Disney Scares for Halloween!

While everybody is talking about ABC's fall line up and its big title “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,”
amd “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” I feel like everybody missed so really cool news.

Just in time for Halloween, Disney/Pixar will reveal a new tale featuring favorite characters from the “Toy Story” films in a 30-minute special called “Toy Story of Terror” to air on ABC in October.

What starts out as a fun road trip for the “Toy Story” gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate.

The cast of “Toy Story of Terror” includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz, Joan Cusack as Jessie, Carl Weathers as Combat Carl/Combat Carl Jr., Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, Wallace Shawn as Rex and Kristen Schaal as Trixie.

Big Hero 6 Winter 2014

Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced "Big Hero 6" for 2014. Big Hero 6 is a superteam straight from the Marvel Comic universe. They first appeared in 1998. Disney has released a 30 second clip that features the unique high-tech city of San Fransokyo. Sorry not a typo its a mush up of Toyko and San Fransisco. Make sure you watch for the nod to Wreck It Ralph in the clip.

The plot of “Big Hero 6″ is described as:

An action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo. With the help of his closest companion—a robot named Baymax—Hiro joins forces with a reluctant team of first-time crime fighters on a mission to save their city. Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, and featuring comic-book style action and all the heart and humor audiences expect from Walt Disney Animation Studios.

A young teacher on her way to a position in Transylvania helps a young man escape the shackles his mother has put on him. In so doing she innocently unleashes the horrors of the undead once again on the populace, including those at her school for ladies. Luckily for some, Dr Van Helsing is already on his way.

What a great way to kick off Mothers Day Weekend and of course the 2nd annual May Monster Madness blog hop. For those you that did not catch the last few weeks Sven is back. He has been filming new Mail Bag segments.
Also when you check in tonight watch  in the opening scenes, the windows on the coach almost all alternate between open and closed from shot to shot. And its not Svensourrond but despite the fact the characters are all wearing winter clothes, in several night scenes crickets and frogs can loud…

RIP Ray Harryhausen

Raymond Frederick Harryhausen
Born: Los Angeles 29th June 1920
Died: London 7th May 2013.

The Harryhausen family regret to announce the death of Ray Harryhausen, Visual Effects pioneer and stop-motion model animator. He was a multi-award winner which includes a special Oscar and BAFTA. Ray’s influence on today’s film makers was enormous, with luminaries; Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Peter Jackson, George Lucas, John Landis and the UK’s own Nick Park have cited Harryhausen as being the man whose work inspired their own creations.

Harryhausen’s fascination with animated models began when he first saw Willis O’Brien’s creations in KING KONG with his boyhood friend, the author Ray Bradbury in 1933, and he made his first foray into filmmaking in 1935 with home-movies that featured his youthful attempts at model animation. Over the period of the next 46 years, he made some of the genres best known movies – MIGHTY JOE YOUNG (1949), IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE SEA (1955), 20 MILLION MILES T…
