All of that changes, however, when they meet a pretty girl. Now, the guys' inner heroes get a chance to emerge in this zombie comedy from New Zealand as they help the lovely young scientist in her race to find a cure.

Move over, Charles Dickens—it's Christopher Moore time.
The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror By Christopher Moore.
Synopsis
Christmas crept into Pine Cove like a creeping Christmas thing: dragging garland, ribbon, and sleigh bells, oozing eggnog, reeking of pine, and threatening festive doom like a cold sore under the mistletoe.
'Twas the night (okay, more like the week) before Christmas, and all through the tiny community of Pine Cove, California, people are busy buying, wrapping, packing, and generally getting into the holiday spirit. It is the hap-hap-happiest time of the year, after all.
But not everybody is feeling the joy. Little Joshua Barker is in desperate need of a holiday miracle. No, he's not on his deathbed; no, his dog hasn't run away from home. But Josh is sure that he saw Santa take a shovel to the head, and now the seven-year-old has only one prayer: Please, Santa, come back from the dead.
But hold on! There's an angel waiting in the wings. (Wings, get it?) It's none other than the Archangel Raziel come to Earth seeking a small child with a wish that needs granting. Unfortunately, our angel's not sporting the brightest halo in the bunch, and before you can say "Kris Kringle," he's botched his sacred mission and sent the residents of Pine Cove headlong into Christmas chaos, culminating in the most hilarious and horrifying holiday party the town has ever seen.
Monster Nation
In the heart of America, in the world’s most secure prison, something horrible is growing in the dark. A wave of cannibalism and fear is sweeping across the heartland, spreading carnage and infection in its wake. Captain Bannerman Clark of the National Guard has been tasked with an impossible mission: discover what is happening — and then stop it before it annihilates Los Angeles. In California, he discovers a woman trapped in a hospital overrun with violent madmen. She may hold the secret to the Epidemic but she has lost everything — even her name.David Wellington’s first novel, Monster Island, explored a world overcome by horror and the few people strong enough to survive. Now he takes us back in time to where it all began — to the day the dead began to rise.
OK so this book starts off so slow I almost did not finish it. Monster Nation takes place before Monster Island but fits in just fine. In fact, MN could stand on its own two legs. I love the detail David Wellington puts out for you, you really get transformed to his realm. The book really gets cooking towards the end and you don't want it to stop.
You finally get to her what is going on but can we stop it!! Despite the slow start, this book is still a great read. After I read this book I was looking into more of Wellington's work. He has become an author I would read. I will be checking out his book about werewolves at some point.

FlashBack Weekend
Its that time again to talk about my favorite Horror Con Flashback Weekend. Sunday was the only day we could attend this year so Eric and I packed up the car and hit the road. Armed with our backpacks full of DVD cases and poster's we headed out early. The big thing for Sunday was to meet Freddy him self Robert England. The draw back to this you had to buy his book "Hollywood Monster" for 30 bucks and wait in line for hours just for him to sign his name and say "Next". As always England is not one to chat with his fans at all. As we waited in line his line was growing and the closer I got to the door the less I cared about him. So I skipped my book ticket and hit the dealer floor.
First things first we always do the lap and see what there is and reevaluate the funds in our pocket. Of course this year was the year of OVER PRICED CELEBRITY. The first table we hit was Tony Todd the Candyman him self, dude get over your self $30 for his crap and $25 for your own but wait! You could not have a photo with him for less then $25 bucks! Get real dude. then the girls of Ginger Snaps the only reason I cared to go, the same thing! When they start to ask for money to have their photo taken with you for get it! Eric and I walked up to some unknown chick that will be in a straight to DVD movie, she was cute so why not say hi. I'm glad that she did not charge me just for looking at her and breathing her air. $10 bucks for a photo and $25 for her ink. I feel bad because I know we both laughed out loud at her. Oops Sorry.
We did run into the coolest celeb. Tim Quills (Army of Darkness, Spiderman 1-3, My Name is Bruce) he talked to his fans and was having a great time. He also singed my DVD case and a poster as well for $10 bucks and...and a free photo to boot.
I picked up a few odds and ends but the vender's this year where pretty week. Before hitting the Charles Band Show I picked up the following movies: CockHamer, The Landlord, and Fast Zombies with Guns. Now on to the best part of the show. Charles Band Full Moon Road Show. This will be the 2nd time I have seen this but this year was really cool. He brought with him TIM THOMERSON (Trancers 1-5, Near Dark, Dollman) to do a Q&A and announce Trancers 6.
The best part FREE BEER, nothing is bad when you have a cold smooth FREE beer in your hand. Part of his show is to get some girl to show her boobs on stage for all of us geeks in the room. As always it did not happen and in a way thank god. When the show was done Charles gave the crowd a great discount. Pick up Trancers Box Set for $25 dollars (more then half off) Tim would sign it for FREE. Well I have always wanted to pick this up and I still had money in my pocket I hit the door running for this great deal. Thomerson was great he had a photo from the movie Zone Troopers (1985). this movie was just on Svengoolie over the summer. I liked it so much I was looking for it on DVD. So we talked about that for awhile. So by the end of the day only 2 cool celebrity's, money left in my pocket and a bad taste in my mouth.
When it comes down to it Flashback was a big bust this year. Week vendors no photo's with out taking my money and nothing really going on at the show on a Sunday.
The plus Tim Quills was really cool, David Crawford from Dawn of the Dead, Tim Thomerson, and Charles Band. Oh and bringing home money for the first time. Oh well maybe its time to take a year off.

Monster Island: A Zombie Novel
This is a zombie novel--a fantastic zombie novel. Most of the world has fallen to the undead, with pockets of survivors clinging to a precarious existence. At the behest of the leader of the Free Women's Republic of Somaliland, a shipload of those makes the ludicrous trip from Africa to New York in a desperate quest for medicine. New York is a wasteland, and everything depends on a small, incredibly dedicated band of teenage girls, armed to the teeth, and native guide Dekalb, formerly a UN arms inspector. Also, in NYC, there is Gary, a zombie who, completely unexpectedly, retains live human mental faculties. The questers get ringside seats for some of the apocalypse's finest moments, and no matter how prepared they thought they were, something worse awaits in the depths of New York. When zombies have already overrun everything, that's saying something. There are many layers to this zombie apocalypse, and this book just gets things rolling. Stay tuned. This book hits the ground running and never lets up, I could not put this down. If you need a zombie fix this is it the best of the best. This book was brought to me from a co-work and I'm glad he did. This is a trilogy and when I was done I needed the book to right there and then. The characters are spot on and you feel yourself getting sucked into their world.
The only drawback for me was it does get weird towards the end with mummy's and evil spirits but don't let that stop you. read it for free online or pick up the book. http://www.brokentype.com/monster/

Camp Fear By Carol Ellis
Ok before you say anything yes this is a tween book but who cares the title screamed buy me so I did. I picked this book up at the book sale for .25 cents.
Rachel is hired as a counselor at Camp Silverlake for the upcoming session. All counselors must meet up a week before for orientation. Things get off to a great start at first, until strange things start happening. One day, Rachel is assigned the job of the upkeep on the lobby/lodge bulletin board for the upcoming campers. She decides to put up pictures of the past years at the camp. Afterward, everyone becomes very quiet and irritated with her for no apparent reason. She soon finds out why....Seven years earlier, a camper died of an accident, and Rachel accidentally put his picture up right in the center of the board. Aside from that, unfortunate mishaps occur, such as a snake in someone's bed, etc. Even scarier, it happened to the person who has a phobia of snakes! Similar events occur, according to peoples' phobias and fears, and Rachel begins to wonder if she could also be in danger!
I found camp fear of being a quick read, a fast action packed story. The storyline, however, was a bit too predictable and the ending wasn't satisfying. In fact, it just ended. But don't let that slow you down. This book will stay on my shelve to read again at another time.

Larnell (John Jordan), Luanne (Robin Sydney) and those crazy dudes from EVIL BONG are back for a bigger hit! Suffering from bizarre side-effects caused by smoking weed from the Evil Bong, they travel to South America in search of a cure. Deep in the jungle, they encounter the deadly KING BONG and are soon locked in a trippy - and hilarious - battle with their old nemesis Eebee and the dangerously sexy Poontang Tribe! If you enjoyed "Evil Bong", then you must have been really high! And you'll especially love "King Bong", loaded with gore, weed, and beautiful women making it the ultimate stoner-horror comedy!
It amazes me to this day that Full Moon makes sequels that are better than the first one. Now I'm one of those that liked the first Evil Bong, so when the second helping came around I was more than happy to slop it on my plate. The movie is a much more polished than its little sister and looks really good. The cast gelled together much better this time around as well. Robin Sydney as cute as she still does not seem to get it. She has such a hard time caring about the movie she is in.
Also missing is Tommy Chong all though this is not a bad thing as we still get a fun trippy 80 minutes that is well crafted and much better acted. In Full Moon style, the gore is low making a ready for TV style movie. A few nice boobs to fill in space. If you like the first one you love the second hit on the bong much better.

Moving Ella over to her own blog
Sorry for the lack of updates lately been really busy with the end of summer coming a school starting soon. I'm going to move all of the girls updates to a different blog. I did not feel it was fair to them they had to be part of dad's geek-dom. So watch for that soon.
Broke down and paid for an app today.
Pocket Guy for the IPhone is a simple app. You really don't do much in this app its more like a screen saver. With a few updates Pocket guy now has a dog and a neighbour named Arnold they share a connecting roof. Arnold has not stopped buy yet I'm still waiting. The web site claims a female named Karen is coming soon as well. You can drag Pocket Guy around his house allowing him to interact with the elements around him. Other wise leave him be. He walk around the house himself and go about his day. Their is no objective just the idea of having a Friend trapped in your phone.
With that said their really is no need for a pocket friend other then to kill time and make your friends laugh at the craziness trapped in my phone. I'm sure my wife will be asking why. This is a 99 cent app and at that price its really up to the buyer. I have spent a buck on worse things.
The sound for the game is done well. From brushing teeth to drinking a can of soda even the the TV sounds good. The graphics are done nice and I'm sure with updates things will get better. You can change allot of the things through out the house. Press a picture on the wall and it will become another photo and so one.
So why did this grab my eye, it reminded me of screen saver that was out way back in the early 90's. I think it was called Humorous Harry. It was a man trapped on an Island and he would do thing's at random. I was hopping for that here and did not get it. Who knows maybe the next holiday something new will pop up. This app is fun for 10 minutes and then its off to the next thing.
Bottom line I look forward to updates maybe add in some holiday theme and the day turn to night. For a dollar I will turn it on from now and then and find my self chuckling at Pocket Guy. In other words it gets a thumbs up.
Flashback Weekend Update.
Yay! Now I'm looking forward to Flashback weekend. Love Ginger Snaps it was one of those movie's we would sell allot of at Suncoast. The movie has a big cult following. The goth kids would come in and this is what we would sell them. But better yet
KATHARINE ISABELLE
(above) was great in Freddy vs Jason. Here is her bio.
(above) was great in Freddy vs Jason. Here is her bio.
Born in Vancouver, BC, Canada Katharine was probably used to the television and film production lifestyle as her father, Graeme Murray has been responsible for special effects on shows such as The X-files.
Like so many others, Katharine broke into acting at an early age winning parts on films such as Cousins, Cold Front and shows like MacGuyver. As time went on Katharine won bigger roles which would eventually build up to a lead role in Ginger Snaps.
Whilst living in Vancouver, Katharine has built an ever-growing resume, not only on Canadian film and television but also with some of Hollywood's big names. In 2002, Katharine appeared in Insomnia, and in 2003, she had one of the most memorable roles in Freddy vs. Jason.
EMILY PERKINS
She was so insane in the movie Ginger snaps I can't believe she has not done more on the wacko side of horror movies. She will be great to meet as well . Here is her bio.
A native resident of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Emily Perkins began her professional acting career at the age of 10 and made her feature film debut in 1989's Small Sacrifices. The following year, she was recognized with a YTV National Youth Achievement award in acting and landed key roles on the television series Mom P.I. and the films Anything to Survive and It, an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Stephen King.
As an adult, her film appearances include Insomnia and Prozac Nation, while her television credits include guest spots on Fox's Emmy-award winning series The X-Files, the renowned educational children's program Mentors, and Showtime's highly acclaimed comedy/drama Dead Like Me. Her lead performance in the Ginger Snaps film trilogy has received wide critical praise, and her work in the first installment of the series garnered her a Best Actress award at Spain's international film festival for fantastic cinema.
Also looking forward to meeting the Candyman himself.
Ok, 3 posts one day can you tell the kids are playing nice. For more info check out http://www.flashbackweekend.com/
You Scream I Scream we all Scream 4....
Well, not Ice scream but reports are flying the Scream 4 has an outline. Writer Kevin Williamson (Dawson's Creek and the Scream Trilogy) has been working on more films that will bring back many of the characters from the original movies. It is expected to start production this fall. Also, it sounds like they are in talks with a few of the stars from the series to make "Cameo's". Williamson has approached Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette to return. No word on whether Neve Campbell's character, among others, will make the cut. "We are going to be doing 'Scream 4,',hopefully," Arquette said. "Kevin Williamson is writing the script at this mom hopefully,Wes Craven is going to direct." Courteney has also signed on. Arquette hopes Craven and Neve Campbell follow, but that's still all up in the air. And naturally, no plot details are being revealed as to where Williamson is taking the story next. I have heard allot of rumbling about a new SCREAM movie but a new SCREAM trilogy? Seems this is going to be a retelling (why?) or a prequel. Any way stay tuned If I hear more I will post it.

DVD News
September 15 we will finally get to hold on to Phantasm 2! This will be the first time ever available in the states on DVD! This has been a highly anticipated release. And just as exciting October 6Th will see the release of Stepfather. This late 80's romp has a cult following. The VHS can sell for $25 or more on eBay. This is about a man who marries single mothers and if they do not become the perfect family he offs them for the next mother. This movie I hear is getting a remake. some movies are meant to stay in the 80's and this is one of them. Also in October is Wrong Turn 3. And that's your Horror Movie update for this week.
Cheesy covered groovy fun
Nothing is better than opening the mail box to have 3 trades show up at your door. Its like Christmas or your birthday it so much fun. If you are not trading on line by now what is wrong with you. We have been doing it for over 2 years now. But today was one of the odd mixes to show up. First "My Name Is Bruce" people must really hate this movie. By the time, I could add it my wish list their where 12 in front of me. That was 3 months ago! I love this movie but not enough to pay more than 10 bucks for it so when I added it I felt I would find it for 10 dollars long before I would score it for a DVD I did not like. Here is the story...
Cult film and TV star Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice) lampoons his own B-movie legacy with My Name is Bruce, an agreeably goofy horror-comedy which pits him--well, a version of him, anyway--against a malevolent Asian spirit in order to save a die-hard fan. Campbell also directed Bruce, and brings a loose, kitchen-sink vibe to the proceedings, which has teenager and die-hard Bruce Campbell fan Jeff (Taylor Sharp) kidnap his idol in order to save his small town from an ancient Chinese demon. Unfortunately, the movie Bruce Campbell is a broken-down, booze-swilling reprobate who lacks even an ounce of the insouciant charm of his screen persona in Evil Dead 2 or the Hercules series, and proves woefully inadequate in dispelling the monster. But as films ranging from Cat Ballou and My Favorite Year to Galaxy Quest and Three Amigos! have proven, the unwavering belief of a fan can bring out the hero in even the worst heel, and Bruce rises to the occasion in the picture's final third. Obviously, Bruce is slated towards fans of Campbell's eccentric screen c.v., and aficionados will undoubtedly appreciate the endless slew of nods to his previous films, as well as cameos by many of his co-stars, including Ted Raimi in multiple roles (one of which is a Chinese gentleman that gives Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's a run for his money in the stereotype department). Campbell himself remains the movie's chief selling point; his knack for physical humor (read: self-abuse) and pulpy line readings have lost none of their charm, which does much to override some of the flick's flotilla of stale gags.
I also can't wait to watch this again with the Audio Commentary with Bruce Campbell. He was very entertaining on the Evil Dead DVDs this should be good. It's to bad the Ted Rami was not on the audio track as well. So if you are a Bruce fan like me this is a must watch, If you follow his career at all you will get allot of the inside jokes, this is an odd film with no budget but again well worth it. Next up...
I received the CD Soundtrack for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. This powerhouse CD is long out of print. This fell through the cracks for me after watching the movie I knew this was CD worthwhile. Well as I sit here writing this I just might be wrong. I forgot about those band's that yell... Allot. Unlike Freddy vs Jason, this CD only has a few good songs. Anyway it's going for $24.56 on eBay so if it doses not get better I can always sell. For now, I will sit just fine in the man cave with the rest of my Horror collection.
And now the odd CD that came.

My bed bugs was a TV show Ella found at one time and really got into it. So when somebody posted the CD I figured what his heck why not. This CD is really a lot of fun with great big hits like We're rock stars, Goody's Time Machine, and I'm a little Teapot. You would file this with the Veggie Tales and almost as fun. Hey, girls like and that's OK by me. Besides Hanna Montana is running thin!
Look its the back side of water.

The Bird's
(The following story is based on true events that took place on a quiet street)
It happened one quiet Summer afternoon. The sun was about to peek on this warm Sunday, as we all sat in the house dancing around and waiting for Grandma to come home from church, so dad could cut the grass. As grandma pulled up the kids were full of life and ready to go visit for awhile. I packed them up and was ready to head out. Little did we know this quiet little street was about to be full of loud nerve-shattering noise.
We all stepped out onto the porch and I was shutting the door when Ella was walking past our little tree and jumped and let out small startled yelp. As a small bird, just as scared as she was, went zooming out the tree and passed her. Well, that did not seem to sit well with a few mommy and daddy birds nearby. As I stepped down myself, to tell Ella it was OK, down swooped the upset birds yelling right at us. At first, I did not think much of this and started walking to the house across the street. Out of the corner of my eye I see a swooping bird coming right for my head, I yell "YAAA" at it and it did not help. The next bird stopped short of my head, yelling at me in its native tongue, I yelled at Ella who is now screaming at the top of her lungs get in the house! As I tuck Lainey under my arms like Walter Payton I dart for the door yelling at the birds still swooping over my head. When I reached the porch I hear Ella petrified still screaming in the same place. Overcome by fear she could not move. I looked up and saw the big bad bird & his black beady eyes focused on me. What to do? I can not put down Lainey, who is now screaming at the top of her lungs and poor Ella was now the clear target for the bird. Thankfully I was lazy the night before and did not put the mop away. I grabbed it with one hand and Lainey in the other I jumped off the porch yelling back at the bird. He yelled back at me in his native tongue I'm sure he was yelling "Bring It!". I swung the mop at the birds head and flung myself around just in time to swing again at his partner behind me.
It was about this time when I heard Norm screaming to Mary "you need to get over there and help". With the birds at bay, I tell Ella to get in the house and we make it there safe. I put down the kids and said stay here. I could see the evil still in the trees waiting for us and poor grandma on her way with the broom in hand. I told the girls I need to help grandma get here safe so out the door I ran with my mop and the birds high-tailed it out of there.
Grandma and I tucked the kids under our arms with mops and brooms we headed out the door once again. As we made it safe across the street it was time to calm down the kids. After a few minutes, it was out to cut the grass. Any bird that wants a piece of me will eat the blade of my mower.
As the sun set Roosevelt Rd is quiet once again and the bush next to the porch is now much shorter and thinner.

More Breaking DVD News
Sorry don't know how I missed this. But on the same day as Hardbodies will also be "Spring Break"! It will be a Happy Birthday in this house. Here is the scoop.
Stu & O.T. are two studs from the big city who arrive in Fort Lauderdale for spring break. They discover that the room they had reserved in an over-crowded motel is already being occupied by Nelson & Adam, a pair of college-nerds. With no other accommodations available, Nelson & Adam reluctantly agree to share the room with Stu & O.T., who promise to show them a good time. The wet-T-shirt contests and beer-guzzling-fun are threatened when Nelson's controlling step-dad shows up, along with a building inspector who wants to shut down the motel.Starring David Knell, Perry Lang, Paul Land, Steve Bassett and Jessica James.
Can wait for this its been a long time, I was even going to look for this on VHS just to watch it again. I'm sure I have not seen this since 1984.
Breaking DVD News!!
Hardbodies Collection
YES!! Finally one of the great movies from my youth is hitting DVD. "Three middle-aged daddies visit California to have a marvelous time at the beach. When they learn that a nice apartment and an expensive cabriolet isn't enough for them to score with the chicks, they employ a student to help them. At first he's as disgusted of them and his job as his girlfriend, but soon they find out how to use the situation to everyone's benefit."
This is also one of Kane Hoder's first movies (Mr. Jason Voorhee's himself). I could never understand why this has not made it sooner, but hey its coming that leaves 3 must own DVDs not on DVD. Those would be "Spring Break (1983)" "American Anthem (1986)" and "Electric Dreams (1984)".

Trust...
OK so one of the biggest things I have had trouble getting over is being over protective of Ella. I feel that I have to stand by her all day to make sure she is fine, and I hate that. Its so hard to trust somebody that's not with her all the time. But I'm working on it. Letting her stay with my parents house, letting her run around out side with out me worrying about her. Then this weekend I let her go with Heather all day. She took Ella after we went to the Home Depot. They headed to Burger King to eat and run around and then to play and I felt OK with that, this is a big step. Mind you I trust Heather she is around kids all day and I know she would since something wrong with Ella and call me right away. But hey I did it I let her walk away, man whats going to happen when she brings home that first date!
This was an action packed weekend. Fireworks on Friday in Peru on Saturday in Spring Valley and Utica (picture) on Sunday. That means bed at 11:00 every night! Lainey did not make it out on Sunday the poor thing melted down by 8:00 and went to bed. Earlier that day Erinn gashed her finger chopping Broccoli and had to go to the Emergency Room for glue and a shot. OOOOOH and the nurse really mad me mad get this she tells Erinn it must hurt do to all the nerve endings in your fingers then oh yeah then so goes on to say how there would be no way she could be a diabetic she can't she how they can poke them selves all the time..boy did I let her have it. I snapped at her " yeah I know I have to Poke my poor 4year old every day" I'm sure my face was not nice. She did not know what to say! I say "SHUT UP!" and do your job.
This is a messed up week as well Rusty's dad is not doing good, Pete's Mom is not doing good and Erinn's grandma is not doing well. I hope nobody needs much from us at the pro desk.
On the 4Th Lainey Turned 16 months. Boy time is flying by.
I also can't wait for this week to be over, Erinn is putting together a book sale for St. Jude. Growing tired of books every where. The good news this week Big Brother starts its like the only show I watch on TV next Baseball and Svengoolie.
Do Not Go Down That Hole, Are You Nuts?
The Doom Stone By Paul Zindel
Synopsis
A killer beast—half-man, half-apelike—terrorizes the English plain on which Stonehenge lies. Fifteen-year-old Jackson Cauley, with the help of his anthropologist aunt and a local girl, has tracked down the predator’s lair. But the source of the beast’s power lies in the ancient Doom Stone of Stonehenge, and unless its secret is unlocked, the deadly slaughter will continue.

This book wastes no time at all with its first kill with in the first 3 pages. Join Jackson on a twist and turn filled hold your breath tale of creatures under ground.
I Love Zindel's work "My durling my Hamberger" and "Pardon Me, Your Stepping on My Eye Ball" and this book was a 180 degree turn from everything I have read. While reading this book I did find myself holding my breath. This book is written for tweens so no real blood. Do not let that throw you off its a good summer time read and will not take more then a day or two.
I was lucky to find this book at a book sale for .50 cents. The real good news I was able to trade this book on paperback swap.

Diabetes Update
Here is some shocking news "Kids with Type 1 diabetes are more likely to be overweight than those without the disease, increasing their risk of serious health and complications, researchers say. "
As Ella would say "Ya Think" food is what she needs to survive. She eats more with her med's then I eat in a day. This has been the biggest concern of Erinn and I for a few months now. She eats healthy and you would think that would help but it does not. We stay active it's not like she sits around and watches TV. This is so frustrating! And right now we trying to get her levels back in order after a growth spurt, I make me want to bang my head off the wall! Our goal is 80 - 180 and we can hardly get her to 200.
For those who have asked she is not on Lantus. I would probably be in the nut house if she was. So as we go into a big food all around holiday wish us luck!
Happy 4th of July!
More on 34 Part 2 Saturday
Ok, More on 34... well more junk on the side of the road. Do these people know how to have a garage sale?? People looked like the opened the front door and let their house spew out unwanted crap! If I thought it was ok to take pictures of this junk I would have. So we start the morning in Princeton and had some fun. The fairgrounds had some great dealers and a lot of food. In all, we spent $4 dollars at the fairgrounds. So it was still early we trucked over to Wyanet. It was hit and miss some nice so dirt and some trash. All said and done we traveled 30 to 40 miles and found nothing really spent less than 6 dollars and had some fun. Would I do it again...well no I don't think there would be a reason. If was a fun time with Ella but we could stay home and do the same thing.
More on 34 part one Friday
OK, so as the story goes Ella and I like to get out and hit a garage sale or two. Ella is always on the hunt for that next big treasure to find. Ever since she found Polly Pockets for .25 cents she is a digger. She loves it, and I think it is fun to dig around with her. Don't be fooled I don't mind finding that treasure as well. The Book, CD, or DVD I can post online for a DVD I really want. Or that piece of junk I just need to own.
Well with that said a lady a work was telling me about this "More On 34" sale. Well, this sounded cool to me and why not get out and stop at a few house at a time and what not. More like not! I got off work early today so I asked Ella if she would like to go see what was in Mendota and then head home. Mendota was so bad and there was nothing out we were pretty disappointed. Ella was really bummed so I said let us trek on! And to La Mollie we went. Things look up we stopped 6 times in the little town and a storm was fast approaching. Ella's treasures today are a "That's so Raven" DVD and Art set toy boat for the pool and some cooking toys all for $4.00 so she was happy. Until she has to pull 4 things to get rid of.
As the thunder rolled in we rolled out next stop Dover before we eat. We saw a few sales along the way but did not stop, the rain was starting to fall and just did not look worthwhile. Dover looks like a dud so we head to the spaghetti express to bring home dinner. And then came the rain as we got out of the car! Not a dry spot on the two of us.
All and all today was nice to get out with Ella. And we will head to Princeton tomorrow like we had planned all along, I will try and remember the camera as well.
Dance of the Dead
So after I hooked up the Xbox 360 Ella and I was looking for a game demo she could play. After we settled on "Up" I was looking around and found a video to "Rise of the Dead 2" and this is what happened....That's my girls! Also, Ella really wanted to play a game, well the games you sold me were really not kid games but we settled on "Transformers The Game" that lead to some great laughs. I'm going to have to find some code for unlimited health for her.
Thanks again Steve hope you enjoy the video.
The Hangover With Steve
Ok so its the #1 movie in America again and Hangover 2 has been singed up I can safely say Go see this movie! Why well its funny and Zach Galifianakis is spot on funny. This dude killed me in "Out Cold" and made this movie. The movie had a ton of holes and really could have been edited down a little. You just start to laugh your ass off and then bam here comes a slow spot for 10 minutes. Never the less this will sit in my dvd collection when it comes out.
So good job Steve it was fun. Now the Brent haveing a heart attack from the onions on his burger at hooters was funny as well.
But you need to watch Friday the 13th hitting video Tuesday. A great Jason awsome kills and a pretty good plot.
Ok untill later...No, it's a satchel... Indiana Jones has one
Munster, Go Home
MUNSTER GO HOME
Fred Gwynne, Yvonne De Carlo
Universal; Directed by Earl Bellamy
Not Rated; 90 minutes; 1966
This full-length motion picture features the cast of the popular TV series, THE MUNSTERS. Herman takes his family to England to claim his inheritance - a man full of ghosts, murderous relatives, and assorted surprises. Fortunately, there's is nothing an American Munster likes better than a good scare, and Herman eventually exposes his crooked cousins.
OK, So I picked this up at book sale just for the per collectible aspect and it was only 2 bucks. I began to watch this last night. And was bummed that it was a full screen, not a widescreen transfer. This is the full movie for crying out load. And to top it off this is bare bones! Not one extra at all. I can live with the mono track for that is most likely the way it played in theaters. The first odd thing here is seeing them in color. Growing up it was always black and white so this came as very strange. All thou Marilyn (Debbie Watson) looks great in color some of the shots looked muddy. Sometimes the make-up fell really short. The guest star list is fun John Carradine ("the Astro Zombies"Silent Night, Bloody Night" and "Evil Spawn") And Ricard Dawson (Family Feud). I did chuckle when Herman yelled out "Car 54, where are you". As for the rest of the humor, it's the 60's so my four-year-old will never get it. Let's just say its fun to watch... once a very blue moon. The movie was shot in 25 days. The film was not a great success at the box office, prompting Paramount, which had been contemplating a theatrical version of "Get Smart" to cancel that and instead spread it out over 3 episodes of the TV series called "A Man Called Smart", Parts 1, 2, and 3. In mid-summer 1966, this film was frequently double-billed with the similarly-themed "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" (1966). So, In the end, it's a fun little movie that can stand on its own if you grew up with the Munsters. Was it worth the $2.oo price tag yes! Will this stay in my collection or go to DVD swap, maybe some day but for knowing it will sit with the rest
