Why are these not on DVD yet?

Ok, so the post earlier this week about the Mills Creek Dvd got me thinking about a few of those old movies that have not surfaced on DVD or Blu-Ray yet. You know those movies that you rented or watched on the big screen more than once. And the question still remains why the heck not?? Like for example the 1972 rat movie Ben is still not out on DVD is it because Michael Jackson's estate owns it? I know I do not know but here it the list of movies I wish was on DVD.

First up who does not love Joan Jett and Michael J Fox?

The siblings Patty and Joe Rasnick live in an industrial suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. While Patty is focused on their rock band, The Barbusters, Joe also cares for the family and the upbringing of Patty's young son, Benji. Their pious mother reproaches them for their way of life, especially when they quit their jobs and go on tour, taking Benji with them. However, when their mother is dying of terminal cancer, they return home and resolve their problems with her.

Have you seen this 1987 gem? You also get a glimpse at a young Trent Reznor who appears, with other members of his then band Exotic Birds as members of the fictional band, The Problems.

I'm pretty sure the royalty fees to put this out on DVD are huge leaving it to site a rotten. You can still find it on VHS but good luck with that also.

The R movie I was too young for.

Man when I was 14 I wanted to see this movie sooooooo bad! Why well I was in love with Lea Thompson bad! Man, she was so hot even in Howard the Duck I was in love! So when this (Yeah kind of dumb) flick hit VHS I was all over it and loved it. I would like to revisit this movie just to see if it was as good as I remember. I know the clip art says DVD but that is only if you buy it from Universal and it is a DVD-R so bare-bones just the movie ripped from the laser disk.

Eighties teen romp involving Bill and his new apartment, Jim and his rebellious antics, Tom and his crazy self, and Anita with her older man David.

Oh, and Cameron Crowe wrote this fine film of 80's glory you know the same guy that wrote Fast Times and Singles so you know this has to be good.

Ice Ice Baby

I worked in the theater for this movie, I still have the button for this movie and the banner hung in my apartment for some time! Yes, I liked Vanilla Ice's movie Cool as Ice! I don't know why it was just one of those silly movies that made you feel good. This came out when all the movies with rappers where New Jack City and Boyz in the Hood so it was a breath of fresh air.

The old teen rebel saga is updated for the rap crowd, unfortunately, rapper Vanilla Ice is the teen. Ice shows up on a neon-yellow motorcycle that gets everyone's attention, including the female honor student who has never had a rebellious bone in her body.

According to an episode of Behind the Music (1997) featuring Vanilla Ice, Robert Van Winkle was paid $1,000,000 for his role as Johnny Van Owen. The movie only made $1,193,062. Maybe that is why you can not buy it anyplace. But I still want it!

A boy, a girl, and a computer.

Wow, this 1983 love story was awesome for its day. I wore out the VHS copy I had and wish like hell I could find another one. Thanks to my Commodore 64 I was a huge nerd when it came to computers, and with a young and hot Virginia Madsen in the lead role, I left that dark theater feeling like I could do anything!

Miles buys himself a state-of-the-art computer that starts expressing thoughts and emotions after having champagne spilled down on him. Things start getting out of hand when both Miles and Edgar, how the computer calls himself, fall in love with Madeline, an attractive neighbor.

The cello piece played by Madeline (Madsen) in the song "The Duel" is the Minuet #4 in G I wore my cassette tape out listing to the song. Yeah, the soundtrack is wonderful too. You also get a great song by Human League "Together" you should youtube it!

And here it is the one flick that should be on DVD now!

Every time the summer Olympics draw near I say to myself this is the year they put out American Anthem! Hot off of Flamingo Kid Janet Jones took to the gymnastic mat and my heart melted.  And of course, for the ladies some guy named Mitch Gaylord.

Steve is a talented gymnast who has given up competition and is working at his father's bike shop. Julie is the new girl at his old gym, who has moved to town to train with their powerful coach. Inspired by Julie, Steve resumes training. While dealing with the conflicts in their personal lives and the stress of training, they prepare for the US Olympic Trials.

And the soundtrack for this one as well!! Man, I still listen to Andy Taylors Take it Easy on my workout playlist. This movie is part of the Warner Brothers collection so you can get it on DVD but again it is just a DVD-R so I'm not sure how good it will look. For now, I will stick to my VHS copy.

Wham-O

Did you know on this date 1957 the Frisbee was born? Fred Morrison discovered a market for the modern-day flying disc in 1938 when he and future wife, Lucile, were offered 25 cents for a cake pan that they were tossing back and forth on a beach in New Haven, CT. Hmm now you know.

I loved playing with the Frisbee spent hours of my summer afternoons with my best bud just tossing the disk.

Day Of Acceptance

Today is International Day of Acceptance, January 20th is a day dedicated to the social acceptance of disability and to honor the late Annie Hopkins, founder of 3E Love and creator of the International Symbol of Acceptance.

What is Acceptance?
Acceptance is created from an Empowered movement that Educates others to Embrace diversity and Love Life by seeing beyond abilities.

A disability comes in many shapes and sizes not just what is in front of you. For example, Ella's diabetes might be evident but you would never know she fights anxiety every minute of her day as well.

So today take a moment watch a video on a disability or read an article visit www.dayofacceptance.com or any other website and learn something new today!

New Year, Old Me!

You know how they say New Year New Me well that does not apply to me. I just want the 2015 early 2016 version of me back! See for a few years now I have taken control of my health I mainly just want to feel good and live long. We last summer I was hit with a major health issue that I have to live with the rest of my life and some other health thing called plantar fascitis that hurt like hell!! All of that came at the end of May so for the rest of the year I tried to stay on my health journey and sadly failed!

I was taking life one day at a time back then losing around 35 pounds but I did it the healthy way of eating right and exercise. Never did I do stupid things that would gain all my weight back. I took my time walked logged my food you name it! So when I was sick I still tried yet I could feel my mood slip away and my guy slowly come back.

Fast forward to now I put back on 20 pounds I still do not feel great but I can no longer let that keep me down! I have already started the path to get back to health this year with a few bumps in the road already. I remember how hard it was to start the first time and how rewarding it became when I stuck to it. So far without any exercise that burns serious calories I was proud to step on the scale and see that I already lost 4 pounds in a week! And that is without stressing about my workouts. But those are coming soon I promise.

So I'm going to use my blog as kind of a springboard to keep my grounded so I hope you guys do not mind I post about Health from time to time! So here is an Older New Model of me! Now if I could just stop drinking Diet Mountain Dew!

Hey its Kevin Costner's Birthday!

So last year I said that I would do more of these Top 5 list's, in fact, part of my Blog New Year Resolution was to try and do one a week. So here we are 3 weeks in and I have failed. Well, fail no more by readers as today is a new day!!

The fact of the matter today is Kevin Costner's birthday! Yes, the man that has brought us 57 movies at his young age of 62. So I thought it would be fun to list off my top five Costner films! And no Waterworld is not on the list you silly monkeys!

Number 5

How can you go wrong with a few of my favorite things? Baseball meets one of my hero's Sam Rami in this turd of a movie! Yeah, the movie is not great to most but I can not hide my love for baseball or Rami so it find's itself on the list.

Detroit Tigers Veteran Pitcher Billy Chapel (Costner) has always been better at baseball than at love. Just ask Jane (Preston), his on-and-off girlfriend. After a bad season, just before he is about to start in what could be his final game, Jane tells Billy that she's leaving him...for good. Now with his career and love-life in balance, Billy battles against his emotional and physical limits as he strives for a Perfect Game. The suspense is never drawn back in this heartwarming drama about life, love, and risking it all For Love of the Game.

Kitty Power's comes to the Xbox

I love it when a different style game comes to the console. And dating sim's are the rage over sea's so for one to hit the states seems fair. I also like the idea that it is an LGBTQ-friendly game, tho the focus will be more on straight relationships.

Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker originally came out for mobile in 2014, with a PC release following in 2015. These console ports will expose the game to a wider audience.

“Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker isn’t just a fun dating sim, it’s also really about love being for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality, hair color, or penchants for giant robot anime (Miaow!),” game director Richard Franke said in a press release sent to GamesBeat. “We were overwhelmed and humbled by the positive response of Kitty Powers’ Matchmaker on the smaller screen and are so excited to bring it to a wider audience on PS4 and Xbox One.”

The console versions will add new features, including an updated avatar system and new, dynamic dialogue. These additions could give those who tried the game on mobile or PC a reason to check out the console versions.

With no SRP yet the game will hit the digital stores this February 7th, awe how sweet just in time for Valentine's day.

As crazy as the game sounds I just might have to check it out, only because I really like sim games.

God Bless This Mess?

Really digging the new Breaking Benjamin, going to add this to my workout playlist.

But I'm not so sure yet on the new Bon Jovi what do you guys think?

Happy Birthday Mom

We sure do miss you! May you have a great day in Heaven!!

One this Day in 1967

The first Super Bowl was played on January 15, 1967 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles, California. The National Football League (NFL) champion Green Bay Packers defeated the American Football League (AFL) champion Kansas City Chiefs by the score of 35–10.

But today being a Dallas Cowboy fan stuck in Illinois I look forward to watching what should be a very tight and well fought game! So grab the guacamole and chips and get ready for some football!

Live with purpose. Love with purpose.

Gleason

Mike Gleason
Scott Fujita
Michel Varisco-Gleason

After he is diagnosed with ALS, former professional football player Steve Gleason begins making a video diary for his unborn son, as he, his wife, and their friends and family work to raise money for ALS patients as his disease progresses.

Beautiful, brilliant, sad, heart warming!

Friends till the end, remember?

Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic "tool" to facilitate his patients' group sessions - an all-too-familiar "Good Guy" doll with an innocently smiling face - a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn't crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky's now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child's Play, races to Nica's aid. But to save her he'll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky's long-ago bride, who will do anything, no matter how deadly or depraved, to help her beloved devil doll.

I don't know about you but I'm good with getting a new Chucky movie! This is the first Child's Play movie, since 1991's Child's Play 3, that will feature the character of Andy Barclay as the main protagonist. Andy did, however, make a post-credit scene at the end of 2013's Curse of Chucky. That was more or less a fan service scene lasting less than 5 minutes, though. I will be sure to keep you guys posted on this one.

Nature just got gangster

A coming of age story of friendship in the most peculiar way! This movie has it all heart, spirit, comedy, and adventure. Hunt for the Wilder People is downright amazing.

#EmojiMovie why?

What the Hell is this world coming to??? I get it emoji's are everywhere we have one hanging on our Christmas Tree and pillow's, pretty sure my youngest has them on her pants. But a movie! God make it stop.

Here is the story line:

The Emoji Movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favorite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone's user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression - except for Gene, an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become "normal" like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak. Together, they embark on an epic "app-venture" through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it's deleted forever.

UGH...

And the sad news is an August release date so we get to hear about it for the next 8 months! So far it is a pass for me, what do you guys think?

We ended 2016 with a bang! For the most part we as a family (a rare chance for all of us to set down together and not have to work) watch a movie on New Years Eve. We try to pick one that we all wanted to watch earlier in the year and never had a chance. Ghostbusters was met with some mixed reviews through out the house, for me well...

2017

From my Family to yours may 2017 be a magical year!

A new year is like a blank book. The pen is in your hands. It is your chance to write a beautiful story for yourself. Happy New Year!
