Get ready for Snow Shark |
Actor, Writer, and Director Sam Qualiana bring's his 2004 short film full circle into a full-length blood soaked shark tale to life. Shot on a shoestring budget of $7,000 and a lot of help from his friends they set out into the cold to shoot their story. Shot in 21 days mainly on weekends with their digital camera in hand with what seems to be a group of buddies.
It's not horror without boobs and beer! |
Possibly the only cute girl in the movie. |
Nothing crazy when it comes down to the costumes in the movie, in fact, most of the actors brought their own wardrobe. When it comes to sound effects and the soundtrack the movie can lack at times. The soundtrack was overpowering once in a while and it gets in the way for the story. The only track I did like was the one from the end credits.
Say Ahh! |
As for the Shark, I will give Qualiana some credit here. You never really see the shark and when you do he blends in CGI with puppets along with fast pace cuts during editing. It all blends well together and sure at times leaves you giggling at its silliness. Fake blood flow's freely at times and it never gets old it is very ambitious of the young director.
Damn it its cold out here! |
Sure it's silly that the movie is about a Shark that gets around in the snow but hell why not? The movie is not going to be for everybody the poor acting holds this movie back but should not slow you down from watching. Once you relax into the story it moves along nice and keeps you entertained. I'm not going to lie I did not hate this at all. It is not for everyone, likes those big budget movies. But for the horror kid in you this has it all tons of blood, plenty of kills, a monster concept that is not so bad. and boob's even if half the budget was spent on the local strippers to do the job. (I'm guessing too that fact, they were cute but not cute)
This movie still retails for 15 bucks at the big box stores I would pay that kind of money for it, you can catch it on Popcorn Flix for free. If you are looking for something different to watch this Creepmas give this silly little flick a shot!

Love your new Creepmas background. I am not sure that snow shark is for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks I was affraid it was to much.
DeleteOh no! They have SNOW sharks now???
ReplyDeleteOh yeah and sand sharks and jeresy shore sharks the list goes on and on lol!!
DeleteLOL! Man, what will they think of next? I remember seeing this somewhere in stores, just not worth the money to me. I did buy a $5 Creature Feature collection with 12 movies, including the original Snow Beast. Man, what a snooze fest! Nothing but skiing and snowmobiling and the occasional Snow Beast attack. This at least sounds a bit more fun.
ReplyDeleteKudos to you on sitting through Snow Beast I do not think I finished that one.
