I know we all hate Wal Mart but we can not resist the bargain bin DVD's and Blu-Rays. So after running in today my kids spotted the Mills Creek dump bin and they knew I would need to check it out. Picked up a few gems today. And at $2.96 who can blame me.
Gamera 3 Revenge of Iris
This award-winning, big-budget reboot of the classic 1960s Gamera franchise, brings the giant turtle monster back to life in a gorgeous High Definition presentation!
I picked up this DVD earlier this year that had 4 movies on it. I will have to review them and find out if one looks better then the other. Mr. Sardonicus if a fantastic little movie I have yet to watch Brotherhood of Satin.
Two Blood-Curdling Classics - Now in High Definition!Mr. Sardonicus - (1961) - B&W This creepy horror classic is based on a novella by screenwriter Ray Russell (X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes), and is brought to life by William Castle (13 Ghosts), master of terror! Desperate to retrieve a winning lottery ticket, a greedy baron unearths his father’s corpse. An enormous jackpot is his reward, but not without a price – his face is frozen permanently into a hideous grin. He enlists his fiendish one-eyed servant to help him lift this horrible curse, but their schemes fail. Finally, he turns to a noted neurosurgeon – and his wife’s former lover – to cure him.
Brotherhood of Satan - (1971) Children are mysteriously disappearing, their parents are being violently murdered and strangely enough, no one has been able to leave! When their car stalls, Ben and his family are stranded and are forced to join the sheriff, a priest and the prominent Doc Duncan in trying to unravel this frightening web of events. Suddenly, KT disappears, triggering a frantic search that results in the startling discovery of a deadly coven, led by Doc Duncan himself! Ben and the others must make a desperate attempt to stop these witches from performing a satanic ritual that transports their malevolent spirits into the innocent children – thus creating yet another generation of satanic worshippers!
THE GRAND DUELAlso known as Il Grande Duello, this classic Spaghetti Western features Lee Van Cleef in the role of a tough, gun-slinging sheriff out to defend a young cowboy accused of murder. Dressed in characteristic all-black, he must fend off the avenging Saxon brothers (who, naturally, drape themselves entirely in white). Action-packed with wild shoot-outs, riotous chase scenes and a fantastic score by composer Luis Enrique Bacalov (who would later be enlisted by longtime fan Quentin Tarantino to create film music for his work), this gritty gem remains a favorite among fans of the genre.
KEOMAFranco Nero is KEOMA, a half-breed gunfighter weary of killing as a way of life. But when he returns to his troubled childhood home, Keoma is caught in a savage battle between innocent settlers, sadistic bandits and his vengeful half-brothers. In a wasteland gone mad with rage and pain, can one man massacre his way to redemption? Woody Strode (ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST), William Berger (DJANGO STRIKES AGAIN) and Olga Karlatos (ZOMBIE) co-star in this one-of-a-kind classic that fans and critics consider to be one of the greatest `Spaghetti Westerns' of all time.
Plus Ernest goes to Jail on Blu-Ray hey why not, I will make for a great family movie night.
