Deep in an inner city hell, a ghastly figure is killing off the bad guys.
A vigilante, or a demon? For the beautiful high school student, JADA, that’s the question that will bring her face to face with the killer clown!
So I have not sat and wrote a review in awhile but the other day I decided to sit and revisit Full Moon's Urban fair Killjoy. Killjoy is an a fun little franchise that gets better with age or should I say sequels. The first thing you notice is the very young and very talented cast. The movie opens with the story of love that can never happen.
Nerd loves girl, girl loves gangster, gangster beats up nerd, nerd summons a killer clown. Yep, that's it and I like it!
One of the best things a low budget movie can have is a cast that fits the story. You really get the sense that they live in this world. Ross blends in thugs with students seamlessly. And its a very good looking cast to boot. And of course with it being a scary movie you get those naked boob's that make it well worth it.
Now after Michael (Kareem J. Grimes from Boyz in the hood) tries to bring back Killjoy that's when the fun begins. The kills are a little week and lead you to believe the $150,000 budget went to the clown make up. In fact, one of the thugs fills Killjoy with 21 rounds of lead from a six-shooter. Oops.

When it comes down to it though Killjoy is not a bad slow burning horror movie. The clown is a great idea and has lead itself to a fantastic franchise that has matured as it goes on. The fist movie is a little week but still very important in the series. If you like clown movies grab some couch and fire up Full Moon Streaming and enjoy... Killjoy that is.
Hey, you punk ass clown I give you...
