Sunflower Field (Cuteness Alert)

My youngest was about to get braces when she started seeing the post's on social media that the sunflower field was open and ready for those Instagram picture opportunities. So she quickly planned out our trip so she could get her photo's done before the big day. On our way out the rain started to roll in and tears started to form. I kept letting her know it will be fine and she would be so much happier with her pictures in the end. Well, I think they turned out pretty good with just the iPhone. So here are a few of those pictures to brighten your day.

My whole world right here in one cute little photo. Not going to lie and not trying to brag but I'm truly blessed. These girls can bring light to a cloudy day.

You have to love that sky with all that yellow. You also have to look close because Ella is hidden rather well.

Saved the best for last. Look at these two!! They might give me a headache from time to time, keep me busy running from rehearsals to basketball games but man it's worth it.

Oh, and my wife spotted this creepy faced Sunflower. Kind of looks like a charter from a comic book.

Also, this week was to be Camp week, so we had a little surprise visit with Steve!! So much fun that day sharing old camp stories learning that Alexa can fart... no really go ahead and ask her right now and defiantly ask her for the juicy fart. I also kind of feel bad for Steve as a few "Adult" items may have made it to the Amazon shopping list as well.

Ok, I hope this helped put a little smile on your face, I did watch a movie this week that I just have to talk about so watch for that review next week!

Until then stay safe, wear your mask, and smile we will get back to normal soon!!

Please Wear Your Mask.

Sorry I just get a kick out of this PSA with Jason. I know for a fact someone walked up to me the other day without a mask and I jumped backward, lol.

Spanning his childhood in Baltimore, to his formative years in New York, and his untimely death due to AIDS, “Howard” goes in-depth to explore his journey to become the lyricist behind some of the most beloved and well-known classic family films in the world.

The One & Only Ivan - An adaptation of the award-winning book about one very special gorilla, Disney’s "The One and Only Ivan” is an unforgettable tale about the beauty of friendship, the power of visualization and the significance of the place one calls home. Ivan is a 400-pound silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with Stella the elephant, Bob the dog, and vario us other animals. He has few memories of the jungle where he was captured, but when a baby elephant named Ruby arrives, it touches something deep within him. Ruby is recently separated from her family in the wild, which causes him to question his life, where he comes from and where he ultimately wants to be. The heartwarming adventure, which comes to the screen in an impressive hybrid of live-action and CGI, is based on Katherine Applegate’s bestselling book, which won numerous awards upon its publication in 2013, including the Newbery Medal.

Executive-produced by Dan Povenmire and Jeff "Swampy" Marsh (creators and executive producers of the long-running Emmy Award-winning series "Phineas and Ferb"), the movie centers on Phineas and Ferb as they set out across the galaxy to rescue Candace, who after being abducted by aliens, finds utopia in a far-off planet, free of pesky little brothers.

Also new Muppets will be out on August 7, 14, 21, & 28

“Muppets Now” is The Muppets Studio’s first unscripted series and first original series for Disney+. They are due now, and he’ll need to navigate whatever obstacles, distractions, and complications the rest of the Muppet gang throws at him.

Ivan well it looks ok we will see on that one and Phineas & Ferb will be watched at some point! I'm already looking forward to October's line up I sure hope they do not disapoint.

Here's Chucky

Thankfully the Chucky TV series wrapped up before the coronavirus pandemic shut down sets around the world,! And the killer doll will be making his way to television but not soon enough. Original writer Don Mancini, who has been involved with all of the films in the core series is spearheading the project and has revealed the first teaser for the show online. Confirming the series will premiere in 2021, airing on both SYFY and USA Network.

The new Chucky series is co-developed by Mancini with his series producer David Kirschner and will feature Brad Dourif returning to voice the character.

“With this TV show, our mission has been to preserve the straightforward scariness of the original film or the first couple of films,” said Mancini during an interview “But at the same time, continue on with this ever-expanding tapestry of consistent story that we’ve spun over the course of seven movies and 30-some years. I think fans are really gonna love to see the new characters that we introduce into this realm and just to see how they came off of our classic characters. Not just Chucky, but some of the others that you may be hoping to see."

I wish this would have made it to SYFY in time for Halloween, never the less you can bet it will light up the tube in the Man Cave once it premieres.

Here is the plot so far 'After a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale, an idyllic American town is thrown into chaos as a series of horrifying murders begin to expose the town’s hypocrisies and secrets. Meanwhile, the arrival of enemies and allies from Chucky’s past threatens to expose the truth behind the killings, as well as the demon doll’s untold origins as a seemingly ordinary child who somehow became this notorious monster."

July 13, 1939, Sinatra becomes a Heartthrob

Women swooned. Just a few years after he made his recording debut with the Harry James band on July 13, 1939, Frank Sinatra became a teenage heartthrob. Sinatra was more than just an overnight sensation. Unlike other pop artists, Sinatra's career didn't end after five or ten years but lasted more than half a century.

July 15, 1960, The Dance Craze!

When American rock artist Chubby Checker released his catchy pop song The Twist in 1960, few could have imagined that it would be responsible for a dance craze that would sweep the Western world in the early 1960s.

The dance itself had existed in its modern form since at least the late 1950s. Checker released his single in 1960 and it eventually claimed the top spot on September 19, 1960.

What I watched in June!

Watched on Sunday, June 28, 2020. Amazon Prime

Wow, this was crazy fun to watch and kind of relive my past a little. In fact, after soaking this bad boy in I jammed out to some Anthrax, DRI, and of course Suicidal Tendinitis. Being a young hick from a hick town that wore his hair long I never knew that Glam Metal, Thrash, and Punk all hated each other. Man, I listened to all of it never caring what side of the music spectrum it came from.  If you have Amazon Prime and you may have been a fan of this type of music this is a must-see documentary.

Watched on Sunday, June 28, 2020, Disney Plus

I have really enjoyed sitting back and escaping the real world for a bit with these Disney shorts. My kids are amazed to know these played before a big Disney film and it was the only way to see them. In fact, as kids, we could not wait to see which short would be shown. The Band Concert has always been one of my favorites so it was an easy...

I beat you think this is getting 4 stars to don't you? When a jealous Donald Duck tries to sabotage Mickey's magic act, he ends up becoming the victim of many of his magic tricks. In the end, Donald shoots the fireworks from Mickey's flare gun but accidentally causes the entire stage collapse on top of them. Yeah, this was just ok still a fun ride down memory lane.

Honestly gave it 3 1/2 Stars.

Watched on Friday, June 19, 2020. Amazon Prime

Rat Skates - Born In The Basement. This engaging documentary about the birth of Overkill and the Thrash scene is told by Overkill's founding drummer Rat Skates. Again Amazon Prime with the crazy Metal era documentary. The only thing I found interesting in this one was the grassroots approach he took to get his band off the ground later getting burned out just as the band was gaining airplay. In the end, this one falls just a tad flat.

This film features four different segments, each of which begins with various clips of the Disney artists roaming the country, drawing cartoons of some of the local cultures and scenery. Not sure that the stories hold up with this old Disney special but was happy to click play anyway.

Walt Disney discusses the history of animation, beginning with J. Stuart Blackton and his Humorous Phases of Funny Faces in 1906, and including Gertie the Dinosaur. Really enjoying these old Disney made for tv shows.

Chad Buckley is a horror aficionado, and he’s lonely. Chad spends his days at his struggling genre video store arguing with his only regular customer, Sam. When an unsuspecting applicant shows up, Chad begins to teach him about the rules of horror and his video store at large, much to the chagrin of Sam. During Chad’s on-boarding process, we weave in and out of different hilarious horror shorts, each one geared at a different set of horror tropes. As this new applicant learns the ropes, he begins to suspect Chad of something sinister, but we quickly learn that he may have a secret of his own. I loved Scare Package the only thing keeping it from a perfect 5 stars is that it was not perfect. The strong shorts are easily the throwbacks with practical effects and goopy story's. Sadly we get a few that just do not seem well placed. This was a fantastic treat from Joe Bob's Last Drive-in and if you have Shudder and love those old 80s horror flicks this one is a must-watch.
