So today starts off all wrong! I took my girls to school and upon coming home I noticed one of our Halloween decorations had been stolen! My wife heard kids late last night but why the heck steals something like that!! We live in a quite neighbourhood you know the kind that you could leave your car unlocked, well that has changed the past few years and it's beginning to tick me off. Anyway for classic scares Thursday I have a few artist renditions of some great movie posters. I wish I knew who did these they are pretty amazing.

Thanks to a quite lazy afternoon I finally check out Dracula Live From Transylvania. This show is on the Roku App Vintage Halloween Channel that I bought last year for .99 cents. It's not a bad channel and for what it's worth the price was not bad as well. This so-called Documentary is hosted by George Hamilton as he interviews vampire experts Radu Florescu; and Bernard Davies of the Dracula Society, located in London. You get a mixed bag of taped segments and live telecast from Transylvania.

When Sam and Melly are forced to move to a town inhabited by monsters, they are quickly befriended by the neighborhood kids known as 'the Lil Creepers'. There's Bela, the young teething vampire; Boris, a miniature Frankenstein's Monster; Vinnie, a spunky tough-talking werewolf; Elsa, a cute devil girl with a fiery hot temper; and Lonnie, a groaning mummy who drags around his dead pet dog, Blister. The first episode 'Tricks or Tricks' follows Sam and Melly as they go trick or treating with their new friends, only to be terrorized by the local bully, a zombie named Eddie. In the second episode 'Bela's Bash', the gang celebrates Bela's birthday at his Transylvania-style mansion with morbid games like Pin the Tail on the Ogre. Eddie the Zombie tries once again to ruin the Lil Creepers' fun, but he gets a taste of his own evil medicine instead.

After finding this DVD earlier this summer, I was pretty excited to check it out this Halloween season. It was not a bad price only .50 cents and with the tiles Tricks or Tricks and Bela's Bash who could go wrong? Well me obviously! These Halloween tales even left the girls scratching their heads. My oldest started pointing out all the flaws but my youngest she was not complaining too much.

The characters are fun and done very well kind of in the style you would find on a cereal box. But the stagnant backgrounds with choppy computer generated animation comes off kind of well amateurish. Which in many ways it was. You can not find much on the H2 Studios and IMBD shows this as the only product to come out of them. Don't get me wrong I do understand this was 2004 but you would think they would be just a little less clunky.

What has to be the oddest thing trough out both episodes is why the hell are they wearing diapers?? They come off as maybe 5th or 6th graders, not toddlers. Yep, that left us scratching our heads as well. Not all was bleak with Lil Creepers the voice actors do a good job with the dialogue they where given. And one of the bright spots would have to be the soundtrack that has a Big Bad Voodoo Daddy vibe.

So at 22 minutes it was hardly long enough to really hate it and truly it has potential, to be good. The characters are fun but the story kind of lacks along with a not so smooth animation. I can not sit here and tell you to seek it out even if it was on late night TV all though the previous owner must have liked it as it was pretty scratched up showing that somebody out there got into the Halloween Spirit thanks to the Lil creepers, just not us...

All though Sven just had a showing of this a few years back I'm looking forward to watching this once again. Something fantastic about those old Sci-Fi movies. This was Universal's first 3D film and had the credits at the end of the movie which was rare back then. So be sure to check your local listing's for tonight's showing of Svengoolie.

Plot: When three N.Y. kids are murdered, the local Hatiian voodoo priest re-animates their shrunken heads to exact revenge. Complications arise between one of the heads and his former girlfriend.

Inspired by their favorite comic book heroes, young Tommy and his pals take it upon themselves to clean up their menacing neighborhood by busting the local street punks. Thank's to one of those big clunking Camcorders. (Just shows how much the iPhone has changed us) But the three boys run into big trouble for all their good intentions in the form of Big Mo played by Meg Foster, the local crime boss and all around bully. Mo wastes no time in wasting the trio of irritating do-gooders.

But Sumatra played by Julius Harris(Super Fly, Darkman), a retired but still practicing voodoo specialist revives the boys with a healthy dose of mumbo-jumbo. With their new power the shrunken trio head out to take on Big Mo and her boys!

Warm Frosted Pumpkin Pie

Is there anything better during the hunting season then anything Pumpkin-flavored? We all love the sights and sounds of the season and in this house we love the taste as well. Now I'm not a fan of Poptarts and for some reason growing up I was never allowed to have them, in fact, some days I would have to sneak over to a friends house just to try them out from time to time. Never the less still not my fav. This year though I have not had much luck on finding Eggo's Pumpkin spice waffles so I settled on these Frosted Pumpkin Pie tarts.

The first thing you notice taking them out is the strong scent of pumpkin and an overload of frosting with fall color sprinkles. As for the filling, it has a good taste but really lacks on how much filling is really inside. I sure could have used a little bit more. Oh yeah does Taster Struddle still make their pumpkin pie now that has a lot of filling and tasted much better. Anyway for now this will do I did not hate them but it will take some time before I pick them up again. If you are a pop tart lover that enjoys the flavors of fall then I have to say dive in!

People are always talking about how Halloween has become to SEXY? But if you really look back it's always had its alluring moments. You know like these

Like really what does shoe polish have to do with some good looking witch with cleavage? Halloween gives all of us a chance to be something or someone we are not. It's one night people relax. As a kid, you want to be a Teletubbies or the cookie monster. As an adult, you want to be a sexy looking Witch and Warlock.

18 Halloween Party Classics

Oh, how those Now CD's never end do they. So when my wife and kids brought home Now Halloween I was not surprised. As far as the mix goes it'snot too bad for a novice, but with some of the same old same old on here it's hard to please the hardcore Halloween Music collector.

I honestly would love to see a Halloween mix without Don't Fear the Reaper or Werewolves of London not to mention John Carpenters Halloween Theme. In fact, why doesn't somebody use Laurie's Theme instead that is just as scary. You do get some pretty cool gems on here though like Bad Things by Jace Everett and Season of the Witch by Donovan. Those along with Run DMC's Ghostbusters and DJ Jazzy Jeff's Nightmare on My Street round's off some fun music you don't always hear this time of the year.


All in all, it is a fun little mix to enjoy your ride to school or work we give this bad boy...

Dr. Lynn Harper, psychologist, has been called out to the old Ingston Mansion, a dark and mysterious place with a very bad reputation, in order to make an assessment of the sanity of Margaret Ingston, daughter of patriarch Kurt Ingston. She claims to be sane, but she is clearly very disturbed; we can't be certain, although the doctor gives her a clean bill of health. But then Dick Baldwin shows up on the scene, just when Dr. Lynne has been receiving thinly veiled threats from the inhabitants of the house. 

Three medical doctors have been invited out to the mansion as well, Dr. Timmons, Dr. Phipps and the sleazy Dr. King (Lionel Atwill). One by one the doctors is mysteriously murdered. Dick Baldwin must figure out who is doing the killings, and he must do so before whoever it is can kill his new love interest, Dr. Lynne Harper. But the only one he can trust is Kurt Ingston himself since Ingston has no legs and can't have perpetrated these murders. Is it sinister Rolf, the butler, or Laurie, the sex crazed and sociopathic chauffeur, or Agor Singh, the Hindu Yogi with his strange ways? And of course, Lynne might be wrong, Margaret may be very insane, and she might be the culprit. (Source IMDB)

Can not think of a better way to kick off the Halloween season than doing it with Bela Lugosi! I'm not sure that I have seen this one yet so it is safe to say that I can not wait. Make sure to check your local stations for air times. Pop of some corn grab your soft drinks and enjoy Night Monster.

Throughout the year, I have watched a few movies that I said that come Halloween these should be reviewed. Even added to the whole this should be on my list of must watch during the cool fall season. So first up,

The 1979 creepy thriller Tourist Trap. This movie wowed me in so many ways. The biggest surprise of this Tourist Trap has to be it's unforgivingly creepy soundtrack that will play in my Halloween Mix this year. I ended up giving the movie 4 bloody brains. Also lent it out to a few non-horror movie friends that loved it as well!

   For a few Classic Monster heads out there Vampire Bat is already on of    those movies they revisit from time to time. I love these old simple black and white movies they give you chills mainly because the story line is so good. The movie surprised me and I felt a little silly waiting so long to have watched it.

Talk about a low budget gem! This movie still sticks out in my little brain as one of the best movies I have seen so far this  year. It has it all suspense that is nerve racking a cast that works well together  and a killer map! I might even revisit this one again this year. Be forewarned the ending almost kills the whole movie.

Yes, it is that wonderful time where I spend the next 31 day's enjoying the Halloween season with the legion's of fans! The blog hop we all have been waiting for!  The first time I had ever seen Halloween was on Channel 32 WFLD Chicago one cold and raining Halloween night. The setting was perfect it was a Friday night so a bunch of us neighborhood kids got together for a sleepover after trick or treating way back in 1981. Do to censoring Carpenter filmed 12 extra minutes to be edited in while they were shooting Halloween 2. At the young age of 11 scary movies were not so new to me but for my friends it was great fun seeing them all squirm. I will also never forget the year Halloween 2 hit broadcast TV and how we all made sure to get together that year as well. We were too old then to trick or treat so it was a pizza and soda kind of sleepover. The first 3 Halloween movies are a staple for the season and for many great reasons why. When you look at what scares younger kids it's the monster under the bed or the Boogey Man!
