Madea, Bam, and Hattie venture to a haunted campground and the group must run for their lives when monsters, goblins, and the boogeyman are unleashed.

Just one year earlier Boo! A Madea Halloween blew me away. It was a laugh a minute good time so does a sequel hold up? The simple answer...NO!

You’re going to Madea’s house to laugh, forget your troubles and perhaps enjoy some good old family value's in its message. And the lesson is still there, in fact, its the base of the story when his freshly turned 18-year-old daughter all of a sudden wants to grow up she turns to the fun parent in the divorce. We all know how that works we see it in our day to day life. But after that, the story really stretches to hold together. At times they would start a joke that would then lingers for what feels like an eternity. And the jokes well they were just not funny this time around.

Despite the lack of humor and weak storyline Boo does look good and comes complete with a good-looking returning cast. And our ears are treated to a much better soundtrack this time around but none of that can glue this one back together. The only saving grace is its young cast as the older cast falls short.

I'm saddened that Boo 2 just did not deliver. I did chuckle at times but for the most part, it was a struggle to get through this flick. And man I gave the first one 4 Bloody Brains out 5. I'm sad to say this one should be skipped.

2 Bloody Brains out of 5

  1. I was surprised with the first film though I didn't find it as funny as most did I think. Still, it was a fun watch. I will probably watch this one someday as I'm a sucker for sequels.

  2. Yeah, I know... I love the first BOO! and own it. That one hasn't gotten old for me. But this second one... I think Tyler Perry just wanted to have fun like he did when he was making the first movie. But there wasn't much new with the plot. Why would Tiffany be a snot again after learning her lesson in the first movie? BOO2! had its moments, just not as many as before.

    2. Yeah, I guess they can't all be winners! You basically know what you're going to get with Tyler Perry movies/plays, but there are some I like far more than others! Did you see "Madea's Witness Protection"? That one has Eugene Levy in it and is pretty funny.

And yeah, Tiffany's mom is a piece of work. I remember her new husband in that movie acting as if the Brian character wasn't even there, I guess because he felt awkward. That I found funny. And there was one funny scene around the outhouse. Those are the highlights for me. :)

    3. Yeah it has its moments its the lingering jokes inbetween. Oddly enough this is the only Perry movies I have watched I think the Christmas one looks good and hope to check that one out some day soon. I promise I will check out another movie soon. Getting snow tonight how about you?

    4. The Christmas one is maybe the only one I haven't seen. Well, maybe one of two. I don't even know how many Madea movies/plays are out there, but I've seen a lot. I enjoyed "Madea's Class Reunion" too. That one is a play that I was surprised to get a DVD of from the library.

Ugh. Yeah, we're getting snow too. I'm not sure how much we're projected to get, but I don't want any!
