April Movie Recap

Wow-what a month 26 flicks in 30 days and it felt good. Sadly tho it is back to work next week and things will slow down a bit. The biggest highlights here would be The Beastie Boys doc, Lion King, Rogue One, and the only none blockbuster Weedjeis: Halloweed Night. I defiantly took some time to dive into Disney+ even if I planned on diving deeper into the classics I still had a ton of fun watching the newer movies. Lady and the Tramp were so sweet and deserve way more love than it is getting! Cursed Films on shudder is a sad look into the films Poltergeist Twilight Zone and The Crow covering just how they are cursed. This series defiantly moved me and almost brought me to tears at times. If you have Shudder this is well worth your time. Ok so here is the list and remember you can always follow me on Letterboxd where I'm keeping a journal of the films I watched.

Tiger King was all the rage in April and what defiantly kicked off a solid month of Animal themed movies. Also, the short Simpson's episode Playdate with Destiny was wonderful and well worth the watch.

I also knocked Tammy and the T-Rex off the backlog of my must-see list. A baby faced Paul Walker was fun to watch as well as Dennies Richards its a fun trip back to the early 90s horror-comedy.

Animals did not remain the only theme for the month as Police flick's filled my list rather quickly. If you did not catch my Police Academy write up defiantly check it out here.

I was defiantly on a rough patch towards the end of the month! Three bad movies in a row!

Watched Top Gun with the kids sadly they did not seem too impressed with it. What is wrong with kids these days gee wiz. I also started a few TV shows and finished a few as well thanks to Disney+ I started season one of Star Wars The Clone Wars.

I remember when this first started I had a super hard time getting into it. But with all the hype around the finial season and well being in lockdown mode I started once again. I managed to get through the first season, although 27 thirty-minute episodes seem long for a season most of the stories held my attention enough to keep going. Know to find time to keep up with it as I do look forward to season two.

Now the one shows that I loved watching with my daughter who is the same age as the lead charter would be Diary of a Future President. It's the story of A young Cuban-American girl who embarks on a journey to become the future president of the United States. The show tackles some great topics amid at that age group.

Well, there you go a busy month here in the Cave! I have to admit I enjoyed being off a month with my family and I'm rather sad to return to the crazy COVID world we live in. My original plan for the new year was to watch 52 movies and being I'm at 48 already I'm going to hit that goal. So maybe I will shot for that original goal of 75 that I have to hit in the past few years.
