The cute little talking pups have invaded a new holiday this year. After helping Santa, it was only time that they would get the chance to save Halloween.

In a race against a no-good hound, the Buddies and their new friends, Pip, Zelda, Rodney, and Skip, must stop Warwick the Warlock and save the world from his dastardly deeds.

Spooky Buddies is a Spooktacular adventure that treats you to a celebration of friendship and teamwork your whole family will enjoy.

As an adult, I really like the way Disney took a few Halloween folk stories and urban legend's for the base of this movie. The whole idea of the warlock being trapped in the mirror for 100 years and need his name repeated three times to release him was a nice touch. This really keeps those type of story's alive in children today.

Zelda
Sure for me it was really easy  to see where this was going and how it was going to end. My 3 year, on the other hand, at still totally engrossed with the story. The charters in the movie did a great job of acting and keeping you as an adult into the movie. Sierra McComick is a household name here. We all love the new A.N.T. show on Disney. She is a real adorable actress. And one of the only reasons my 7-year-old sat through this.

Boo!
I did though have an issue with Ghost Boy. I can't put a finger on it other than it felt too much like Casper the friendly ghost. Warwick the Warlock played by Harland Williams (Rocket Man, Sorority Boys) was not over the top creepy and not once scared or made my kids feel uneasy. But he plays the part every convincing. In fact, it took me a while to realize who he was.

The pup's and their new friends work well together. The whole talking dog CGI is getting to the point that you can't tell that its fake. They almost convince you that they are real.

Out of the Buddie movies, this is one of the better ones. So if you have little ones around the house I would say pick this up it will be fun to revisit every year.  If you have older kids rent it first. If you have no kid's and love Halloween as much as I do I say rent it or make sure to catch it on the Disney Channel I'm sure it will be on sometime this year. For more fun check out Disney Spooky Buddies Web Site. You will find games, desktop wallpaper, and more.
