Video Killed The Radio Star on This Date 1981

Cashing in on a new form of popular entertainment, the MTV network debuts, complete with "video jockeys" (VJs) introducing music videos today in 1981. The first video shown, 'Video Killed the Radio Star,' will prove partially prophetic.

    We never had cable TV when I was a kid, so I missed out entirely on the MTV phenomena.
