It Knows what scares you.

Zelda Rubinstein to me was the scariest person ever. I'm pretty sure if I would have met her on the street as a little child I would have run screaming all the way. It was not that she was evil, but Poltergeist was and still is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen.

Yet we had to have watched it 100 times as kids. And Rubinstein's voice will always haunt me in a good way. I just felt compelled to include her during this look back from the past month.

If you have liked anything I have posted please follow me. A few other blog-a-thons I will take part of will be May Monster Madness and, of course, my person favorites Count Down To Halloween and Creepmas.

I know that I mainly write about Horror, but I promise that is not everything I will write about. I do thank you all from the bottom of my heart for stopping by it has been fun.

Yogi!

Yogi and Boo Boo will always be child hood hero's of mine. I had it at when it came to these two. Board Games, comci books, colorforms, and of course coloring books. I loved every special that was on and I still have Christmas and Easter VHS Tapes of this dynamic duo.

And I made mention the other day on how bad the Underdog movie was well I liked the Yogi movie. In fact I felt it was very well done and could easly watch it again.

I can not thank you enough for stopping by during the month of April for the A to Z Challenge. I can not beleive that I have made it this far. One more day to go! I sure hope you have enjoyed your time looking back with me.

X is for Xenomorph!

Xenomorph aka Alien. And growing up in the late 70's early 80's all the older kids would brag about the chest bursting scene from Alien. Man I could not wait to see this movie.

Finally one late night mom and dad where sleeping and this bad boy was on HBO. You know  HBO when it was really just a box that you had to flip the brown switch on. Well any way it was late it was dark I was young and this movie scared to poop out of me! Boy did I learn my lesson to listen to mom and dad. But yet I could not stop talking about it and the next time it was on my parents wanted to watch it. Guess what I watched it for a second time and many more after. What a great movie. What a great childhood.

Thanks Mom and Dad.

Don't for get to check out the other blogglers during the A to Z Challenge.

Wonder Twin Powers Activate!

Ah back to Saturday morning cartoons and Zan and Jayna as the Wonder Twins. The super friends where a big part of my life growing up. And I seemed to like the underdog superheroes the best.

The Wonder Twins were two alien siblings from the planet Exxor. Arriving on Earth, they soon endeared themselves to the heroic team, the Super Friends and acted as the team's official sidekick/mascots for a brief duration. Originally, the Wonder Twins were exclusive to the continuity of theSuper Friends animated series and the Super Friends comic book adaptation, but they were later re-imagined for the modern Post-Crisis environment and introduced in the pages of Extreme Justice.

He's Back!!! The World's Most Evil Man with a Fiendish Plan of Conquest

The Castle Of Fu Manchu
1969 | Color | 92 Min. | 1.85.1 | PG | Action | Mono | Blue Underground

Source: Full Moon Streaming

Director:  Jess Franco

Writers: Manfred Barthel

Stars:
Christopher Lee
Richard Greene
Howard Marion-Crawford

The evil mastermind Fu Manchu plots his latest scheme to basically freeze over the Earth's oceans with his diabolical new device. Opposing him is his arch-nemesis, Interpol's very British Dr. Nayland Smith.

Ugh, not the movie I should have started with. I always hear about these Fu Manchu movies and sold a bunch when I worked at a video store. Today I was looking for something different and stopped on Jess Franco's vision with Castle of Fu Manchu. I don't know what I was thinking I should have read up on it first I guess. But I like to go into things not knowing so I can make my own opinion open minded. Slow burn's are ok if they end well but not this movie. In fact, fast forwarding became the norm. This movie was so bad I could not stand it. Yet I went to the end even if I did other things like laundry.

One Bloody Brain out of 5

eBay Horror Tiles

I have been cleaning up my Horror Collection this week and decide it's time to move a few of these tiles. I have been a big fan of Swap a DVD for many years, but some of my tiles don't move very fast. So I'm going to give eBay a try. Here is what I  started with.

 Hellbound Hellraiser 2 VHS

For some goofy reason, I had two copies of this one. The last one I bought the other day is a rare copy so I'm going to keep that one and try and dump this one. Feel Free to Bid on it here.

Archie Vs Sharknado coming soon.

Is it wrong that I already pre-ordered this book? I know that the whole Archie comic line has gone off the deep end but I'm a sucker for anything Sharknado.

This summer, just in time for Syfy’s SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO!, fans will see an unexpected, jaw-dropping twist to the Sharknado saga - in Riverdale USA! Just when Archie and the gang think they can kick back and enjoy a few months of beaches, naps and sun, they’re faced with a storm of sharknados - heading straight for their hometown of Riverdale. Archie and his friends have to battle the incoming pop culture storm as it creeps up the “Feast” coast to Riverdale - and then try to save what’s left of their hometown. Who lives? Who dies? Read the book!

The most Kick ASS Villain ever.

Back in 1988 I was pretty much over the comic book thing and had moved on to more important things like...girls. I was a huge Spiderman fan growing up so when all the buzz came about with the Venom character my curiosity was peaked. So without telling my buddies I snuck down to the comic book store to pick up my copy! I was hooked right away.

I would buy them from time to time but it was not until I was working at a production studio that I found myself reading comic books again. All the guy's I worked with helped me get caught up in the Marvel Universe.

And who could forget those hard Venom video games on the NES or Saga that took many hours of my day. Still to this day Venom has to be one of the coolest villains ever!

The A to Z Challenge is almost over I can not believe I have made it this far. If you like what you have seen please feel free to follow me. I'm not always posting about Horror movies I promise.

Underdog is here!

There's no need to fear! Underdog is here!

when criminals in this world appear
and break the laws that they should fear
and frighten all who see or hear
the cry goes up both far and near
for Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

when in this world the headlines read
of those whose hearts are filled with greed
who rob and steal from those who need
to right this wrong with blinding speed
goes Underdog! Underdog! Underdog! Underdog!

speed of lightning, roar of thunder
fighting all who rob or plunder
Underdog. Underdog!

Know try and get that theme song out of your head. Loved watching Underdog as a child. Was not a fan of the live action movie tho. That was kind of lame.

T for Tick. Spoon!!!!

Next to Aquaman there is one more superhero that takes up some space in the Man Cave. That would be the crazy and quotable Tick. Not sure why I love this character but I do.

It's easy to say the Cave has Comic Books, TV Shows, Cartoons and even a few Action figure's laying around.

Crazy to think an 18-year-old kid started this hero back in 1986 as a mascot for a comic book store.

If you are interested in reading the adventures of The Tick and his sidekick Arthur Free Comic Book Day is coming May 2nd where you can pick up an issue for yourself. Or just head HERE for a free download preview.

S is for Sven...Goolie that is.

It should not come as a surprise for those of you that lurk around my blog that Sven would show up in this countdown. My fascination with Horror Host's will go all the way back to Yellow Screaming Theatre hosted by Gerry G Bishop. And then followed by current host Rich Koz.

In this day and age, I wish everybody still had a Horror Host to call they're own. Even when Sven was not on TV we still had Up all night and Billy Bob but nothing is better than Chicago's very own Ghoul.

If Horror Host's ever went away it will be a sad, sad day. This year is something special on the show as they plan on not showing any reruns. And they still have a ton of Universal Horror to show. My girls new his name when they were baby's and know it is on TV just by hearing the theme song. Sadly tho today Rich tweeted that his dad has passed so I send out my thoughts and prayers to his family. I invite you all to check out his website for more details. www.svengoolie.com  and always stop by on Saturdays as I gladly post what is on that night.

Beep Beep!

Beep Beep or was it Meep Meep? Well According to animation historian Michael Barrier, Paul Julian's preferred spelling of the sound effect was "hmeep hmeep".

Who did not love the road runner and Wile E. Coyote? I could not wait for this part of the Bug's Bunny show. I would sit and wait and wait for that 7 minutes of violence. Growing up we were not allowed to watch shows like Tom and Jerry, Speed Racer or the 3 Stooges due to the violent content. But somehow we could sneak this show past mom.

This dynamic duo have teamed up for 48 wonderful cartoons.

Here comes the fuzz!

WolfCop
2014 | Color | 79 Min. | 1.85.1 | R | Horror | Dolby Digital | Image Entertainment

Source: Netflix Streaming

Director: Lowell Dean

Writer: Lowell Dean

Stars:
Leo Fafard
Amy Matysio
Sarah Lind

It's not unusual for alcoholic cop Lou to black out and wake up in unfamiliar surroundings, but lately things have taken a turn for the strange...and hairy. WolfCop is the story of one cop's quest to become a better man. One transformation at a time.

Every once and awhile you get those old time feelings of finding something cool based on the movie title and poster. You know like the glory days of VHS. Most of those movies were crap, but the box art was so cool. Well, that is what happened to me with Wolfcop. I first saw the poster in a Box of Dread photo and was bummed I did not get that box. I did some searching on this title and the hype was pretty high. I should have know better.

I did not hate this movie, but I did not get the warm and fuzzy's eathier. I really wanted to tell people to watch this when all I can say skip it. Or if anything fast forward to the first transformation scene it really is the only good part. Wait I take that back the Barn blowing up looked really cool. The story is ok kind of fresh but the kills we have all seen before. So really the only thing left is the Wolf. He looked terrible, not believable at all.

And sadly they are working on a Wolfcop 2. I almost feel like this would make a better 30 minute Television show.

I need a drink after watching this junk..

2 Bloody Brains!

Q*Bert I miss you!

I try to explain to my kids that at one-time cartoons were only on in the early morning during the week and for a few hours after school. And the only day you really had to look forward to was Saturday morning's. Not this 24-hour junk that is on today.

And back in the video boom days we had a solid block devoted to our favorite charters. In fact, nothing was better than the Pac-Man hour. And at the same time I was playing a ton of Q*Bert. I loved watching his show and was always a fan, more so than Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, or even Pole Position. Q was the man... or alien or whatever he was! Someday I would love for these shows to come out on DVD. In the meantime, we have youtube!

P is for the Penguin

The Penguin aka Burgess Meredith

Was there any other Penguin? I know I'm not the only one who read the comics in Meredith's voice? And let's be real the 1960's Batman is the only Batman worth watching.

Did you know, that Meredith developed his grunting "Penguin" laugh out of necessity. Meredith had given up smoking some twenty-odd years earlier, but his character was required to smoke with a cigarette holder. The smoke would get caught in his throat and he would start coughing. Rather than constantly ruin takes in this matter, he developed the laugh to cover it up. "Actually, it was a pretty funny noise for a penguin to make," said Meredith. "I sounded more like a duck." Needless to say, Meredith gave up smoking again immediately after the series ended.

O is for Outrun

I was never much of a gamer, but I could sit and play Outrun for hours on end.

I had a better post done but blogger somehow ate it and posted P a day early. So sorry about the short post I will be back tomorrow.

Why??

Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane. Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right-hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.

M is for Michael!

Nothing and I mean nothing gets me in the Halloween spirit like Michael Myers! As soon as the cool chill hits the air and the leaves start to change I know it's the happiness time on earth! And let's face it for any Horrorhound Michael Myers is Halloween! The song, the look, it is all per magic to me.

Hi-yo, Silver away!

Remember when I posted about Gigglesnort and how it was part of our Sunday morning ritual? When Sunday morning with dad also meant watching Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels beat up the bad guys. Nothing got my day started with the sound of the Willaim Tell Overture. And who could forget...

Narrator: The Lone Ranger!

[gunshots are fired]

The Lone Ranger: Hi-yo, Silver!

Narrator: A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty "Hi-yo Silver" - the Lone Ranger!

The Lone Ranger: Hi-yo, Silver, away!

Narrator: With his faithful Indian companion, Tonto, the daring and resourceful masked rider of the plains led the fight for law and order in the early West. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The Lone Ranger rides again!

My love for Cowboys would stay with forever I still love watching them today.
