any Nudity just some really boring soft sex scene. The music is the same as all the other movies you get nothing new. A day of filming was lost due to the crew walking out, as their paychecks had collectively bounced which shows the struggles back then were just as real as they are today. The budget was used on the puppets this time around and that was really it.

Only two things bugged me this time around the first being the Scooby Doo style case through the hotel hallways. The other was the really long opening that filled us in from the last movie. I did not feel that was necessary at all and I watched them a few months apart. If you are a fan of the franchise and like most have not gone past the 2nd or 3rd one give the 4 and 5 a chance.

Half way through the Puppet Master Collection will the next 5 be as good as the last? We will soon see but for now PM5 you get...

Sometimes you just find the oddest things at a garage sale. I have never heard of this had no clue what I was getting into but for the price figured what the hell I'm in. Was it a good thing or a bad thing well...

Killjoy 2: Deliverance from Evil

En route to a run-down shelter, they are set to renovate as community service, a group of juvenile delinquents and the two chaperones accompanying them run into a minor setback when their bus breaks down. When trying to find a phone, one of the teens is shot, and the group finds shelter with a voodoo priestess. While trying to use voodoo to save their friend, two of the teens accidentally unleash the evil spirit known as Killjoy.

The Beautiful Debbie Rochon
Well, here we go again more evil clowns to haunt my dreams this week. And this time around this clown is damn scary! Still set in an urban setting a group of troubled misfits are on their way to fix up a shelter. Of course, the movie's setup comes in the form of the hood open on the van with gibber jabber about how the motor sucks. **Gasp** do you think it might break down in the middle of nowhere?

Well of course. So the boys will split from the girls looking for help. yeah... and they find a... I bet you can guess... a Cabin in the wood duh silly reader! Now this does lead to a few good moments for the movie. First we run into the director Tammi Sutton making a cameo. At first I wondered who the hottie was so I had to investigate. Her character was one Brite spot of the movie. All though her death scene was a little weak I can live with it.
Don't screw with Sutton
Now they randomly kill this lady who yeah shot their buddy but what the hell dude?? And you knocked on her door to use the phone but you never use it. Yeah you suck!

So they bring the injured back to the van and head out to find yet another house. This one has the voodoo witch. Who is very cool by the way and played her part well! So let's talk about the cast for a sec shall we?

The young cast for the most part did a bang up job. I liked the cast in the first one but feel these guys got along and had more fun on the set. I'm going to say Debbie Rochon how is one of the hardest working women in horror **Gulp** drove me crazy in the movie. I just wanted her to stop talking at times. Maybe it was just me but not her best acting.

The Footage has Been Found

Reel Evil
2012 | Color | 78 Minutes | Widescreen | NR | Horror | 5.1 Surround Sound | Full Moon Features

Director: Danny Draven

Producer: Charles Band

Writers: Shane Bitterling

Stars:

Jessica Morris (Bloody Murder, Venom)
Kaiwi Lyman (Mega Python Vs Gatoroid)
Jeff Adler (Reel Evil)
Jamie Bernadette (Mortal Kombat: Rebirth)
Jim Tavare (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)

Struggling filmmakers - Kennedy, Cory and James - finally catch the break they were looking for when they are hired to shoot a 'behind-the-scenes' documentary for a major studio production. But their dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when they explore the legendary, haunted location and find something far worse than anything Hollywood could create. Terror becomes reality for the filmmakers as they uncover the malevolent secrets of the hospital, and the sinister doctor who once ran it. Trapped inside the hospital with no apparent way out, our crew is tormented by the evil, unspeakable fear.

I know another "found footage" movie right? Right but... somehow this one is different. When you talk about found footage we all think Blair Witch and how it makes you sick watching it. Well it's all that motion sickness you get from watching the jerky camera. Reel Evil finds fun and clever ways to address this issue. Sure they have the shaking going on but in a very minimal way.  When you have a strong plot and a good cast a movie like this is easy to watch.

Sure its a bit of a slow burn but once they break off into the asylum it gets going pretty good. The eerie atmosphere draws you in and keeps you guessing all the way through. Danny Draven shines with this movie. Everything works the sound, editing and cast are all perfect and fit in well. It has noting new to offer but is every much worth your time this Halloween season.

If your your into ghost's and things that bump in the night this movie is for you!

Ooga Booga follows an innocent African American boy who is brutally murdered by dirty cops, but his soul is magically transferred into an action figure named Ooga Booga. With on his tribal spear and old girlfriend to help he takes to the streets and trailer parks to find the men that ended his once bright future.

Well not sure how to start reviewing this movie but here it goes. The flick opens with Hambo as a returning character from Zombies Vs Strippers. The whole reason for this scene is to sell you new merchandise. Yeah it kind of sets you up for the kid's sole going into the doll but nothing more. In fact its anti climatic. Chucky at least had a point. This is the slowest part of the movie thank god.

So after being shot by the raciest cop, Devon is now trapped in a doll body then finds his girlfriend so they can seek out revenge. NOW I need to stop myself for just a moment. One thing I have always said Full Moon does better then Asylum is the they use less CGI. That all ended with fake head shot's with little to no blood. Infact it pissed me off! It really kills the mood of the movie. So Full Moon has dipped low in the cheap editing category.  Thats a Bummer. But on the plus side they did have more then one location. In fact the use of stagnet shots help the pace this time around.

**Spoiler**
Ok so Devon finds his girlfriend they hash out a plot to take down the cops and the bad guys. Thats when we meet Mrs. Allardyce played by Karen Black. She really picks up this movie. Her bizarre character his played well her lines are perfect and she really is the only reason to watch this movie. All thou the puppet work on this movie is some of the best they have done. The acting in this is just so so in fact they are a boring cast. Then comes some more cheep CGI blood splatters. The bad guys are gone and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy aka Ooga and his girl can live happy ever after I think because I don't remember the end of the movie. Oh yeah wait Hambo gets rich and sends them money every thing is right in this world.

So what did I hate about this movie

  1. Stacy Keetch - Horrible acting and they probably paid him well.
  2. The Racism. I get it they where trying to ride the coat tails of Dejango it just did not work
  3. Hambo I did not like him in Zombies vs Strippers and I did not like him here
  4. Wade Wilson must have been fresh from acting school just needs more time.
  5. The really bad Kid Rock rip off song.
  6. CGI head shots really!! Come on.
  7. Lame death scenes
  8. Poor acting
  9. A tired plot
  10. Total Chucky rip off
What did I like you ask well

  1. Maddex that plays skeez. This guy is a blogger that got asked to do this movie and he did well. I liked his character and he pulled it off.
  2. Ooga Booga himself was done really well. I can see this spawning a series.
  3. Locations as in more then one in fact they did a few. It really helped with the pace of the movie.
  4. Ciarra Carter. The only rookie in this movie that could act.
  5. Karen Black! I can't say enough about her she is wonderful.
Cairra Carter

The bad seem to out way the good. I wanted to love this movie it was a great idea. But for the second time with in a year Full Moon let me down. I cant say watch this unless your really into B movies like myself. And even then take warning this movie is mediocre at best. Its worth a rental just for the Video Zone.

2 Bloody Brain

I would almost give this 3 stars just based on Cairra Carter and Karen Black alone.

Double the action. Double the terror. Double the D's.

Piranha 3DD
2012 | Color | 83 Minutes | 1.37:1 | R |  Horror | Dolby Digital | Dimension

Director:
John Gulager (Feast 1-3)

Writers:
Patrick Melton (Feast 1-3, Saw 4-7)
Marcus Dunstan  (Feast 1-3, Saw 4-7)

Cast
Danielle Panabaker
Matt Bush
Katrina Bowden
Jean-Luc Bilodeau
David Koechner
Chris Zylka
Meagan Tandy
David Hasselhoff
Christopher Lloyd
Paul Scheer
Gary Busey
Clu Gulager

Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Though they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and take on these man-eating creatures using every ounce of their being but can they be stopped?

So how do you top and already over the top movie? You hire John Gulager and his buddy's Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan for a "Project Green Light" redo. Yep, the guys who brought you the Feast franchise are back to splatter more gore. This time they bring in some pretty big guns! I'm talking star power to match all that naked flesh.

The movie opens with Clu Gulager (Return of the Living Dead) and Gary Busy (Ginger Dead Man) pretty much being themselves. The old coots bounce off of each other with great tongue and cheek humor, and lead into a very young and likable cast. Add in comedic power of David Koechner (Waiting, Anchorman) who plays the sleazy co owner of the new Adult Strip Pool Water Park to a tee. Koechner should be up for some kind of award for a job well done. Then bring back some of the veterans like Ving Rhames and Paul Scheer, and Christopher Llyod put them into a blender add great non CGI effects, pour it out on to the page and you get Piranha 3 double d.

There is a lot to like here. David Hasselhoff pokes fun of himself and the many characters that he has played over the years. The plot is silly, but it is fun. There is plenty of nakedness to go around and tons and tons of gore. Look, at times the movie makes no sense, and is pointless but it does its job of entertaining you. For the most part it is very well written and Gulager proves that he should be taken more serious in Hollywood. He keeps a steady pace from beginning to end.  The camera angles are very thought out, and the fact that he did not stoop to the CGI level. Now its not 100% CGI free, you can not help but to appreciate the fact the he uses puppets and blends the two together well.

In the end this is a fun popcorn movie that will not let you take it serious enough to complain about it. The first Piranha (Remake) had more gore and blood but 3DD does not disappoint by any means. The cast is great looking cast that goes for the topless ones as well. If you liked the first one than this is a must. If you're a fan of 80's slashers then rent or buy this now! You won't feel cheated.

I give Piranha 3DD a very strong

Zombies Vs Strippers Oh My Here We Go!

Zombies Vs Strippers

Director:
Alex Nicolaou

Alex Nicolaou

Synopsis:
Zvi marks the directorial debut for Alex Nicolaou. The Tough Titty is a strip club that’s seen better days. But tonight it’s gonna see a whole lot worse. Spider has been losing money on his business for years. Now it’s finally getting the traffic he’s always wanted… unfortunately, most of his patrons are undead. With a sudden outbreak of the zombie virus, Vanilla, Bambi, and Sugar Hills deal with the disaster the way only a stripper can.

I'm going to review this movie a little bit different:

Here are 5 bad things about this film

1) The Set looks more like an Ikea then a Strip Club.
2) The soundtrack -ugh-
3) Stripping - OK I'm no expert on the matter but Demi Moore did a better job acting like a stripper.
4) Hambo - what the hell was this? Oh, wait this is so we can have an action figure someday.
5) Opening Credits- Good God-Man they gave me a headache.

Mom always said If you are going to say something bad about somebody you need to say something nice. So here are 5 things  10 things that make this movie good.

1) Alex Nicolaou - for his first film he did a good job. In fact, I hope he does more for Full Moon Features.
2) The girls are easy on the eyes (When they are not stripping)
3) A ton of Zombie and the makeup was top notch.
4) Gore factor! Yes for a full moon movie we get blood and face's being ripped off and gore! About dam time.
5) Circus-Szalweski it was nice of him to get in front of the camera and away from the microphone. He hit his mark as Spider.
6) The death scenes are well executed.
7) Brad Potts!
8) Tools used by the strippers to fight off the Zombies.
9) Going to say it again the Special FX are really not bad for a low budget movie.
10) No out of place full moon toys or merch anywhere!

And I could go on. This movie has a lot going for it. Strong cast, good directing and for every horror man fan out their Zombies and Strippers! Nothing too new on the whole Zombie overkill genera but a fresh take never the less. This is a good weekend movie to grab some bud's some beers sit and settle in for a good time! I would have to say for a $1 rental at the Redbox it is well worth it.

I give it:

Lincoln The Bad Ass

Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies
2012 | Color | 96 Minutes | 1.78:1 | R | Horror | Dolby Digital | Asylum

Director:
Richard Schenkman (the Man From Earth)

Writers: Karl T. Hirsch

Stars:
Bill Oberst Jr., (Nude Nuns With Big Guns)
Kent Igleheart
Rhianna Van Helton|
Ron Ogden

As Abraham Lincoln labors over the Gettysburg address, the importance of which he is fully aware, he learns that a menace from his past has returned, threatening to tear the already fractured nation to pieces. He must journey behind enemy lines to face a foe far more fearsome than the Confederate army: the walking dead.

OK, I'm  just going to say it! From beginning  to end this is a fantastic movie! Not what I was expecting at all. This movie has more going for it than not. The story was strong the directing was good and the acting was brilliant (more on that in a minute).

Now this movie does have some weak spots but for a low budget if you relax and get wrapped into this movie it does not matter. So on to  the weak, it is only a few things of course for a gore fest way to much CG blood. This is the broken record when it comes to Asylum. I was having trouble getting past some of this. At first, it was fine but it tainted the movie at times. Second the scenery felt out of place at times and to clean for a war zone but again easy to get best thanks to Karl Hirsch's writing. And last of the bad I swear it was the same 15 zombies over and over again. Sure I get it you need to save money someplace but change the clothes or the makeup so we die hard fans don't get too upset.

Now on to the good. This IS the strongest cast I have seen in an Asylum film ever! This is also one of  the strongest plots for this mockbuster! And they are not shy when it comes to spinning a big blockbuster and making it their own. This time, it truly worked. After watching Abe smack down some zombies I became a big fan of  Robert Ogden who played Robert Chamberlain. Between Ogden and Bill Oberst Jr. they made you forget about the bad CG and lame battlefield.

Living in the Land Of Lincoln I'm glad Bill Oberst Jr. represents  all that is well with honest Abe. Talk abut hitting the jackpot. Asylum had the right man for the role. He had the look the voice and the zombie killing mojo that made this movie enjoyable.

Abe's weapon of choice was fun and the way he whipped it out of his coat genius. And Abe's wit in this movie was top notch  even better than the time our 16th president helped the Star Ship Enterprise
on the planet Excalbia!

And before you complain about sleeping zombies just look at it this way before the nuclear fallout of today olden day Zombies needed there rest. Get over it! The ending of this movie was truly a high point. I'm not one for spoilers so I will not give anything away other than to say it was well done.

This is not the greatest movie ever but if you are looking for a time killer on a rainy day you owe it to yourself to see it. On the bright side if you see this you will soon be able to say I remember Bill Oberst Jr. when he was doing low budget films. Yes, he is the next big thing! And he should be on the top of the list for best portrayal our 16th President.

This movie does a good job kicking Zombie Butt! 4 yes 4 bloody brains out of 5 it is a good time!

Holy Crap the world is coming to an end that's 2 Asylum films that did better than 2 bloody brains.
