This Week's Pick-Ups

Nothing too crazy this week but it is all Halloween! Plus this little tree monster in the middle that was only 10 cents and he looked kind of cool. I love Wallace and Gromit so picking this up was a no-brainer. And Scooby Halloween for 20 cents I'm in.

My My Miss American Pie!

Sometime's my wife love's me and helps with my sad addiction to movies. She worked out of town last week and spotted a Dollar Tree and was so kind to go in and have a look around. My wife, well she hates the Dollar Tree so this was huge! I'm really glad she did as she scored me the American Pie on Blu that I was so upset that others were finding!

Kinky Kong and Cavemen!

Ok, this past week has been an odd one! So let's start with the really odd first shall we?

Yep, that's Kinky Kong I have no idea what this is but the title made me laugh so why not right? Well, what I did not know was it is one of those cheep knock off softcore movies so I'm not sure how good it will be but someday I just might watch it. I picked this up at SwapaDvd.com  I know I talk about that site a lot so here is some info. If you have old DVD's or Blu-Rays collecting dust or you just hated them you can trade them away for credits for buying what you want. You know like Kinky Kong! I have been doing it for years only burned once and that was the sites fault, not the trader.

Dollar Tree finds!

Not much this week mainly trades from Swapadvd.com and the Doller Tree has Blu's for a buck...

Amongst those Blu-Rays was Darkman and the DVD Arctic Blast. The Wraith game from swap but it was kind of gross so I'm pretty bummed about that one. Also from Swap I picked up.....

Best Pick Up week this year!!

Some pretty darn good scores this week. First, our second-hand store ran a VHS sale of 5 for a dollar so you know this goofball picked up a few of those. Also picked up about 20 kid books for our Little Free Library just to keep things fresh. They sell most of their kid books for a dime and I focused in on the 1/2 price books just so I could make my dollar stretch.

I can never pass up on Disney classic TV shows that you can no longer watch and that have never been on DVD yet. We already watched Aladdin and loved it. The value for Team Genie is around 4 to 5 bucks. Sing along Songs are always fun and it worth $10. Timon & Pumbaa will be watched soon and could fetch anywhere from $4 to $50 on Ebay so not a bad score there.

Halloween Mask

Updated added more pictures.

So I'm looking for a little help on this one. I picked this mask up at a school rummage sale last week. It is so bazaar and yet fascinating yet I have no clue where or what it is from. So I turn to you my blogger friends if you have any clues please let me know. Here are a few more pictures of the mask it has no markings or writing of any kind making it very hard to figure out.

Rankin/Bass and Charlie Band this weeks pick ups!

Some totally random stuff this week, first up my Full Moon Halloween sale items came. Well one of them my Puppet Master soundtrack is on back order. But I picked up Trophy Heads on Blu this is the movie I helped produce so we will see if my name makes the credits.

Oh, God!

Not a lot of time to run out to thrift stores and well garage sale season is over, but I did manage to pick a few things up. First up...

Oh, God starring George Burns, we watched this movie so many times on HBO that I'm pretty sure I will know it line by line still. Growing up was so much fun when you could watch this followed by Poltergeist. Next up and staying on the religious theme this VHS caught my eye.

The first thing that called my name was Hanna-Barbera and then to see Vincent Price along with Helen Hunt!! Sold!! I'm not familiar with this show and I'm one of those that does believe in Christmas and not just the presents aspect I'm looking forward to watching this. (After Thanksgiving of course) And while in the VHS section how could I pass up on this,

Nobody can go wrong with a little Hello Kitty and Christmas and it was only a quarter so this cheap ass had no problem picking it up. I'm sure the girls will be watching this soon. So that is it nothing to great so for now I just need to get a RED cup of coffee and settle into to some Christmas Cheer.

Trolls, Muppets and Ducks!

Time to get back to normal now that Halloween is over. Picked up some random things this past week. First up...

I could not pass up Troll 2 on Blu-Ray for $5.00! It is not that bad of a movie and a big part of our lifestyle. My wife grabbed 101 Horror Movies for me a great gift to cap off Halloween.

My Latest Pick Up's

Not much in the way of pickups lately but I had to share the VHS tape that I did pick up! Those of you that stop by from time to time know I love my Full Moon Horror. I have been trying to find anything I could on VHS but due to their popularity they are extremely hard to find here in the sticks.  So when I stumbled onto Puppet Master 4 on VHS my eyes grow large! I could not pick it up fast enough!

The case is a bit of a mess, but the tape looks good and plays just fine. The only other thing is that it is a promotional copy. But I'm  OK with that it's not like I'm going to watch the VHS tape too often the Blu-Ray is coming out soon. Just nice to have it on the shelf.

It was kind of odd to see trailers on here for a family show and a kid show from Paramount pictures long before Charles Band started to distribute once again. And yes I did watch it even with the watermark popping in and out every seven to ten minutes I still enjoyed it. It also has the Video Zone Magazine at the end which I did not have on the DVD copy so the was a treat. Plus at .25 cents you just can not go wrong.

Last, pick up was this cool vintage witch cut out. I just could not pass her up.

Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize!

Not much in the way of pickups this week but with Halloween approaching fast you can sure bet on some cool post's in the future. In fact, I only stopped at one thrift shop last week just to take a quick peek and found a few cool things.

So I picked up King Kong Vs Godzilla for the collection. It's such a classic and for me one of the best Godzilla movies around. Only paid a dollar and its value is a shocking $5.55. Next up a cute looking Halloween Special Lumpkin the Pumpkin. Looks like a cute little Halloween show that only runs 25 minutes. The plot seems to be a Halloween Contest is on among the spooky witches and Jack-O-Lanterns to see who can frighten the children the most. But Tara the Good Witch (of course there has to be a good witch) and Lumpkin don't want to be scary or play tricks. They show the girls and boys how to stay safe too. Looks like it was published in 1991 and has never made it to DVD. I paid 20 cents for this and the value on it is not too bad for a rare kid show at $4.76.

Next up was a Grim Grinning Ghosts that sings that line from the song. I was pretty excited about this I have never seen them before. So I had to do some digging many to see what I was missing and had to hunt for. Good news, I have found the only one in the set *phew*. This was from the Eddie Murphy flop Haunted Mansion. The rest of the Happy Meal Toys are really not needed thankfully. Here is a picture of the rest of them.

So I think I'm good no real need to find the others. This beauty is already in the cave on the TV stand. Yeah, I will put him away for Halloween and only plan on bringing him out once every year. So that's it for this week let the Halloween hunting begin!

Last week's Hoarding up!

Sorry, I have not posted my pickups in a while so I will have to do some catching up later. But for now last week was a good week for hunting. Also did a Horror Game Swap at Swapadvd.com that was fun. Ok so here we go first up part of my order from Full Moon came in.

Critters, Turtles, and Madballs!

So I'm  still posting about my huge pick up's from the more on 34 Garage Sale road trip that the girls and I went on. We do not hit the road to much in the hot July month. Or should I say the extremely wet July that we are having. I know I have already reviewed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles VHS that I picked up, but it does show up in this post as well.

This week we have more DVD's plus I show off what I picked up in the VHS department and finally some Comic Books as well. Next week I will post my Video Game Finds for you but for now here is a look at my finds.

Last Weeks DVD Pick-ups.

So I'm a  little behind on the pickup post's so let's play a little catch up shall we? These are from my adventure going up and down the More on 34 sales. I picked up quite a few tiles. First up...

Pick Ups for the week of June 8-14th.

Kind of a slow week this week. We really had no intention of hunting, but we were within a jump of the thrift shop so we ran in fast. Nothing too exciting they were running a 5 for a dollar on VHS tapes, but they only had one that I have never seen before. I just might venture out during the fathers day weekend for the big garage sale but not 100% on that yet. Click here for more information on the Route 34 Sales. I will never do the full 100 plus miles but still we hit a few of the bigger towns and that is more than enough for me.

First up this week a little mailbag. This month Delirium magazine came in. Outside of the Howling, it was kind of weak not there best effort but never the less still one of the better zins out there.

Great week for Pick ups!

Ok, gang, it was a great week for pickups. This week we had a few town-wide sales and the two big book sales of the year. Those said book sales are always good for some rare VHS tapes but not so much this year. In fact, the one book sale with the town-wide Garage Sale is where we start.

They had nothing and I mean nothing at this book sale. They usually have the books in some type of order like Horror, Romance etc nope not this year. My wife who collects and reads all the books has been disappointed the past few years and deiced to skip this year. I did pick up The Screaming Skull only because I like the cover art that has nothing to do with the movie itself. The girls found a book or two and that was it. In fact, that was all there was after stopping at a few sales. We did pick up on CD it was for Monsters University, but it was not the soundtrack it was music based on or something like that.

Some call it Junk I call them Treasures!

So this week I'm going to try something new and see how it goes. I have always been a movie collector and always shared my finds with my buddies and they would get pretty crazy seeing what I have found. So I thought why not join the club of Hunters out there and post my finds. I do not go out looking all the time but will try to post weekly. With all the book sales and garage sales coming up, I'm sure to find some cool stuff. So let us dive in shall we...
