Soundgarden "Live To Rise" Review

“Live to Rise,” Soundgarden’s first all-new song in 15 years. The move is to help promote this year's highly anticipated movie "The Avengers".

The original song written and recorded for and appearing in the film is the first single from the Marvel Music/Hollywood Records release Avengers Assemble. Soundgarden’s “Live to Rise” was the #1 most added song in its first week at Alternative and Active Rock U.S. radio. The single will be available as a free download for one week, April 17 through April 24. A pre-order for Avengers Assemble, the 13-track compilation of music from and inspired by the film, is also available on iTunes beginning April 17.

The band has been gearing up for a reunion tour and album to be released later this year. The Avengers sound track is a who's who of 90's alt rock.  With artist like Rise Against, Papa Roach, Bush, Buckcherry, and Five Finger Death Punch to name a few. The album will hit stores May 1st. You still have a few days to grab the free  song on Itunes. http://www.iTunes.com/Avengers

As for the song well I'm done with the 90's rock sound so for me it was just ok. It really never catch's the feeling of a summer block buster! What is with the oddly placed heavy gutars? And do we need to go back to that sad voice music? UGH, Lets hope the rest of the album rocks on. But hey the price was right. 2 Bloody Brains

  1. I'll have to check this track out. I was wondering if it was any good or not, or at the very least fitting to the film's vibe.

    1. Fiji maybe that's what I could not put a finger on! For me it did not give the film a very good vibe!
