Five Creepmas Movies

The kick-off to Creepmas is here! Take a look at Five low budget movies that fit the Creepmas theme. And let me know in the comments if you have seen any of these fine gems or plan on adding them to your queue for this year's festive haunts.

Santa Shark

Trying to survive the family Christmas, Cody makes a wish to be alone, which ends up backfiring when a shark manifests and kills his entire family. It should come as no surprise this is on my watch list.

Two Front Teeth

It's the night before Christmas and Gabe Snow, a tabloid writer haunted by the Ghosts of Christmas past, is investigating a Yule Tide conspiracy. Gabe knows that Flight 1225 was brought down one foggy Christmas Eve, by a flying creature with a "glowing nose". Now, a blood-sucking Vampire - Santa Claus - has put Gabe on his list and unleashed the demonic fury of the North Pole. An army of zombie elves, who have no interest in Toys or pointy hats or dentistry, are about to turn Gabe's white Christmas blood red. Will Gabe find the true meaning of Christmas? Can he stake a heart that's two sizes too small? What will he find under his tree?

Slay Bells

It's Christmas Eve, and three cosplaying women come across the malevolent Christmas demon Krampus. The girls must team up with Santa Claus himself to battle the creature and save the world. Also added to my watch list this year, yeah love that low budget goodness.

Mother Krampus 2: Slay Ride

It's Christmas time in Cleveland, Ohio and four young ladies are on the verge of completing their mandatory thirty days of community service. With only one night to go, they are required to make a series of in-home visits to the older and less fortunate. Upon arriving at their final stop for the night, they become introduced to a pleasant older woman who graciously welcomes them into her home for the evening. However, as darkness falls and the cold settles in, they begin to realize that there is far more to their seemingly innocent host than meets the eye.

A Wrestling Christmas Miracle

Not everything has to be blood and guts for Creepmas just Creepy right? So check out the trailer for this odd-looking family comedy. The good news for those who want to sit through it (Me) it's streaming on Prime!

An 11-year old phenom wrestler with an undefeated record, Kace Gabriel gives up the sport to write/direct a movie. He believes that if the film makes his best friend, Charlie, laugh on Christmas Day it will awake the boy from a coma. Kace's dad, Ajax Gabriel, an Olympian wrestler with a mysterious side career, supports his son's wish, cautioning that the friend may never come out of his slumber. A week before Christmas, the movie is produced - with Ajax and a zany cast of characters starring in it - ready to make all laugh. Ajax departs to Africa, where he headlines The Christmas Coup in the Congo, a wrestling tournament that has him scheduled to return on Christmas, just in time for the movie presentation to Charlie. Instead of all going as planned, however, the sole hard drive containing the movie is stolen by disgruntled, bumbling actors. And The Christmas Coup in the Congo turns out to be a real coup with the overthrow of the country's communist dictator - and with Ajax being right in the center of it all. Kace and his mother, unable to get in touch with Ajax in the Congo, go on a crazy cat and mouse game in trying to retrieve the movie hard drive that is being held for ransom. What ensues is an inspirational, funny thrill ride, with twist after twist - and a climatic, unexpected ending that could only happen on Christmas.

Well, I hope this helps fill your stocking with fun cheap, and silly Creepmas movies! Sure I will write a review for Santa Shark why not, lol check back later.

In the meantime stop by the other Creepers celebrating Creepmas!

Five Movie Gems from October

I have not done a top five in a while and wanted to break one out today chatting about the five best movies I watched during the Spooky Month of October. Normally I set a plan going into October, and I did only in true 2020 fashion I jumped around and skipped almost the entire list. What was great about that I found some gems!

Halloween at Aunt Ethel’s 2019 Amazon Prime

Everyone in town knows the story of Old Aunt Ethel. It’s said she makes Halloween candy and pumpkin pie out of the kids that trick-or-treat at her house. This Halloween, the neighborhood teens are going to find out the truth. Simply put this fun ride is a very low-budget movie with some heart. The story is fun the cinematography is not too bad. Aunt Ethel is a hoot. Now the acting well slows down the movie just a tad but that should not stop you from checking out this flick. This is right up the alley for teenage boys with plenty of nudity, alcohol, and drugs. The ending was worth the build-up.

Don’t F*&k in the Woods 2016  Tubi Tv (FREE)

A group of friends are going on a camping trip to celebrate graduating from college. But once they enter the woods, the proverbial shit starts to hit the fan. Man, this movie left its mark on my brain. In fact, my buddy at work, and I were talking about it again! Yes, it's a very low budget, poorly acted, and has a ton of silly sex. Yet the story is great, the monster is great, and the gore is perfect! It's about as much fun one can have in 73 minutes trapped in a low-budget flick. I love this movie and will watch it again maybe even for next Halloween who knows. Thanks again to COVID the sequel is in limbo and I will watch that one as well.

Mr. Boogedy 1986 Disney+

A novelty-salesman moves his family into a new house. Initially dismissing incidents as more of their father’s practical jokes, the family soon learns that the house is haunted by people who lived in the house 300 years previously. This was a scream! At a fast-paced 44 minutes, you did not want it to end. A brilliant ghost story that was perfect for kids and Halloween. I'm just sad it took me 34 years to discover Mr. Boogedy! If you have Disney+ or plan on getting into the service soon check this one out.

4 Bloody Brains

Never Hike Alone 2017 YouTube

A hiker’s survival skills are put to the test when he stumbles upon the remains of camp crystal lake and discovers its long dark secrets. This fan-made Friday the 13th film is amazing! With plenty of tension suspense and a hard dose of realistic tone helps set Never Hike Alone apart from fan films setting the bar really high. And when the last 15 minutes kick it make sure to breathe once and a while!! Never Walk Alone and its sequel are free on YouTube just Click here.

Hubie Halloween 2020 Netflix

Look let's not fight about Hubie ok? For me it just hit different I really laughed hard and had a great time with this special. I would not be surprised if it lands on my top ten movies of the year list. In case you are under a rock Hubie Dubois who, despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween. Is Hubie perfect no is it a fun escape from life yes. Currently, on letterboxd, it's averaging at 2 1/2 stars with only 1% of us giving it 4 1/2 stars, and that's ok. not every movie is made for everybody, In fact, who knows I might watch it again next year and hate it.

4 out of 5

Well that's it I was shocked that my goal was to watch 20 movies for Halloween. When I looked back at a shattering number of 41 movies, shorts, and specials I was pleased with myself. I really have found my love for movies once again. According to Letterboxd, I have logged 143 movies (Goal was 75) by the end of October and November has been no slouch as well. I guess in a way COVID was not a bad thing for me keeping me in our house.

So what are a few good Christmas movies I should be checking out? Let me know in the comments below.

Five Tunes you May Have Missed

There as been a ton of new music that seems to slip through the cracks right now. Let's take a look at five you may have missed. First up jumping on the Tiger King bandwagon...

And the Tiger King lives on...

The official video for Chris Cornell's tribute to Guns N' Roses classic song "Patience". After helping his daughter Toni learn the song, Chris Cornell got inspired in March of 2016 to record the song himself after hearing the news that Guns N' Roses were reuniting. Released in celebration of Chris's 56th birthday. Let me know in the comments how you feel about this cover, it's different but in a good way right?

Any time I can talk about one of my all-time favorite bands I'm going to! Enuff Z’Nuff’s new studio release, “Brainwashed Generation” showcases a diverse collection of songs that demonstrate the progression of musical styles in the Enuff Z’nuff catalog, all while retaining the undercurrent that has kept them a loyal fanbase since the ‘80s. PS this is the band's 21st album!

Phil Lewis and Tracii Guns are back and they have released a new single, 'Let You Down'. The song was written and recorded this past month while the band is in the midst of work on their next studio album. The band was so struck by the song that they felt the need to release it immediately rather than sit on it for the next studio album. This was the band I was to see on July 4th with Enuff Z'nuff, dang you Coronavirus.

With their lasting durability, iconic rock band Stryper returns with their 13th studio album, "Even the Devil Believes". Filled with the band’s signature riffs, harmony-laden melodies, and positive themes, the 11-track project is Stryper’s first studio album with Perry Richardson (Firehouse) on bass and background vocals.

Bowling For Soup

The NIcest Man in Hollywood

Looking back on the long career of Tom Hanks after winning the Cecil B. DeMille Award I decided to challenge myself. With 87 titles under his belt, I thought Hmm what are my top five. I remember way back in the 80s renting Splash for family movie night to working for Big in my infancy as an ushering at the local theatre. The man has put out a fine body of work and be warned Toy Story and Forrest Gump did not make the cut unless I extended this list.

Number Five

That Thing You Do! A movie about a one-hit-wonder was also directed by Hanks. I'm a sucker about movies based around music.

Number Four

Such a fantastic flick. Hanks was nominated for an Oscar for Green Mile.

Number Three

What exactly are they going to do with that egg beater? That's what my 13-year-old mind kept asking. I have probably watched this way more that one should while growing up.

Number Two

Another Hanks movie that had me seating people in the theatre. I loved working for this movie and sits pretty high on my favorite all-time baseball movie. I would sit in the back of the show every chance I could get watching and laughing Hanks never got old in League of their Own.

Number One

Apollo 13 blew me away and still does. It seems like you get Ron Howard and Tom Hanks together you get one hell of a fun ride! So there you go so many great tiles narrowed down to my top five. Don't get me wrong I like Forrest Gump, Cast Away, and Philedapha but I kept my list to five. Do you think you could do it? How much different would your list look like? Let me know in the comments below.

Who Farted?

Ok, so the other day no less than five articles about farting showed up on my Pinterest page. Now I have no idea why it's not like I looked up Farting or taking a dump but yet here they are. So guess what I read one of them and sure it was funny and yet I learned something.

So here are the top five things I learned about Farting.

Number One

Men fart a lot! They fart more than women! Well duh but I bet you did not know a Fart from females stink much more than male farts as females possess a higher grouping of hydrogen sulfide. Female farts are also more beneficial to smell.

Number Two

Adult people fart about 14 times a day on average which means that the air which comes out of the anus 14 times a day can fill up a balloon and Farting can go as quick as 10 feet per second

Number Three

The creatures which fart the most are termites. Others include sheep, camels, elephants, canines (especially retrievers and labs) and zebras.

Number Four

In case of a tight sphincter, your farts will be louder.

And Number Five...

The word itself was created in 1962. It means that wind comes out of the anus.

So yeah you can learn something on Pinterest.

My Top Video Games Played In 2018

Wow, the end of 2018 drawers near and 2019 is ready to go! It's that time to take a look back on some of my favorite video games I played this year. This year I seemed to have played more games than usual logging in 42 new tiles yet picking my top 5 was pretty easy what was not easy ranking them one through five.

Number 5

Man what a crazy game Serial Cleaner turned out to be. This PC tile looks like a simple puzzle game but it is not! Drenched in a varnish of ‘70s retro stylings, from its funky soundtrack to its desaturated color palette, it’s incredibly aesthetically pleasing. This stealth game has you sneaking into a crime scene to clean up the blood, gather the evidence and bag the bodies. While the stealth mechanics are broadly similar to the cone-of-view Metal Gear Solid system; blunder into an enemy’s eye line and they’ll immediately pursue you. If they catch you, it’s instant death and back to the start of the level.

All though very frustrating for this simple gamer I would have to put down the joystick and walk away for a bit. But the whole time I can not stop thinking about the puzzle that I can not beat and end up back in the computer chair going at it again.

Number 4

State of Decay 2 seems to be a hit and miss with people on my end of the screen its a little of both. See when the game first starts out it is white-knuckle, balls to the wall zombie fest. As you gather your team and find a place to call home its time to grind it out with a long list of "To Do's". I simply could not put the controller down at first looking for food, ammo, health, and others to stay alive in its beautiful baron landscapes. Then the game turns on you and gets really hard for a simple gamer like me. All this did was make the old ticker beat faster and verbal obscenity flung at the tv screen, but I liked it!

Sadly the grind gets old fast and the lack of zombies gets old after while I like the building up your team aspect but sadly other games came along and took me out of the Decay that my State was in. The game looks good to play and honestly, I should go back and see what is going on with my team.

State of Decay 2 still stands tall as one of the best games I played this year.

Number 3

Friday the 13th is the second-spookiest day of the year, so when it rolled around back in April Jason fans where treated to Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle. With its light, silly, and utterly gore-drenched gameplay Killer Puzzle is a simple block-sliding puzzler dressed up as a slasher horror hooked on its splatter-rampage. He’s a good boy, really – listens to everything his mum tells him. What was really great about Killer Puzzle was Jason himself from all the flicks like Jason part 2 and Uber Jason from X. And if that's not enough you will also get a few other surprises along the way like Butcher Jason or Frozen Jason. And those cutscenes those glories blood splattered cutscenes!

For a free game, the challenge grows stronger never allowing it to get boring and challenging enough that you have to walk away from it even if just for a bit.  I'm pretty sure this is still a free download for the PC check it out here. Those poor poor campers.

Number 2

This is one of those games made for gamers like me with short races, simple controls, and easy layout and an open world letting me pick where to go next. And with some sweet rides, good tunes (although at one point I turned the radio off) and most of all Season's Forza 4 is a fun ride. In fact, when I first fired up my racing machine I was not impressed. Sure it looked good but the control took me a bit to get used to and honestly I just wanted to see all the seasons. So the other day I sat down to give this another spin trying to find my way to Autumn the greatest season of them all. As I was gliding through the races and time I found my self getting better at driving and started winning race after race. And once the leaves changed colors I was hooked. So hooked I played for almost 6 hours straight just to play through the final two seasons.

I was hooked no lie I just could not put the controller down, I get it the hype for this game is real and let me remind you I'm a simple gamer for those die hard's you can really tweak your car for an even better experience and yet here I was having a blast. Then I made it to winter and oh man the open world turned beautiful. From the colorful town's to the open rode Forza looks amazing and plays well. I'm glad I gave this one a second chance.

Drum roll, please...........

(Deep Voie) and now Number One!

Ask anybody that comes in contact with me from family to co-works to my faithful readers Stardew Valley is still my all-time favorite game and still played today! I have logged hundreds of hours into its gameplay and along comes Graveyard Keeper an edgy, much cooler, cousin of Stardew Valley. In this eerie sandbox style game, you take control of the Graveyard Keeper, an unnamed protagonist who is transported to this dark and gloomy world after a traffic accident. You are quickly introduced to your new best friend, the skeletal head of Gerry, who will help you out in getting started in your new morbid profession. After getting a lay of the land you will be introduced to comrade donkey, the capitalist hating, body transporter who will bring you fresh corpses regularly.

A majority of your time will be spent working all day gathering supplies from the surrounding area to bring back to your front yard and construct components for other crafts and items, then retiring to your home to sleep in your bed to regain energy and any health you have lost. The game has a multitude of characters and often they provide quests the progress the story and unlock new sections of the game. Often, these characters only come on a specific day of the 6-day week similar to Animal Crossing.

In fact, this game blends together Starwdew Valley and Animal Crossing very well giving it a simplistic in design and complex enough to get sucked in for hours at a time. The music is creepy and bouncy, like the perfect Halloween song you’ve never heard. The visuals are just as convincing, with rolling waves of fog, rainstorms, and all around a dark atmosphere of death that even during the daytime feels gloomy. I have thoroughly enjoyed all my time spent with this game and would recommend it to anyone looking for a low-stress virtual escape. Graveyard Keepers is by far the best game I played all year and as you can see I played a few great games this year. And even though I have not poured the hours into this one yet I will and plan on playing for hours over Christmas break!

Mr Keeper your simply the best!

So what was your favorite game of 2018? Let me know in the comments below and look for my not so favorite games played this year later today.
