Slim and Tubby are American cops in London to study police tactics. They wind up in jail and are bailed out by Dr. Jekyll. Jekyll has been murdering fellow doctors who laugh at his experiments. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the details of its upcoming 2D/3Dand 3D Blu-ray releases of Hotel Transylvania. The releases will be available for purchase on January 29th. Good news for those of us that missed it in theaters.

Ygor resurrects Frankenstein's monster and brings him to the original doctor's son, Ludwig, for help. Ludwig, obsessed with the idea of restoring the monster to full power, is unaware that his various associates all have different ideas about whose brain is to be transplanted into the monster's skull.

Watch for this odd little mistake:

The first time we see the close-up for the wall plaque for "Dr. Frankenstein - Diseases of the Mind" outside his "mansion", it is hardly in such a place. If you look close to the left of the sign you'll see a ladder, wires on the ground, palm trees and a station wagon type of car.

And an interesting note:

Lon Chaney was known for his hard-drinking ways. During production of this film, Chaney became inebriated while in full costume and got "lost" in the intricate mazes that were part of the laboratory sets. It took several minutes for him to find his way free. A similar incident occurred many years later when Chaney played the Frankenstein Monster on an episode of Tales of Tomorrow. Once again, Chaney became intoxicated and mistakenly believed that the show's live telecast was actually the final dress rehearsal. For much of the performance, Chaney stumbled about, picking up breakaway props he was supposed to destroy and then setting them back down.

After a harrowing ride through the Carpathian mountains in eastern Europe, Renfield enters castle Dracula to finalize the transferral of Carfax Abbey in London to Count Dracula, who is in actuality a vampire. Renfield is drugged by the eerily hypnotic count, and turned into one of his thralls, protecting him during his sea voyage to London. After sucking the blood and turning the young Lucy Weston into a vampire, Dracula turns his attention to her friend Mina Seward, daughter of Dr. Seward who then calls in a specialist, Dr. Van Helsing, to diagnose the sudden deterioration of Mina's health. Van Helsing, realizing that Dracula is indeed a vampire, tries to prepare Mina's fiance, John Harker, and Dr. Seward for what is to come and the measures that will have to be taken to prevent Mina from becoming one of the undead.

At first I was upset about all the reruns but after the news of Rich Koz having a heart attack I can understand the time off. Koz sure keep busy this Halloween season. Here is to a speedy recovery Mr. Goolie!

Rich Koz recovering after a Heart Attack.

Svengoolie and me at Flashback Weekend

Horror-movie host Rich Koz, better known as Svengoolie, is recovering after a heart attack Saturday.

“Rich’s condition is improving and his family has asked for privacy at this time,” said a press release from Weigel Broadcasting Co., which airs Koz’s show locally on WCIU-TV and nationally on Me-TV network.

Koz is a Chicago native and graduate of Maine East High School and Northwestern University.

Friends and fans of Svengoolie are being directed to send cards, if they wish to do so, to Rich Koz care of WCIU The U, 26 North Halsted, Chicago, IL 60661.

Koz previously suffered a heart attack in 2002, according to Time Out.

Happy Halloween!

Wow did Halloween get away from me this year! So much going on and not enough time. We have not even carved the pumpkins yet. But in all of this craziness we have done some really cool and fun things.

October started with a Wedding. Ella and Lianey made

Early on in the month Justine's Halloween Blog came up with a great and fun idea to share Mix Tapes! I had a blast digging through my old Cd's looking for the right songs. Justine's mix is still in my car and has been playing scene the day it arrived.

Next up AIEOU....and Sometimes Why came up with another great idea with the Great Pumpkin Gift Exchange.

I sent out a few movie posters, convention cards, eyeballs, gummy boogers and body parts. My Halloween Mix that I shared with Justine, home made Svengoolie DVD hosting Killer Klowns from Outer space and More. I had fun putting this together.

When my box came from Lisa over at Maple Grove Cemetery I was blown away! My girls loved the big rat and decorations and still drink out of the gobbets at dinner but what blew me a way was...

Then it was time for our first Halloween/Birthday Party. Costumes where not in yet so we scrambled to come up with something. Lainey went as a fifth grader and after Ella heard the birthday boy was going as Brett Michele she became a Poison Fan. Pulling out all that old 80's stuff was fun for my wife and I.

So it has been a wonderful time here at the cave I just wish I had more time to post! I missed so many things that I wanted to do and I will still do them (Creepmas is coming). I thank everybody that has stopped by the Man Cave and I wish you all a Happy Halloween.
