Sam Brenner, Will Cooper, Ludlow Lamonsoff, and Eddie "The Fire Blaster" Plant all played classic arcade video games as teenagers. But now they have to use their skills to try to save the world from aliens. The aliens watched video feeds that they thought was a declaration of war. So they send down the classic arcade games to destroy the earth. They also get help from a military specialist. They have three lives and if all three get used then the earth will be destroyed, and every time they lose alive the aliens take someone's life. Who will win, us or the aliens? It's an all-out battle to save our planet and everyone on it.

When this came out last summer I was half-hearted about watching it. The trailers looked week and well it's a Sandler movie and he has not been very good lately. I think his same old same old story line has grown old for his audience but I could be wrong!

I actually flipped this on one night before bed thinking oh I will give it a few minutes of my time. Next thing you know the credits are rolling and my youngest and I stayed up way too late but ended up enjoying this movie. Sure it starts out the same as most of the movies this type but of course, the main draw was the old video games that I grew up on. Once we get past the boring I'm going to pick up the hot girl baloney and get to the "Pixels" the movie gets fun.

I really did get into how the games came to life as aliens and all that Pac-Man, Centipede, Q-Bert and Donkey Kong all get pretty big roles and they were the star's of the movie. The cast was ok all of Sadlers buddies make their cameo's and Kevin James was by far the best charters for this movie. What I would have liked would have been the use of Pac-Man Fever the song. Am I sure it could have been bought cheap for the movie right?

There really is nothing over the top special for this movie but somehow it works and pulls in a few laughs now and then. Even if you did not grow up with these charters it did not seem to slow done my seven-year-old who thought it was a fun movie as well. And hey Burger Time (My fav growing up) makes an appearance in the back round.

I have to say, check this one out if you have not already!
