WOW it's been awhile!

Ok, gang here is a small update from the past month. It's been kind of hard to get online these past days. The negative world we live in is just too much. And sadly it's not going to get any better leading up to November. First up the BLM movement. 

Even our small town was affected by the ugly turn of events. We had threats directed at us and with a store full of windows we had to take action. The whole town closed early boarded up windows and went home for the day. Thankfully nothing came of this and we went back to work the next day. Today we have a protest that has the town a little uneasy as Blue Lives Matter and Black Lives Matter plan on getting together on opposites sides of the street.  We sure hope it stays peaceful.

Now a little bit of good news we became God Parents once again! Though we had to stay home for the actual blessing we did get to finally meet baby Elli. 

Ok Ok stand back for this big update well two of them to be exact!! My oldest has begun her driving journey. She worked hard to ace the class during these remote learning days of summer! And believe it or not her first road time went pretty smoothly. We went out to the college parking lot for a few hours driving in circles. She starts instructor lead driving classes on the road this week and she will do just fine. And with that, this girl went out and got herself...

... a job! Look out world there is no stopping her! Both girls were chosen to be young ambassadors for Stage 212's virtual summer camp. Sadly 212 canceled all of there shows for the season and we patiently wait to see if Elf will happen this fall. 

And of course, the biggest thing to happen this summer, Hamilton! We made it a party that night and the girls have watched it numerous times this week. I love it such a great show kind of bummed I did not see it on stage, and to say we did not have the surround sound jamming we ended up blowing out a speaker. 

I did get some good movie viewing in last month and plan on posting those this week. I sure hope everyone is staying safe! And let us not make the wearing mask's political and more polite! Please wear a mask for the sake of the clerk behind the counter trying to help you while your breathing on them 😁!

This Hits of June 1st

With the Graduate hitting the box office Simon and Garfunkel hit it big with there singe "Mrs. Robinson" June 1st, 1968. "Mrs. Robinson" became the duo's second chart-topper, hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1969, it became the first rock song to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

This 1970 classic is such a wonderful song even today! "Everything Is Beautiful" is a song written, composed, and performed by Ray Stevens. It has appeared on many of Stevens' albums, including one named after the song, and has become a pop standard and common in religious performances. The children heard singing the chorus of the song, using the hymn, "Jesus Loves the Little Children", are from the Oak Hill Elementary School in Nashville, Tennessee. The song spent two weeks at number one that summer and was ranked the number 12 song of the year. 

Oh, the wonderful 80s and those catching Pop Metal songs. Yep on this day in 1985, David Lee Roth would grace us with some of the craziest videos ever. "Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" was a huge hit for Roth but would also be a hit for the original artist and a much better version by Louis Prima decades before. Roth's version would peak at number 12 that summer but would remain in heavy rotation on Mtv.

On a small tropical island, Bart Thompson and his crew are blasting the sea bed to deepen the harbor. In doing so, they seem to have dug into an ice-cold underwater pocket where they find two perfectly preserved dinosaurs. They remove the beasts to the shore where during a nighttime thunderstorm they are struck by lightning and reanimated. The unscrupulous island manager, Mike Hacker, also made a find: a Neanderthal man, who is also reanimated. While the Neanderthal and his new friend, a young boy named Julio, get into mischief Bart and the others must find a way to protect themselves from the rampaging beasts.

** Ugh I have been working with the new blogger and sending in any trouble I have been encountering so they can work out the kinks.  Sure its frustrating I had this set for Saturday and it did not publish. Also, those that visit my site know I have kept a formula for my Sven post's as well as reviews but the new Blogger has yet to let me keep it that way. I sure hope they listen to my feedback.

It's ok to be mad and upset I agree with you but today is Sunday its National Smile day lets find peace for one day hold your family a little closer, show them right from wrong, and SMILE, laugh, and be.

I love how the COVID has my youngest thinking outside the box. She has spent time face-timing her friends playing games online and cooking! She has been making cooking videos for a bit now and did this one on her own (OK Dad helped with Editing and plans on showing her the ropes) so sit back relax and enjoy Disneys Grey stuff.

June the month of Disasters and Junesploitation!

Thanks to Dubsism and The Midnite Drive-In for kicking off summer with a Disaster Flim Blogathon! Nothing like a little disaster to get you through 2020 right? June 10th watch out for

 END OF THE WORLD!

After witnessing a man's death in a bizarre accident, Father Pergado goes on a spiritual retreat, where he encounters his alien double bent on world conquest. Starring Christopher Lee and Sue Lyon from 1977. This has been on my backlog for a few years now with this being one of Charles Bands' first forays into producing films so you know I'm going to check it out!

Then Come back on June 11th for something really out there for me...

2012s Air Collision from Asylum Pictures so you know this going to be good,  right?? A fierce electromagnetic storm cripples communications; as a result, two planes - one a commercial jet, the other Air Force One, carrying the President of the United States and his family - are on a collision course. It does star Jordan Ladd and Meredith Thomas so if anything we have nice ladies leading the way and of course its an Asylum movie so we will get a ton of low budget special effects what more can one ask for?

And as a bonus but not a guarantee I would love to dive into another disaster flick so time permitting on June 12...

I have always wanted to dive into Vincent Price's The Last Man on Earth from 1964! When a disease turns all of humanity into the living dead, the last man on earth becomes a reluctant vampire hunter. I'm, not 100% that this is a disaster movie but it is about a Plague taking over the world staring Price so heck it, I'm in!

Also in June is F!This Movie's Junesploitation now I'm going to be 100% honest work is still kicking my butt but I really want to watch a movie or two on my days off so I just might pick a movie that coincides with that day that I'm off. Here is a look at the schedule.

Synopsis:

After receiving word about a mysterious skeleton unearthed in the Arizona desert, a father and his daughter visit the man who has it and grab the skull as they escape a shack the gargoyles have attacked. Once they do so, they, as well as the town, are besieged by a colony of gargoyles living in some nearby caverns.

I don't know it might be a hard pass for me tonight. Just not sure about this one. 

Back to Work and it kind of sucks!

Hey, gang how is everybody? So yeah went back to work and... well... it's been hard. My body hurt so bad the first few days. Literally would come home and melt into my chair trying to stay positive. By the second week, I was my old self laughing with customers joking around, yet my body still hurt lol oh well getting older I guess. I would like to say one thing tho if you are pissed about wearing a mask please do not take it out on an employee they are just doing a job. I feel like a small group go into stores just to pick a fight, stop it call your congresspeople, not us we are trying to help you. Ok, put my soapbox away. Sadly I had no time for video or photos last week I will do better this week I promise.

My first day back I drove by the house we dubbed The Amityville House back when we where kids. By the looks of things, I should have turned around and gone home...

Those Turkey Vultures sure are sending a message...

But not all things where bad we did say goodbye to the most bizarre school year. The girl's sad goodbye from the car as we drove past all the teachers and staff. Lainey stayed on the High Honor Roll and Ella finished will A's and B's so homeschool did not slow them down too much.

Sadly I have not watched any of my TV shows the past few weeks just too tired, and only watched a small handful of movies so far but like I said feeling much better and I'm looking forward to getting back into the swing of things!!

Again I sure hope you are all safe and in good health, wash your hands, and mask up!

Henry Frankenstein is a brilliant scientist who has been conducting experiments on the re-animation of lifeless bodies. He has conducted experiments on small animals and is now ready to create life in a man he has assembled from body parts he has been collecting from various sites such as graveyards or the gallows. His fiancée Elizabeth and friend Victor Moritz are worried about his health as he spends far too many hours in his laboratory on his experiments. He's successful and the creature he's made come to life is gentle but clearly afraid of fire. Henry's father, Baron Frankenstein, brings his son to his senses, and Henry agrees that the monster should be humanely destroyed. Before they can do so, however, the monster escapes and in its innocence kills a little girl. The villagers rise up intent on destroying the murdering creature.
