Stars:

Synopsis:
Zvi marks the directorial debut for Alex Nicolaou. The Tough Titty is a strip club that’s seen better days. But tonight it’s gonna see a whole lot worse. Spider has been losing money on his business for years. Now it’s finally getting the traffic he’s always wanted… unfortunately, most of his patrons are undead. With a sudden outbreak of the zombie virus, Vanilla, Bambi, and Sugar Hills deal with the disaster the way only a stripper can.
I'm going to review this movie a little bit different:
Here are 5 bad things about this film
1) The Set looks more like an Ikea then a Strip Club.
2) The soundtrack -ugh-
3) Stripping - OK I'm no expert on the matter but Demi Moore did a better job acting like a stripper.
4) Hambo - what the hell was this? Oh, wait this is so we can have an action figure someday.
5) Opening Credits- Good God-Man they gave me a headache.
Mom always said If you are going to say something bad about somebody you need to say something nice. So here are5 things 10 things that make this movie good.
1) Alex Nicolaou - for his first film he did a good job. In fact, I hope he does more for Full Moon Features.
2) The girls are easy on the eyes (When they are not stripping)
3) A ton of Zombie and the makeup was top notch.
4) Gore factor! Yes for a full moon movie we get blood and face's being ripped off and gore! About dam time.
5) Circus-Szalweski it was nice of him to get in front of the camera and away from the microphone. He hit his mark as Spider.
6) The death scenes are well executed.
7) Brad Potts!
8) Tools used by the strippers to fight off the Zombies.
9) Going to say it again the Special FX are really not bad for a low budget movie.
10) No out of place full moon toys or merch anywhere!
And I could go on. This movie has a lot going for it. Strong cast, good directing and for every horror man fan out their Zombies and Strippers! Nothing too new on the whole Zombie overkill genera but a fresh take never the less. This is a good weekend movie to grab some bud's some beers sit and settle in for a good time! I would have to say for a $1 rental at the Redbox it is well worth it.

The Super-Shock Sensation Of All Time...
...All Together... All Terrific... Bringing All NEW Thrills!
Director: Erle C. Kenton
Writer: Edward T. Lowe Jr.
Dracula arrives at Dr. Edelman's office asking for a cure to his vampirism. However, this is a ruse by Dracula to get near Dr. Edelman's beautiful female assistant and turn her into a vampire. Meanwhile, a sincere Lawrence Talbot, AKA the Wolfman, arrives seeking a cure for his lycanthropy. When Dr. Edelman's first attempt fails, Talbot tries to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff but instead finds a network of underground caves where Frankensteins Monster is in stasis. Chaos ensues as the three monsters fight for dominance of each other.
Last of Universal's original FRANKENSTEIN series of seven films, except for 1948'S "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, " shot from September 21-October 25, 1945, released December 7.
This movie was part of the SON OF SHOCK package of 21 titles released to television in 1958, which followed the original SHOCK THEATER release of 52 features one year earlier. Which, of course, lead to the fantastic world of Horror Host's!
Lionel Atwill who played Police Inspector Holtz was terminally ill with cancer during filming and died shortly after the production wrapped.
When the vampire bat is flying, the strings guiding it are visible.
The skeleton of Dr. Niemann in the cave has a highly visible, perfectly even, horizontal seam line running all the way around the top of the head; it is obviously a skeleton model often sold by medical and education supply houses to schools.
Some scenes of the Frankenstein monster use stock footage from Bride of Frankenstein and The Ghost of Frankenstein wherein the differences between Boris Karloff. Lon Chaney Jr. and Glenn Strange in the same role become apparent.

With over 4 hours of spooky entertainment under $6 bucks is not bad. But what is bad is the odd mix. Kids checking in to watch Busy World are not the kids that will watch Archie or Sabrina. Even with the odd man out this set looks great. And the bonus episode of Hey Vern puts it over the top.

Weezie George is coming home.
The TV world has lost another great today. Sherman Hemsley born February 1,1938 has passed today in El Paso, Texas where he resides when not working. No immediate cause of death has been reported.
The Emmy and Golden Glove nominated actor was 74.
Famous for his role of George Jefferson from 1975-1985. But let us not forget some of his other notable TV shows. Who can forget Dinosaurs, The Love Boat, All in the Family, Amen and of course The Twilight Zone (1985). Hemsley has also entertained us on the big screen In Mr. Nanny or American Pie: Book of Love. And for the Horror fans the comedy/horror classic's Love at First Bite and Ghost Fever.
Catch up Time
So the past few weeks it's been time with the family and clearing off my Tivo. So with the heat index over 100 all summer, I have had some time to catch up. So here are a few quick-hit reviews of the movies that I have watched the past few days.
Ssssss
1973 | PG | Horror | Universal
College student David (Face from the A-Team) is looking for extra cash. So he is hired by Dr. Stoner (Gunsmoke/Bonanza) as a lab assistant for his research and experiments on well duh Snakes. Romance is also in the air for David as he falls for the crazy Doc's foxy daughter Kristina (Logan's Run). Dr. Stoner starts to shot up David with a secretly brewed up serum that can transform any man into a King Cobra!
The cast in this movie works pretty well together and they did use real snakes. But the 1970's look and feel just does not carry over as well. The music was flat and the special effects just ok. The movie does fit in well with the horror host crowd as I was lucky enough to watch Svengoolie rip at this movie which did help make it better.
Ghost Breakers
1940| NR | Comedy/Horror | Paramount
Despite warnings and death threats Mary Carter (Paulette Goddard) sets off to see her inherited family home. Located on a small island off of Cuba sits the haunted castle. Thankfully before the trip sets sail radio broadcaster Larry Lawrence (Bob Hope) thinks he shoots the mob boss the he is there to talk to. Larry then hides out in Mary's room, stuff's himself into a chest, and now he is fleeing New York. Thank goodness he brings his butler Alex (Willie Best) for comic relief.
Once in the castle here come those eerie ghosts. Then they fight off a menacing Zombie (The Voodoo kind not the Romero Kind) find the key to the treasure. But don't forget about the mafia!
For a 1940's flick, the movie is not too bad. Hope drove me a little batty but the rest of the cast was a good fit. The story starts slow but ends well. The effects not too bad for the period and the music was well blended. Bottom line, not the best Bob Hope movie Goddard lights up the screen I would have to say watch this on a cold rainy day.

In Franklin, Indiana fans of the misunderstood genre the B movie they celebrate these classics. The Golden Cob has been going on for 5 years. This year's list is a fantastic one. Looks like 20th Century Fox and MGM will be getting a ton of my cash September 11! Can you believe the cover art for Killer Klowns? Jeepers Creepers has to be one of the best modern Monster Movies making it well worth the investment. To save money for the season I may have to skip TCM2 until the dump bins. And one more for you. Hitting shelves at the end of month Young Frankenstein on Blu-Ray. Their is little info on this at this time I will update when I hear more. As of know it looks like a bare bones release.

Luther Heggs, a meek, timid typesetter for a smalltown newspaper, envisions himself in his daydreams as a reporter worthy of winning the love of Alma Parker. His chance comes when he writes an article on the local "haunted house," where a gruesome murder and suicide took place 20 years earlier. The newspaper piece creates such a stir that Luther's editor, George Beckett, orders him to spend a night in the old house and do a followup story. During the long vigil, the terrified Luther discovers a hidden staircase, a bloodstained organ that plays by itself, and a portrait dripping blood. When his story is published, Luther is given a town picnic in honor of his courage. Nick Simmons, a descendant of the murdered couple and the current owner of the old house, sues Luther and his paper for libel. At the trial, the judge makes the jurors and all involved parties pay a visit to the deserted mansion. Although nothing is found, Luther accidentally tricks Mr. Simmons into revealing his own guilt in the 20-year-old killings, and Luther once again becomes the town hero.
Here are some fun facts
One of the few American films shot in the Technicolor Corporation's Techniscope wide screen process. The wide screen effect was achieved by essentially splitting the usual film frame horizontally into two smaller frames with a greater width to height ratio. It was inexpensive, but yielded a grainy image, which probably explains why it was seldom used in Hollywood.

The street used for the film was also used in The Burbs.

James Best is back in...
A TV Reality Show hires Captain Thorne Sherman (James Best) and his boat to cargo supplies to the deserted offshore island they’re using as a filming location. Thorne would have refused the job because he’s been to that island before and stills sees it in his nightmares. Unfortunately, as the boat departs, Thorne is too hungover to realize where they’re going and his first mate Rook (Rick Hurst) needs the money. So they sail — to a place Thorne Sherman never wanted to see again as long as he lived: the island of the Killer Shrews.
As the TV crew and two-fisted animal expert Johnny Reno (John Schneider) shoot their reality show, some of the cast and crew go missing, attacked and eaten in a bloody feeding frenzy by strange creatures. But tough as nails Producer Stella, sleazy Director Willard and manipulative Writer Lenora couldn’t care less about the human cost. They are ruthlessly focused on getting their show in the can, regardless of the body count. Only cute young camera operator Mickey (Jennifer Lyons) and her on-again off-again boyfriend Sam grow concerned about their vanished friends. And Captain Thorne grows uneasy. Only he knows that the island holds hidden danger. The place is crawling with giant Killer Shrews, the result of a 50 year old experiment gone terribly wrong.
No one is prepared when the Killer Shrews attack, devouring everything in their path! Thorne moves the panicked and blood-spattered survivors to a safe house – the same scientific compound where the man-eating shrews were spawned half a century ago. Everyone is grateful, but creeping suspicion grows. How does Thorne know about this place? And what is his connection to the Killer Shrews?
But these questions can wait. The shrews are fast and ferocious, able to strip flesh from their screaming victims in seconds. And they are ready to attack – now! Stella rises to the occasion, taking charge among the bloody carnage. But her heroism leads to her sudden and gory demise, and soon more crew members fall prey to the creatures’ ravenous, slathering jaws. To make matters worse, Jerry, a mysterious castaway, stalks the survivors. Jerry has a strange hold over the ravenous Killer Shrews, and at times he can control the crawling monsters.
Thorne and Jerry share a strange history, a past linked to the horrific-flesh-eating Shrews. Now Jerry is targeting Thorne for bloody vengeance, and no one is safe from the dangerously insane castaway. Fleeing the relentless carnivorous shrews, Mickey takes refuge in a cave. But her safe haven turns to shocking horror when Mickey is trapped by Jerry. Sam braves the hordes of flesh eating monsters to rescue Mickey from the madman’s lair, but Jerry gets the upper hand. On this island, it’s eat or be eaten, and Jerry decides who is hunter and who is prey.
As the number of survivors dwindle they must overcome their differences to avoid getting eaten alive. But before Thorne can get off the island he must face his horrific past — and a final showdown with Jerry. Time is running out for the survivors to get off the island before the voracious monsters turn them all into bloody Shrew bait.

The Killer Shrews has been hailed as a cult classic for years. In fact Legends 3d put out a colorized version and has been featured on hit shows Mystery Science Theater, Elvira, and Svengoolie. The movie looks pretty good with a blend of New up and coming stars and the folks of Hazard County.
The only thing that makes me nerves is the Shrews them selves the CG looks a little rough around the edges. But the movie looks good the cast seems strong so fingers crossed this will be a fun ride.
Check out the offfical web site for the movie here.

Lincoln The Bad Ass
Abraham Lincoln Vs Zombies
2012 | Color | 96 Minutes | 1.78:1 | R | Horror | Dolby Digital | Asylum
Director:
As Abraham Lincoln labors over the Gettysburg address, the importance of which he is fully aware, he learns that a menace from his past has returned, threatening to tear the already fractured nation to pieces. He must journey behind enemy lines to face a foe far more fearsome than the Confederate army: the walking dead.
Now on to the good. This IS the strongest cast I have seen in an Asylum film ever! This is also one of the strongest plots for this mockbuster! And they are not shy when it comes to spinning a big blockbuster and making it their own. This time, it truly worked. After watching Abe smack down some zombies I became a big fan of Robert Ogden who played Robert Chamberlain. Between Ogden and Bill Oberst Jr. they made you forget about the bad CG and lame battlefield.
Living in the Land Of Lincoln I'm glad Bill Oberst Jr. represents all that is well with honest Abe. Talk abut hitting the jackpot. Asylum had the right man for the role. He had the look the voice and the zombie killing mojo that made this movie enjoyable.
Abe's weapon of choice was fun and the way he whipped it out of his coat genius. And Abe's wit in this movie was top notch even better than the time our 16th president helped the Star Ship Enterprise
on the planet Excalbia!
And before you complain about sleeping zombies just look at it this way before the nuclear fallout of today olden day Zombies needed there rest. Get over it! The ending of this movie was truly a high point. I'm not one for spoilers so I will not give anything away other than to say it was well done.
This is not the greatest movie ever but if you are looking for a time killer on a rainy day you owe it to yourself to see it. On the bright side if you see this you will soon be able to say I remember Bill Oberst Jr. when he was doing low budget films. Yes, he is the next big thing! And he should be on the top of the list for best portrayal our 16th President.
This movie does a good job kicking Zombie Butt! 4 yes 4 bloody brains out of 5 it is a good time!
Bonus Features on the Disc A fun little Making Of Featurette.

OK, I'm just going to say it! From beginning to end this is a fantastic movie! Not what I was expecting at all. This movie has more going for it than not. The story was strong the directing was good and the acting was brilliant (more on that in a minute).
Now this movie does have some weak spots but for a low budget if you relax and get wrapped into this movie it does not matter. So on to the weak, it is only a few things of course for a gore fest way to much CG blood. This is the broken record when it comes to Asylum. I was having trouble getting past some of this. At first, it was fine but it tainted the movie at times. Second the scenery felt out of place at times and to clean for a war zone but again easy to get best thanks to Karl Hirsch's writing. And last of the bad I swear it was the same 15 zombies over and over again. Sure I get it you need to save money someplace but change the clothes or the makeup so we die hard fans don't get too upset.

Director: Charles Lamont
Writers: Herbert H. Margolis

Francis in the Haunted House is a 1956 black-and-white comedy film, the last in the Francis the Talking Mule series, but without the talents of previous director Arthur Lubin, human star Donald O'Connor and Francis' best-known voice Chill Wills. In this film, Francis witnesses a murder and befriends David Prescot, played by Mickey Rooney who may be next in line. Francis explains that he once lived on the farm of Prescott's uncle and is protecting his nephew out of respect for the uncle. The mule eventually helps Prescott uncover a mystery involving murder, an inheritance and a spooky old mansion on the edge of town.
The seventh and final entry in the series, Francis in the Haunted House, was made without any of the key creative personnel. O'Connor quit, quoting the actor, "When you've made six pictures and the mule still gets more fan mail than you do...." Mickey Rooney, who according to his autobiography was originally considered for a United Artists "Francis" movie before Universal bought the rights, replaced O'Connor as a new but similar character, David Prescott. Director Lubin and Chill Wills were also absent, replaced respectively by Charles Lamont and voice actor Paul Frees, who did a close approximation of Wills' voice. The movie did not attempt any real explanation as to why Francis had left Peter Stirling. Francis explains that he decided to befriend reporter Prescott because he once lived on a farm owned by Prescott's uncle and wanted to protect his nephew out of respect for the deceased. With the original elements gone, the movie, a standard tale of fake ghosts and gangsters, was poorly received and is widely viewed as the weakest entry in the series.

This should be a safe and fun way to introduce the younger crowd to Svengoolie. Don't forget you can meet Svengoolie at G-Fest Saturday from 1-3. You will need to purchase a ticket to the event.

Oz: The Great and Powerful from Disney is a prequel to Dorothy and Toto's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The film stars James Franco in the role of Oz on his journey to become the ruler of the wondrous world. The trailer is filled with glorious special effects. But I'm not to sure at this point I was looking forward to it. But Sam Rami has yet to do me wrong.
Oz: The Great and Powerful will be in theaters on March 8, 2013.
Here is the poster one more time as well.
