Earlier this year at Flashback Weekend I was told about a little old movie that was so bad it was starting to get a following. Of course my buddies know how much I love cheesy film's could not believe I had not heard of this before. That little old movie is Manos: Hands of Fate. Now when I got home I looked into this movie and it does sound right up my alley. Here is some backround; The movie was made in 1966 for less then $20,000.
The plot goes something like this: A family driving through a small town gets lost and winds up at a backwoods shack managed by Torgo, who takes care of it while The Master is away. The Master worships Manos, an evil deity, and he also wears a neat cape. When Torgo lets the family stay, The Master awakens and does mean stuff like burning off Torgo's hand and sicking his dog on the family pet. Meanwhile, The Master's wives wrestle for his favor. *Gulp* sounds odd don't it.
Now its so called cult status comes from Mystery Science Theater. This was one of the single highest selling dvd for the show. In fact they just released a new version earlier this year. So now director Rupert Talbot Munch Sr. is sequelizing the MST3K favorite with MANOS: THE SEARCH FOR VALLEY LODGE. He has also managed to return several of the original’s participants to the scene of the cinematic crime.
After a stint at ComicCon in 2008 Munch showed up in character as Torgo “I kinda felt obligated to display my nerd/acting chops and decided to never break character. For four days, I lived, breathed, fondled and gimped as Torgo! It was a labor of love —and pain.”
“After all of this, on a dare, I agreed to make a sequel to MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE,” Munch recounts. “In MANOS: THE SEARCH FOR VALLEY LODGE, The Master is a powerful sorcerer who gathers his wives—a polygamy cult—to propagate an army to serve the elder god Manos. The wives are ultimately stripped of individuality and converted into demonic types with supernatural strength/powers. In the first film, we were given hints of The Master and his powers, but it was never actually said what he and his followers were. Vampires? No. Undead? Maybe. I figured Torgo as a named demon/satyr type and just took it from there.”
Returning to the sequal are many of the original cast, and their families. Tom Neyman reprises The Master in THE SEARCH FOR VALLEY LODGE, with his daughter Jackey Raye Neyman-Jones. Also back as Debbie, a little girl in the first film who is now the grown-up heroine. MANOS ’66’s female lead, Diane Mahree, is also back as the character Maggie.
The late Warren’s son Joe takes over his dad’s role as Michael in the sequel, and William Bryan Jennings III plays Sheriff Mulligan the son of the lawman his father portrayed in the first MANOS. “We also recruited Bernie Rosenblum, the teenager making out in the car,” Munch adds, “but unfortunately, not two weeks before the El Paso shoot, he suffered a stroke and was unable to film.” Munch himself, of course, is Torgo, and other newcomers in the cast include former WWE superstar Gene Snisky , UFC Fighter Ryan “Big Deal” Jimmo, Playboy Playmate Maria Kanellis, Tara Cardinal and Rippin’ Richie. Jay Lee, writer/director of the Robert Englund/Jenna Jameson-starrer ZOMBIE STRIPPERS, serves as director of photography.
And if that wasn’t enough, Munch and co. have been busy spiffing up MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE for high definition. “We, the people who represent the original cast and all things MANOS, have been working on the HD restoration for over 14 months,” he says. “Recently, some kid who found a print of MANOS at an auction is trying to cash in with the same idea. Myself and Joe Warren do not acknowledge, recognize, or approve of what this kid is doing. In the end, we just ask that the fans hold onto their money and wait for our version. It will include tons of never-before-seen footage, plenty of extras, cast and crew commentary, interviews…plus surprises. And the proceeds will go back to Joe Warren and the MANOS faithful.” Keep abreast of MANOS: THE SEARCH FOR VALLEY LODGE at its official website.
So there you have it the most bizarre news you will hear today. I'm sure I will keep you up to date on this movie project. Now to move the first one up in my pile to watch soon.

Hatchet II premiered in Europe on August 26, 2010 as part of London's Frightfest. The film was released unrated in 68 theaters across the United States by AMC Theaters as part of their AMC Independent program on October 1, 2010. The film was scheduled to be released in Toronto and Montreal theaters in Canada on the same day, but it was pulled because it was not rated by the cities' provincial rating agencies. The film was also pulled from U.S. theaters on October 4. Details of why are sketchy and the MPAA, who have been widely believed to be responsible in some way, would not comment. Hatchet II was released on DVD and Blu-ray February 1, 2011. And I have finally received a copy for Christmas. I could not wait to rip this bad boy open.
The last time I watched a movie that was "banned" or had so much of an uproar in the states it turned out to be the one movie that changed my life. That little movie was "Evil Dead"! I could not wait to rent it on VHS none the less. Now I'm not saying that Hatchet will change your life but some young teenager just getting into horror movies may see it different. Adam Green said that he made Hatchet as a throw back to the early 80's slasher flick. It was all about the death scenes and not so much the plot.
These movies don't disappoint when it comes to the killings. For example when Victor Crowley was beating a helpless victim to death with the blunt end of his hatchet you would think he is done but no he just keeps going! And the camera work gives it to you in a glorious brutal way!
And of course the kills keep coming. The big difference this time around was a much stronger plot. Filling in the holes left behind from the first one. In fact the ending to the first Hatchet made me so mad. To me it was the only bad part of the movie. But this movie picks up where that one left off. So already I was in a better mood.
Danielle Harris replaced Tamara Feldman as Marybeth. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I like Harris but she wined her way through a few scenes and I found my self telling her to shut up! The rest of the cast is a who's who in horror. And they all fit well together teaming up for some great scenes together.
I could go on and on about this movie and how much I did enjoy it. In fact I would have to say it was an improvement over the first. The kills made it worth while so if you like the first one or have never heard about these movie's but like 80's fun loving no plot killing machine slasher flick. Then you owe it to your self to watch Hatchet 2.
The film itself looks great with a strong plot and a great cast that works well together leaving the fan to love or hate this movie. For this fan its a love fest. Now to sit and wait for parts 3 and 4. As for Victor Crawly he deserves to be up there with Jason and Freddy.
In 1989, emergency responders received a 9-1-1 call from Maria Rossi (Suzan Crowley) confessing that she had brutally killed three people. 20 years later, her daughter Isabella (Fernanda Andrade) seeks to understand the truth about what happened that night. She travels to the Centrino Hospital for the Criminally Insane in Italy where her mother has been locked away to determine if her mother is mentally ill or demonically possessed. When she recruits two young exorcists (Simon Quarterman and Evan Helmuth) to cure her mom using unconventional methods combining both science and religion, they come face-to-face with pure evil in the form of four powerful demons possessing Maria.
Many have been possessed by one; only one has been possessed by many.
This still does not look as good as the Exorcist but it seems to be the trend. I will most likely skip it belive it or not this is the type of movie that bugs me. This movie opens in theaters January 6Th.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
Martians, upset that their children have become obsessed with TV shows from Earth which extol the virtues of Santa Claus, start an expedition to Earth to kidnap the one and only Santa. While on Earth, they kidnap two lively children that lead the group of Martians to the North Pole and Santa. The Martians then take Santa and the two children back to Mars with them. Voldar, a particularly grumpy Martian, attempts to do away with the children and Santa before they get to Mars, but their leader Lomas stops him. When they arrive on Mars, Santa, with the help of the two Earth children and a rather simple-minded Martian lackey, overcomes the Martians by bringing fun, happiness and Christmas cheer to the children of Mars.

Did you know there were three Cars built for filming by Barris Kustoms in North Hollywood, California: all were built of steel and there were no fiberglass replicas made. Two were destroyed during filming; one in the house crash scene, the other in the barrel-roll over the police cars. The gloss-black main CAR was auctioned off in 1983, and assumed shipped to a European collector. All were built on a '69-'71 Continental Mark III. The stunt car, driven by Everett Creach had a locked 4:11 differential (to allow easier spinning), a 460 cubic-inch V8 engine, heavy-duty suspension, roll bar, safety harness, and amber-tinted glass. The top is lowered and the beltline raised. Twelve craftsmen, led by Dennis Braid, built the main Car in six weeks. There was a fourth steel CAR built, which was loosely put together over a late 70's Thunderbird. This car was shot out of a car-cannon for the final scene over the canyon.Car cost $84,000.00 to build.

OK normally I would not do a Bzzagent post here but I feel the need to review these cookies here for you today. (Sorry) So being a Bzzagent your asked to try a new product and let people know what you think. Do you hate to bake cookies but enjoy the taste of homemade? Do you live by a Kroger? If you said yes then read on.
This cookie is packed with chocolate chips! And I swear you can taste the butter. Just like my grandma use to bake. It's crazy but it's true. I also like that it is free of added preservatives and artificial color. The size of the cookie is not too shabby as well. Almost 2x the size of other chocolate chip cookies.
You get 8 to a pack and at $2.79 it is a good deal that is sure to please your entire family. The downfall is it's only available at Kroger, Fred Meyer, and Ralph's stores.
Think I'm full of beans well...
I took a box to work with me the other day and everybody liked them. And commented that they tasted like homemade.
I give these bad boy's 4 stars out of 5.
I did not like how much they would crumble at times.
Now my Seven-year-old did not care for them like the taste of the Jewel Cookies better. She felt they had a funny taste. I don't think she likes the crumb's ether.
My three year could not get enough she really enjoyed the flavor.
So there you have. I have a few coupons for $1.00 off if you would like one shoot me an email with your address and I will get them out to you.

According to Dread Central, the UK outfit North Bank Entertainment is currently developing a new updated version of the cult classic Silent Night, Bloody Night. The Remake comes with a new title "Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Home Coming"
“SILENT NIGHT, BLOODY NIGHT: THE HOMECOMING will be a modern updating of the original story, but we also want to re-capture the atmosphere of the slasher films from the 1970s and 80s. There will be a keen focus on practical FX, genuine suspense, and compelling storytelling. This could be one of the rare cases when a new version of a classic actually benefits the original film. We hope that by bringing SILENT NIGHT, BLOODY NIGHT: THE HOMECOMING to a modern audience, they will also seek out the 1974 film and appreciate its importance in horror cinema history.”
“The abandoned home of Wilfred Butler, a wealthy but troubled man who committed suicide in 1982, has been willed to his grandson, Jeffrey. The house has sat in disarray since Wilfred’s death, standing in the way of developers who want to turn the property into residential homes. Just before Christmas 2012, some thirty years after Wilfred’s death, Jeffrey and his lawyer appear in town to negotiate the sale of the property. But an axe-wielding maniac has set up residencee in the house, and he doesn’t take kindly to strangers.”

The Stupidest Angel
A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror
by Christopher Moore
The Stupidest Angel - now with a new chapter!
'Twas the night (okay, more like the week) before Christmas, and all through the tiny community of Pine Cove, California, people are busy buying, wrapping, packing, and generally getting into the holiday spirit.
But not everybody is feeling the joy. Little Joshua Barker is in desperate need of a holiday miracle. No, he's not on his deathbed; no, his dog hasn't run away from home. But Josh is sure that he saw Santa take a shovel to the head, and now the seven-year-old has only one prayer: Please, Santa, come back from the dead.
But hold on! There's an angel waiting in the wings. (Wings, get it?) It's none other than the Archangel Raziel come to Earth seeking a small child with a wish that needs granting. Unfortunately, our angel's not sporting the brightest halo in the bunch, and before you can say "Kris Kringle," he's botched his sacred mission and sent the residents of Pine Cove headlong into Christmas chaos, culminating in the most hilarious and horrifying holiday party the town has ever seen.
Move over, Charles Dickens -- it's Christopher Moore time.
If you have not read this book yet you must!!! I don't re-read books very often but I love to dive back into this every year. This is truly one of the greatest books I have ever read. I love how Moore brings in his characters from his other books into this book.
