Suspiria Trailer

Amazon Studios dropped the first trailer for Luca Guadagnino’s remake of the cult classic thriller “Suspiria,” where Dakota Johnson portrays a dance student who unwittingly finds herself in the midst of a “suspicious” coven of witches at an academy abroad. Dario Argento directed the original 1977 supernatural horror film, which starred Jessica Harper.

Guadagnino, known for his intimate character features like “Call Me By Your Name,” is reuniting with Johnson and Tilda Swinton, who plays the elite school’s artistic director Madame Blanc, after working together on “A Bigger Splash.” He also worked with Swinton on “I Am Love.”

The cast also includes Chloe Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, Lutz Ebersdorf, and Jessica Harper. Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke is composing the film’s score.

“Suspiria” will make its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Amazon Studios is opening the movie in New York and L.A. on Oct. 26, a week before it hits theaters nationwide on Nov. 2.

History's biggest disaster comes to an end?

Sharknado Its About Time
2018 | Color | 1 Hr 30 Min | Action | TV-14 | Asylum

Director: Anthony C. Ferrante

Writers:
Thunder Levin
Scotty Mullen

Stars:
Tara Reid
Cassandra Scerbo
Jonathan Bennett
Ian Ziering

Fin has to go back in time to rejoin his shark-battling friends to stop the first Sharknado and save humanity.

Ugh where do I start, Ian Ziering is still hot and Cassandra Scerbo is hot and its another Sharknado movie I think. Yep, that is it. You guys know I love bad movies piled on the gooey cheese and I.m a happy man. But the final bow out of the cult phenomenon Sharknado is such a mess that I can not put into words. Bad acting dull special effects and one of the worst screen play's I have ever witnessed makes this the worst movie I have ever taken part in.

I'm not going to harp on it so let's say this should never have happened and I just don't understand why it did. The jokes even hurt this time around...grrr I don't like to be negative towards a movie so I will stop. The movie seems to be getting love from social media and fans of the series sadly this fan say's do not pass go!
Horrible...

Just going to add it to my blog to record what I watched this year.

Enuff is never Enough!

Sometimes you hear a band that you just wonder how is it they are still around. But to some that band is your all-time favorite and you just can't wait for new music well for me that band is Enuff Znuff! The Chicago boys seem to keep kicking and screaming through life and I love it! After Donnie (lead singer) left the band you could not help but think this is it its over. Not for Chip Z'nuff, he picked up the mic this time around and Enuff Z'nuff carries on with their 21st album. With their new sound, they still manage to keep pop metal alive!

Even though songwriter and lead Donnie Vie have left  Chip sounds better than even I thought he would. And the reviews so far have been very positive towards the album. Diamond Boy hit shelves last week and proves you can't take the 80's out of this old man rock on Chip rock on!

So do a fanboy a favor take a listen and let me know what you think in the comments below. And make sure you check out Get High On A New Thing the time I hung out with the band by clicking here

The Nun to hot for YouTube

The Nun add that was to hot for YouTube!

Because of the fear the six-second clip has incited in unsuspecting viewers, YouTube has notably taken the video down from the site. The preview, which was streaming before other videos would load on YouTube, displays a typical volume sign increasing in volume and then lowering all the way down when suddenly, the titular nun in full-horror mode appears and makes a blood-curdling scream.

One Twitter user issued a warning about the choice jump-scare in the video and cautioned viewers to turn down the volume “if you have anxiety or just straight up hate jumpscares.” The tweet received over 145,000 likes and 132,000 retweets.

According to its “violent and shocking content in ads” policy, YouTube strives “to avoid offending or shocking users with websites, or apps that are inappropriate for our ad network.” Examples of content considered violent or shocking include “gruesome imagery” and “promotions that are likely to shock or scare.”

Shocking factors in video ads concern items like “whether the video shows scenes containing violent and/or graphic imagery that can be shocking or disturbing to viewers” or “whether the violence contained in the video is realistic when posted in a dramatic context.”

Oh boy well here is the official add and its better anyway!

His hideous howl a dirge of death!

Ghostwatch
1992 | Color | 1 Hr 31 Min | Horror | PG-13 | BBC

Director: Lesley Manning

Writer: Stephen Volk

Stars:
Michael Parkinson
Sarah Greene
Mike Smith

Synopsis:
The BBC gives over a whole evening to an 'investigation into the supernatural'. Four respected presenters and a camera crew attempt to discover the truth behind 'The most haunted house in Britain', expecting a light-hearted scare or two and probably the uncovering of a hoax. They think they are in control of the situation. They think they are safe. The viewers settle down and decide to watch 'for a laugh'. Ninety minutes later the BBC and the country was changed, and the consequences are still felt today.

On Halloween 1992 the BBC aired their Mocumentry Ghostwatch that lead viewers into hysteria! It was so scary it caused PTSD, Labor, and sadly suicide of a ten-year-old boy. With 11 million people watching this one-off which appeared to be broadcast live from a house in Northolt, troubled by a malevolent presence that manifested itself by banging on the water pipes. With its Crimewatch-style setup, complete with a Crimestoppers style phone number flashing at the bottom of the screen "Pipes" become folklore that night that is still talked about today.

Even the News set was fascinating.

And with so many children watching and with plenty of clues along the way that the programme was fake people still believed what they were watching was real. As for those children maybe they shouldn’t have been up – it was broadcast after the 9pm but that didn’t mean anything if your parents let you watch it and it was Halloween for crying out loud I know I would have been up!

Yeah Pipes is here!

The first 45 minutes of the programme were rather sedated. Then things started to go wrong. Even tho I knew it was fake those little girls really suck you into there world! I could escape by reminding myself its only a movie so I can understand watching this live holy crap! Ghostwatch freaks you out all the way to the end and lingers in your mind for a while after.

The girls where just the right amout of creepy.

Pipes was described as a bald man in a long black dress buttoned up to the neck. Almost with affection, the little girl pulled the reporter to the cupboard under the stairs to show her where he “lived”. Gradually, the fake phone-ins started to flesh out the story of the house: one caller revealed that a child molester had lodged there in the 1960s; he had hanged himself under the stairs and his face had been eaten by cats. As the “public” began to contribute, the presenters began to flounder. All the time, there were real members of the public trying to get through! All I can say is brilliant.

Do you see him?

If you have a chance to watch Ghostwatch this Halloween season turn out the lights and let your self-escape into the movie and I promise it will still leave you gasping for air! After you have watched it make sure to google the after effect. Might not be War of the Worlds but it helped lunch Point of View horror like The Blair Witch Project.

Arena Football '06 Style!

Summary: Arena Football replicates the unique intensity and passion of the indoor gridiron, giving gamers a completely different football gaming experience. Staying authentic to AFL rules, Arena Football will feature 8-on-8 play, including six players who play both sides of the ball, and the ability to send players into and over the walls with each exciting play. Fast-paced and high-scoring offenses allow players to launch an all-out aerial assault using playbooks created by actual AFL coaches. The arena comes alive with fans, fireworks, and a rock-concert atmosphere. For the first time ever in sports gaming, an in-game telemetry system will provide real-time information about opponents such as passing tendencies, scoring history, and player health. Players can build an AFL powerhouse in Season mode and win their way to ArenaBowl or challenge the best players in the nation with head-to-head online play.

While most kids are playing Fortnite this old man is still collecting "retro games" and boy did I just play one that deserves an upgrade. EA Sports Arena Football is one of those games that I wanted to play when it first hit the shelves and yet I somehow missed it. I loved watching Arena football with its wild play's small field and high score it made late winter a little more tolerable. Kurt Warner had a version on the PS1 that was just ok, but in 2006 EA came a bit closer giving you the feel of indoor football.

As far as the graphics go this one looks good, you have the choice of playing up close Arena style or Classic pulled back so you can see the field style. Both are very well done. You get some fluid movement that is on pare to Madden and NCAA of its time. Arena football should not be confused with that stuff the Dallas Cowboys would be playing in the Super Bowl. The field is only 50 yards long and is surrounded by walls, like a hockey rink with turf. The arena is eight-on-eight, Ironman football in which six of eight players go both ways. It's high scoring; the average game tops 100 total points. It's hard-hitting, it's fast and it's fun.

One thing that I was not expecting while celebrating, the receiver started bowing to the crowd and yelling, "I'd like to thank all you people over here," and then, turning around, "and all the people over here." Suddenly, an angry defender pummels my receiver and screams, "You're welcome, punk!" I about fell out of my chair! I could not stop laughing this really helps catch the spirit of the game.

So the sound in the game was a little odd and at first hard to get used to. A PA Announcer in a small way delivers the play by play, not some TV guy so you get some weird gaps. But in those gaps, you can here a touch of trash talking that after the hour and a half playtime it still has not grown old. The crowd is pretty lifeless in the background but is brought to life on the jumbotron cut scenes and boy it gets pretty funny to watch when your beating there team. The soundtrack of metal mix and pop plays along just fine but I have never heard of any bands that keep playing.

The only real complaint I have is that its one arena everygame you get nothing new to look at. Now that's ok because the gameplay fixes that. So if your an old school gamer like myself Arena Football is worth the pickup! Arena Football is a fantastic way to cure those post-Football season blues thanks to the numerous spectacular plays you will witness every game. This game is really, really fun.

4 out of 5 Stars!

Now if you will excuse me I need to go finish a season.

Alive forever!

The City Of The Dead
1960 | Color | 1 Hr 18 Min | Horror | PG-13 | Vulcan Films

Director:
John Llewellyn Moxey

Writers:
George Baxt
Milton Subotsky

Stars:
Patricia Jessel
Dennis Lotis
Christopher Lee

Synopsis:
A young college student arrives in a sleepy Massachusetts town to research witchcraft; during her stay at an eerie inn, she discovers a startling secret about the town and its inhabitants.

Hammer films big rival Amicus (Vulcan) Productions first feature the City of the Dead is nothing to skip past. Director John Llewellyn Moxey drop's us into a small town with this twisted tale of witchcraft. With gorgeous set pieces, you are quickly drawn in and with an all-star cast to drive the story along City is worth tracking down.

Also worth the mention City had a name change when it came to the states as Horror Hotel. The film omits a few lines during Elizabeth Selwyn's burning at the stake in the first scene, which is critical to fully understanding the plot but apparently offended American censors or the heavy populated Catholics that had some strange power over Hollywood. Thankfully I watched the none American version and after reading what lines they did edit out I have to say skip Horror Hotel.

Although Christoper Lee is the big name here Patricia Jessel is nightmare fuel. She has this look about her the is creepy and her pushy attitude makes you hate her even more, this is pure gold! Lee was young looking for me most movies I have seen with him he already has grey hair.

Former mother in law to Axel Rose, the stunning and adorable Venetia Stevenson lights up the dark screen in the lead role. Her performance is so loving you can forgive the hard edges during some of the dialogue. Shortly after the City of the Dead Stevenson left acting but did not leave Hollywood she became a script reader for Burt Reynolds's production company and, subsequently, became vice-president of Cinema Group, a production company that made several films in the 1980s.

Tales from the Crypt composer Douglas Gamley sets the mood with an eerie soundtrack for chants to the low melody undertone's that build up the tension and never let's go until the last credit rolls by. The Jazz music used for the dance sequence was from Ken Jones.

I know most of my readers are fans of Witches, Ghosts, and anything Halloween so with that said if you have not seen The City of the Dead I highly recommend putting this on your Halloween season watch list. From the creepy atmosphere driven with a great soundtrack and an ensemble of actors that we know and love, City of the Dead is well worth your time.

Burn witch, burn witch, burn!

Hell Hath No Pizza

Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey
1991 | Color | 1 Hr 33 Min | Comedy | PG | Orion Films

Director:
Peter Hewitt

Writers:
Chris Matheson
Ed Solomon

Stars:
Keanu Reeves
Alex Winter
William Sadler

Synopsis:
The world of our distant future is a veritable utopia, thanks to the lyrics of two simple-minded 20th Century rock and rollers, Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted "Theodore" Logan. However, a would-be conquerer threatens to throw history off-track by sending "most non-non-heinous" evil robot Bill and Teds back to kill their good counterparts. Finding themselves dead, the boys must outwit the Grim Reaper and traverse Heaven and Hell to return to the land of the living, rescue their "babes" and have a "most triumphant" concert at the all-important Battle of the Bands.

The last time I watch Bogus Journey had to be in 1991 when I was working at the theatre. My worst memory for working this movie is that dang Kiss song "God Gave Rock n Roll To You" that I would have hear while cleaning up popcorn and soda four times a day as it blasted through the auditorium. And even now when somebody mentions Bill And Ted my brain goes there and the song sticks around for hours just like it is doing now while I write this. And here is a fun fact Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure was one of the first movies I worked for in fact it was the first movie I thread through the projector by myself.

Of course, I know why it has taken so long to revisit this Journey other than seeing it many times at work that year would have to be quite honest I did not like it. Ok, I said it it was lame so did it hold up almost twenty years later? The short answer "Yes"! I think I had more fun watching Journey now than I did then. Sure its silly makes little sense but in the end, it was fun to sit back and enjoy once again. All in all, it got me a little hyped for part three.

By far the biggest thing that holds this movie together quite simply is the soundtrack from Slaughter, Faith No More, Winger,  and of course Primus this movie rocks out and never stops! The look this time around falls a tad flat in my opinion as The Bill and Ted University students are dressed in colorful Day-Glo costumes constructed with neoprene to try and give it a 2425 vibe.

So yeah I had a ton of fun revisiting Bill and Ted while Steve and I cleaned our cabin up at camp in a way it was a perfect movie to end our yearly journey as well. If you have not seen Bill and Ted in awhile it just might be worth the rewatch if anything there is the soundtrack!

For Steve and I both give The Wild Stallions...

Well, the E-Mail that Charles Band just sent out has fan boy's like me jumping for joy with anticipation.

"the really big deal this weekend is that Charlie will be making a special appearance to unveil what just might be the most EXCITING and IMPORTANT feature film development in recent Full Moon history...On Saturday, August 4th at 1:30 PM SHARP live at Flashback Weekend, Band will screen a sneak peek at an EXCLUSIVE highlight reel for the most mythical and talked about movie in our 30 year history. A long-in-the-vault stop-motion animation magnum opus begun by Band and FX wizard David Allen that was shelved after his death in 1999. That movie will FINALLY be completed and released early next year.

It's no secret that Band has been trying to get this done for years now, about a year ago he started talking about Primeval and found footage. He also mentioned that out of the 250 stop motion shot's that they needed to finish only 150 were done before Allen passed away from Cancer. As soon as I hear more I will be sure to post it!
