After a harrowing ride through the Carpathian mountains in eastern Europe, Renfield enters castle Dracula to finalize the transferral of Carfax Abbey in London to Count Dracula, who is in actuality a vampire. Renfield is drugged by the eerily hypnotic count, and turned into one of his thralls, protecting him during his sea voyage to London. After sucking the blood and turning the young Lucy Weston into a vampire, Dracula turns his attention to her friend Mina Seward, daughter of Dr. Seward who then calls in a specialist, Dr. Van Helsing, to diagnose the sudden deterioration of Mina's health. Van Helsing, realizing that Dracula is indeed a vampire, tries to prepare Mina's fiance, John Harker, and Dr. Seward for what is to come and the measures that will have to be taken to prevent Mina from becoming one of the undead.

Music Monday has become a staple on my site and I have already dug up some tones from the grave, new and old, so crank it up and dance your way into the Cave every Monday.

My main goal for this year is to finally watch the Halloween Tree. And I plan to watch it in style aka VHS baby! I have had this on VHS for a few years now so I just need to sit and press play. I also have a few other oddities planned.

Wednesday is exciting to me I have a few new ideas planned out. As the title suggests it will mainly come from Haunted House's and Yard Haunts from around our area. If this goes as planned I will be really pleased and you should be mildly entertained.

Breaking Svengoolie News

Our favorite ghoul Svengoolie his heading to the DC Universe this October! DC and MeTV are bringing fans one of the quirkiest pop-culture mashups of all time when SVENGOOLIE MEETS THE DC UNIVERSE, a series of custom inserts featured in DC comic books on sale throughout the month of October. Each two-page “chapter” will be written by DC Publisher and Svengoolie superfan Dan DiDio , with an assist from Svengoolie himself, plus art by Chris Jones.

“This is a dream come true for someone who’s been a life-long fan of DC super-heroes since I first got into comics as a kid,” says Koz. “I couldn’t be prouder to have Svengoolie standing side by side with these iconic characters. I definitely identify with them, too; after all, I have to put on my costume before I can do my job, too!”

On the run from (what else?) an army of homicidal rubber chickens, Svengoolie gets some unexpected help from Wonder Woman and John Stewart, who urge him to get to the Hall of Justice. But before he can make it to safety, he has to survive a showdown against the one responsible for these perilous pullets, The Joker!

You this guy has been pounding fingers on his Iphone makeing sure my comic book ordering friends know I need to get a hold of these so stay tuned this October for a complete review.

Amazing

We have torn down so many walls and yet have so many more to crumble. Just when you think nothing good has come out of the past few years take a look at America's Got Talent winner Kodi Lee during his Grand Final before taking home the victory. Lee is both Autistic and Blind with the voice of an angel. Thank you, Mr. Lee, for bringing down yet another wall that most people just can't get past. If he has taught us anything its Dreams Do Come True!

Punk Rock and Ska glad to have you back.

This week lets look at a few new songs that have hit the airwaves shall we? Frist up Greenday released the first song last week and feelings are mixed! I'm ok with them going back to there punk roots but this song just feels off. I'm excited about a new album so let us hope this song just happens to be the bands weakest.

So does anybody remember the big SKA movement of the mid 90's you know bands like Cherry Poppin Daddys, Big Bad Voodo Daddy, and the powerhouse band Reel Big Fish? NO? Shame on you you missed some great tunes. Working at a record store around the same time lead us to discovery bands that nobody heard of. One of those bands seems to have put it all together once again that band Buck O Nine! I loved these guys and posted a few months back that the released a new single to YouTube. Well, Somehow a new album came out this August and I missed but thankfully their new song popped up on my list and man I'm happy. Check it out and let me know in the comments how you feel about it.

Have a listen to their earlier single "Top Of The World"

Svengoolie Goes 4D Tonight!

4D Man
1959 | PG | 1 Hr 25 Min | Horror | Universal

Director: Irvin S. Yeaworth Jr.

Writers:
Theodore Simonson
Cy Chermak

Stars:
Robert Lansing
Lee Meriwether
James Congdon

Two brothers, scientists Scott and Tony Nelson, develop an amplifier that enables a person to enter a 4-dimensional state, which allows him to pass through any object. Scott experiments on himself and discovers that each time he passes through something he ages rapidly. He begins killing people, sucking out their life energies and regaining his youth as a result. It falls to Tony and Scott's girlfriend, Linda, to try to put a stop to his murderous rampage.

This one looks really good I know as its new to me. Sadly tho I have lost the U as it has changed to CW so my Sven viewing days are limited. Looks like the only option I have left is to use the app, and most likely how I will watch the film debut of Robert Lansing in 4D Man. The total number of non-practical effects shots of the 4D Man passing through objects in the entire movie is 14.

Also, be on the lookout for a young Patty Duke who has a small cameo as one of the 4D Man's victims. Catch the 4D Man tonight on MeTV at 8 pm eastern/pacific, 7 central, or, for time and channel where you are, check your local listings or at www.metv.com. MeTV invites you to join the other fans live-Tweeting on Twitter during the show- using the hashtag #svengoolie.

Your Music Monday History For September 9th

On September 9,1954 Elvis Presley played at the opening of the Lamar-Airways Shopping Center in Memphis Tennessee. Johnny Cash was in the audience and after the show met Elvis for the first time. Two years later Elvis made his debut on the Ed Sullivan Show performing 'Don't Be Cruel', 'Love Me Tender' and 'Ready Teddy' from the CBS TV Studios in Los Angeles.

In 1964 US newspaper The Hollywood Reporter ran the following advertisement; 'Madness folk & roll musicians, singers wanted for acting roles in a new TV show. Parts for 4 insane boys. And that is how the Monkees were born with over 437 people applying for the job.

And finally in 1989 New Kids On The Block scored their second US No.1 single with 'Hangin' Tough' now turn it up you know you want to.

The Werewolf Tonight on Svengoolie

The Werewolf
1956 | PG | 1 Hr 19 Min | Horror | Columbia Pictures

Director: Fred F. Sears

Writers:
Robert E. Kent
James B. Gordon

Stars:
Don Megowan
Joyce Holden
Eleanore Tanin

Plot:
Two scientists come across an auto accident and find an unconscious man in the wreck. They take him back to their lab and inject him with a serum they have been working with. Unfortunately, the serum has the effect of turning the man into a murderous werewolf.

I'm not sure that I have ever seen this one, defiantly looks worth checking out. The werewolf in this film was the screen's first science-fictional, non-supernatural lycanthrope. While possessed of incredible strength and ferocity, he could be killed by ordinary bullets and didn't require a full moon to cause transformation.

And for those of us that only have The U today at 11am we get the 1957's "The Gaint Claw"

Clown Rebelle

Jerry Lewis The Man Behind The Clown
2016 | G | 1 Hr 1 Min | Documentary | Hulu

Director: Gregory Monro

Writer: Gregory Monro

Stars:
Jerry Lewis
Martin Scorsese
Sean Hayes

Synopsis:
Since the early days, Jerry Lewis - in the line of Chaplin, Keaton, and Laurel - had the masses laughing with his visual gags, pantomime sketches, and signature slapstick humor. Yet Lewis was far more than just a clown. He was also a groundbreaking filmmaker whose unquenchable curiosity led him to write, produce, stage and direct many of the films he appeared in, resulting in such adored classics as The Bellboy, The Ladies Man, The Errand Boy, and The Nutty Professor. By becoming a "total filmmaker," Lewis surpassed expectations as a comic performer and emerged as a driving force in Hollywood. He broke boundaries with his technical innovations, unique voice, and keen visual eye, even garnering respect and praise overseas. However, American critics and the cultural elite tended to reject his abrasive art. While they viewed Lewis as nothing more than just a clown, others like the French recognized him as a true auteur, giving rise to questions that have perplexed American pop culture for over 50 years: Why do Europeans love Jerry Lewis? What is this inexplicable aversion Americans have towards him? Is he just a brash, anything-for-yuk buffoon? Or is he a creative genius? Who is the man behind the clown?

Sadly this falls short on "something new" being a big fan of Jerry and all that he has done for The Muscular Dystreofphy association I was looking for something to fill in the gaps of his later years. It may skimp on that part but I will say it did dive into his childhood a little more giving you a glimpse into what made him.  If you have never read his book or seen any other documentary about the man than this is a good little look into his life, with the big bulk being his early career.

On October 31st, will Robin be able to tell the difference between real evildoers and costumed children, or will the kids get clobbered while the villains escape?! Then, on Thanksgiving, Batman and Robin join the families of Gotham City around the table for a holiday feast.

Fresh off of Comic-Con I found this little gem from 2013's Halloween ComicFest. The first thing that jumps out at me was the odd art style by Dustin Nguyen. For me, it was strange at first with the simple use of watercolor and crude drawing style. But once the story gets going you quickly lose
yourself in the book.

The story opens up with Robin not knowing it was Halloween, not sure what rock he came up from but let's roll with it ok? So being Halloween he starts to clubber the "Bad Guys" not understanding what was going on he relizes he is attacking children. So Batman goes on to teach him how to trick or treat.

By the last page, you are kind of bummed it's over, the fast read hits on a high note as the villains get to go out in pubic like normal people thanks to the holiday. After the first ten pages, we jump into the Thanksgiving story arch. During the Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Penguin release an attack of the turkeys. Soon our winged ones save the day and we are then treated to Robin being a little bratty at the family dinner table. **Sigh** come on Robin.

Batman Li'l Gotham Special Edition was a fun little holiday read but I'm not sure I could read to many of these if they stick to the watercolor art and Robin being a brat. The Halloween story was wonderful and Thanksgiving was worth the time put into it.

So Batbrains Batman Li'l Gotham Special Edition gets a simple
