O is for Outrun

I was never much of a gamer, but I could sit and play Outrun for hours on end.

I had a better post done but blogger somehow ate it and posted P a day early. So sorry about the short post I will be back tomorrow.

Why??

Bully prison warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser), leading a big state prison in the US of A, has a lot of problems; his prison statistically has the highest amount of prison riots, medical costs and staff turnover in the country. But foremost he is unable to get the respect he thinks he deserves from his inmates and the state Governor (Eric Roberts). He constantly fails in experimenting with different ideas for the ideal punishment to get the inmates in line, which drives him, together with the sizzling heat, completely insane. Under threats of termination by the Governor, his loyal right-hand man Dwight (Laurence R Harvey) comes up with a brilliant idea. A revolutionary idea which could change the American prison system for good and save billions of dollars. An idea based on the notorious Human Centipede movies, that will literally and figuratively get the inmates on their knees, creating the ultimate punishment and deterrent for anyone considering a life of crime. Having nothing to lose, Bill and Dwight create a jaw-dropping 500-person prison centipede.

M is for Michael!

Nothing and I mean nothing gets me in the Halloween spirit like Michael Myers! As soon as the cool chill hits the air and the leaves start to change I know it's the happiness time on earth! And let's face it for any Horrorhound Michael Myers is Halloween! The song, the look, it is all per magic to me.

Hi-yo, Silver away!

Remember when I posted about Gigglesnort and how it was part of our Sunday morning ritual? When Sunday morning with dad also meant watching Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels beat up the bad guys. Nothing got my day started with the sound of the Willaim Tell Overture. And who could forget...

Narrator: The Lone Ranger!

[gunshots are fired]

The Lone Ranger: Hi-yo, Silver!

Narrator: A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust and a hearty "Hi-yo Silver" - the Lone Ranger!

The Lone Ranger: Hi-yo, Silver, away!

Narrator: With his faithful Indian companion, Tonto, the daring and resourceful masked rider of the plains led the fight for law and order in the early West. Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear. The Lone Ranger rides again!

My love for Cowboys would stay with forever I still love watching them today.

Hail to the King!

Why King Kong well let me tell you a fun little story. Kong was a theatre hit in the winter of 1976. I was all about the king that year. In the spring of 1977 we bought our first Betamax player. To celebrate my family had a movie watching party.

Tikki torches, fresh live lobster and the neibors all came over for what was to be a fantastic time.

I remember everything about that night, in fact it was the first nightmare I can remember. We had the windows open that night and a cool wind started to blow in. As a storm fast approached thoughts of King Kong coming raced through my six-year-old head. I remember taking my sleeping 1-year-old sister out of her crib to protect her from the great ape! So while she was crying of course that woke my parents that where not every happy with me. After getting everybody to bed, I know I had some of the most fantastic nightmares that night  one I could not get myself up out of bed it was like I was trapped!

I could not get enough of King Kong after that. From backpacks to the coolest lunch box I had ever owned. And I can not get those dreams from that night out of my head.

J is for Jason

It would be a little hard pressed not to include Jason as one of my all time favorite Villain!

I have so many childhood memories of the hockey mask killer. One of the best was the night I had to babysit my younger brother and sister. Friday the 13th was on cable tv so without thinking we watched it. Sure I thought it would be fun. My six-year-old brother may have felt otherwise.

I had no clue how he felt until it was over and he just sat there staring at the TV...and staring...and staring. Never crying but boy I knew my ass was in a sling when mom and dad got home! To this day, he blames me for his fascination with horror movies. So in the end I guess it was a good thing. A few years later we would be in our basement with a stack of VHS horror flicks ready for the night! We still head out to convention's together, discuss the latest horror flick and reminisces about the good old days of horror movies. A bond that will last a lifetime thanks to a madman wielding a machete killing for mommy!

Sorry, this was a day late.

I is for Impossible Mission

Now I'm really going off the deep end on this one. But yep a video game is going to make the countdown. I don't play many games and I would say I'm a casual gamer. When all the neighborhood kids had cloeco vision's and atari's we had a vic 20 and a commodore 64.

The one game that got me through a long cold Illinois winter was Impossible Mission. The game had speech for crying out loud! Insane robots and death rays. The action never stopped and you could play this game over and over.

I really spent a lot of time playing this game. Destroy him my robots!

Find your way to the A to Z Challange for a great time as well.
