Brick Bardo is a traveler from outer space who is forced to land on Earth. Though regular sized on his home planet, he is doll-sized here on Earth, as are the enemy forces who have landed as well. While Brick enlists the help of an impoverished girl and her son, the bad guys enlist the help of a local gang. When word leaks out as to his location, and all hell breaks loose. Brick is besieged by an onslaught of curious kids, angry gang members, and his own doll-sized enemies, and he must protect the family who has helped him and get off the planet alive.

Looking for a fun little (See what I did there) Sci-Fi Action movie then look no further then Dollman. Other then is complete cheesy goodness I can not say a bad thing about this movie other then why the hell did I wait so long to watch it. Brick Bardo our hero is not much of a stretch then Tomerson's other big roll in Trancers, but that is ok it works! And like my dad would say if it ain't broke don't fix it. The visuals look very good for a B movie from the early 90's and the planet Bardo is from looks futuristic and fun, not just some silly world that you can not believe in. And any time that (Oscar Nominated) Jackie Earle Haley plays a bad guy you know you're in for a treat.

The plot moves along at blazing speed and you get wrapped into its world so easily that you look past some of the bad special effects to make Thomerson look smaller than everybody else. The gun in the movie could easily be the true star with its Iron Man meets the Enforcer type values. It does not just kill you, it kills you slowly even if it blows you to mush and pulp.

And let us talk about his arch nemeses in the form of Frank Collison playing a killer head Sprug. I love everything about this character his look his style and the fact that he is a floating head! And sure cheesy at times he still looks pretty dang cool. The music is not much here, but it still helps the flow. The Blu-Ray really looks good and the sound mix is pretty much up to par with today's new titles.

Screen cap from the DVD shows how well the Blu looks

So go ahead punk and make my day...
